Doesn't stop those that think the law don't apply to them.

From the Paper of Record. Some vintage Freeman defences evidentially tipped their hat to the Courts.

With Jerry on your side, what could possibly go wrong!

Ben has been re-arrested and has to serve his full sentence. Habeus corpus denied. His loyal gang of followers are causing a scene in the court

    MAN OVERBOARD!!

Barrow Street you say? Think he's on the way there now.

looking back over Ben's facebook stuff in the last few days - pure irony - he was looking to help some other poor unfortunate out west who is behind bars. Ben was at pains to say that who ever was doing the Article 40 / Hapeus Corpus must know what they are doing and be experienced in it - he was offering his help !!!

As the saying goes - never trust a mechanic who drives a banger

I feel a bit sorry for whoever ends up sharing a cell with Ben, no matter what they did.

Imagine listening to him all day every day & all night every night.

Years ago the late great Dermot Morgan had a song about when Eamon Dumphy got banged up.

We could reword it for Ben.

Release the little bolix in D wing

I don't believe Eamon Dunphy was actually imprisoned at any stage during his contempt proceedings?

I get the impression that she was expecting to get the court crowd to peg it over to Barrow Street. with her and gain some followers on the way after they heard her clarion shrill...doesn't look it's worked out that way.

Good people those yellow vesters.. one of their group has been allegedly assaulted by the gardai and what do they do? Film him lying on the ground outside from inside the building, proclaiming it's a disgrace that it's taking so long for an ambulance.

You could actually help your fellow yellow vester.

He was challenging his original sentence. He failed again but did buy himself a week of freedom on bail.. delaying the inevitable but ultimately losing

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,671 ✭✭✭whippet

I find it amazing that someone was assaulted and yet it happened at the exact time that none of these clowns were actually filming on their phones .... mmmhhh

Let us not forget that he had filed legal papers into the courts that made extraordinary allegations against the legal profession, was forced to purge himself, found in contempt, pleaded guilty, was given a long time to be found suitable for Community Service, eventually found suitable for same, accepted this sentence, didn’t undertake any CS over 15 months and only after being hauled in for sentencing did he decide to fight his conviction with a judge on a basis of grammatical error on documents from a civil court hearing.

    Give a man enough rope...

Barrett J's judgment has been published today.

As ever, he provides a quick summary of the relevant law and then takes the points raised one by one. To say that he wasn't buying what Ben and Jerry were selling would be an understatement.

In news that will surprise no-one on this thread, a Bar Council survey has found that barristers have been threatened and intimidated by "organised lay litigants" and others.

In fairness, they are forewarning imminent prosecutions, one would imagine.

    Sounds familiar.

He persistently failed to give straight answers when asked why he had not paid any of the fines, and also kept interrupting the chair of the bench and called the legal language “fictitious”.

Frustrated by Graver’s lack of respect, the bench imposed a suspended 45-day prison term, which will hang over him until the entire £2,423.32 is repaid.

It would appear that one of the "battalion" referred to here has had links and dealings with our Ben.

Funny how they are pro protests at somebody else's house but anti journalists calling over to their own houses.

    All the classic hallmarks indeed.

''Ms Whitty stated in her letter the undertakings were given under duress, challenged the court’s jurisdiction and alleged she was intimidated and humiliated.''

Not to mention, an ''eviction'' carried out.

''The initial proceedings were prompted after a Polish family living in one of the Cork properties, who had co-operated with the receivership, were evicted by Mr Dyer and two male associates in November 2016.''

This family might do well to seek damages for such outrageous behaviour.

Just thinking aloud. Can Ben add up the time done in the slammer for his real self, his straw man and his legal entity and claim that his three month sentence is now served?

it wouldn't be the craziest thing he has claimed if he did.

Naturally, the non-Freemen in The Hub are calling this an absolute travesty:
There ya go; if you live in Ireland, are prepared to fight for your rights and stand up for what you believe in, be very, very prepared to go to jail: Ireland will jail you if you stand up to them. REDACTED, Ben Gilroy, Brian McCarthy and many more.

It is another sad day in Ireland…........ one of many.
A further arrest in relation to the Strokestown incident. What's interesting for the point of this thread is the picture used showing a classic Magic Sign at the front of the property, as if it weren't well established that the Freemen had some part in all this.
