It could be argued that Shostakovich led a more interesting life having been both condemned and celebrated in the USSR during his lifetime. Google results are only a reflection of how many pages are written about something and not an indication of how good they were.

Usually when asked a question I can't answer I resort to poetry. In this case I am stumped, baffled and have no answer. Even if I knew you both very well I would still be unable to answer. Why certain people love each other is a mystery I fear I'll never solve.

I can't even give good advice on how to make it hurt less. Time, beer, radical changes to lifestyle can lesson the pain but there's no escaping your own brain.
