the reason you aren't getting pings like us guys is (and this is just speculation) but you could be further from the exchange.

ping = time / not download.

so the further away from the exchange the larger your pings will be.

sorry but that figure means nothing unless you tell us the server, how many people playing, is that the steam server menu ping or in game?

    all these are factors.

your ping will be lower on the server if there are no other clients as you obiviously don't have to send information to the clients and the server.

601**** as in exchange 624**** is the old one

    Tallaght upgraded about 40mins ago

(daft question, whilst we are all waving our todgers round on the speed increases, anyone know if eircom are gonna look for prices increases to match?)

Just wondering what the factors might be for different exchanges upgrading quicker, could it be down to the amount of subscribers and staff present

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,694 ✭✭✭Dingatron

Reading these posts just confirms that it is time for my own upgrade...!

Using ripwave as a "get out of jail free" card, but I can't even ping! It times out. Just back from a colleagues house where d/l speeds earlier this evening on Eircom were 1.7mb and I reckon that was before the upgrade. Whoa, what a difference in service there compared with me...

Do you think sales are open now...??

Whether it is BT/Eircom, either would have to be a better option than IBB me thinks!
