Hi Tom,

    Yes, got it from Will@hubjub.

Pros: Very comfortable and fast, not many on the roads.

Cons:The sizes run a big high, the paintwork is not the best, and apparently they don't hold up well in crashes.

    lovely (apart from the stem).

thanks for the list jefferson, couple of ones i hadn't really considered before like the fixie inc.

i haven't even decided for sure whether i'm going to go for steel or ali yet -had a go on a steamroller a little while ago and it seemed very heavy to me compared to my langster- but it'll be a while before i get going on the new fix as i'll concentrate on getting my (very entry level) road bike a bit more spec'd up first.

Yeah sorry about that - was feeling knackered and sore, didn't have energy to fix it...might do that today!

The tyres are flat - took it before I pumped them up.

You may be right, bits are noticeably numb this evening. It's a dinger of a saddle though, and comfy from the get-go. My B17 took a bit more work, and it had already been ridden when I took charge of it.

That Bob Jackson is only lovely :) It was a toss-up between himself, Dave Yates and Mercian.

Edit - notice my home-made Heineken-can shim on the seatpost?

Edit edit - the handlebars are Nitto Randonneurs, traded on this very board :) Comfy out

    Hi Beans.

Great to see your project came together. Those very Nitto bars used to be on this:

The on-one mungos I have on my machine now are nice too, but the nittos looked nicer. Ah well.

I've actually re-adjusted the saddle slightly, that photo was taken before I had my first cruise on it.

Yep, the shame. The frame is probably a slight bit too small. But set up like that it works pretty well.

plenty of beautiful bikes at the start of the Tour of Ireland. Possibly the nicest machine out there is the new Felt AR1, as ridden by Magnus Backstedt of Garmin Chipotle H30

yeah, my favourite of the day too. very aero looking, and the details are lovely. new dura ace looks extremely classy (only on some of em though). does anyone else feel slightly sorry for magnus's bike? he's easily twice the size of most of the riders.

i liked the pinarellos too, though seeing 6 of them used as dominoes made me wince a bit.

What happened to the original Bowery Caroline? Was it the crank/bottom bracket thing?
