Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Have to say them 508 look the business, absolutely loving the styling.

Handle wise couldn't say but they must be somewhat good if armed units are now using.

    Has it upgrades?

Seemed impressive on a few tests.

In Regards to mentioned on the other thread about the army's new Toyotas I don't understand why they never buy a specialist 4x4 transits or a transporter similar to what the Germans got. It would be able to carry more troops and also fit the radio easily

The German's recently ordered 700 4x4's built on the G Wagen platform.

Saw a 2007 Fiesta in Citywest yesterday. Poor bastards driving that, that must have the bollocks ripped out of it at this stage!

A lot of gaffa tape used to hold it together!

Honestly couldn't ever understand how they were used, great car but space wasn't the best....

White F10 5 series at a checkpoint I went through earlier with the Mondeo Vignale. Would assume it's a 530d.

Yeah they’ve a few 530ds I have a photo from the m50 yesterday in convoy with bike lads. For some reason it doesn’t allow me to post the photo it says file size to big.
We wore in the van heading to something else and they tore by us in the third lane.
    Decent looking machines

Last night I seen one of them unmarked Skoda octavia running on blues, very nice. 100x better lights on it than the unmarked i40s. Had maybe 3/4 sets of blues running in the front. Very visible at night for an unmarked. Didn’t catch the year of it.

I reckon they will be rolled out soon to all stations, I can understand, although know management if they role out to every station it will be the estate 1.6 litre petrols very liberal looking thing,

Thing I will say about the newer i40s, the light/siren install is a million times better. Radio/satnav is nice to have too.

Going to need it the sat nav when we are in the backarse of the Dublin mountains chasing and loosing a fiesta. Eh control it’s a loss but can you put us down for refs please, we can find our own way back with the gadget.

On the slower point, very noticeable. Thought it was only me that noticed that. Build quality much bette tho, lighting set up and nice to have the siren toogle actually work on the horn.

The saloon rather than the estate? I only saw one which is 201 and just delivered to the district last week. Told it was one of the first in the country.

The new saloon i40 doesn’t have the satnav. Radio is great though.

There has been a black 201 saloon in Drogheda for at least a couple of months.

In the mondeo era I presume there was a contract with ford to supply cars
but who supplied cars before that in late 90/00s seen pics on documentaries and looked like a fairly eclectic selection at the time

The contract still goes through ford and ends up costing a fortune

News article on the bbc ni website and in the piece the Skoda squad car has a black bonnet with the hi viz yellow - I read the black reduces glare when the blues are on at night. I can’t upload the picture

That anpr interceptor teams in the UK, Skoda was most likely a VRS Octavia.

Met a skipper the other day and had to do a double take. He was in one of those rented cars. A Seat Alhambra. I said to him it was nice to see you in some decent cars and his response was, 'at least its not those awful Hyundai's"

Don't think so. The F10 doesn't have its indicators in the mirrors. Could be a Mondeo

  • Registered Users Posts: 119 ✭✭Borgo

Yeah looks like it could be the white unmarked Mondeo.

    The vignale one too.....

It has the lights behind the reg to so the nose sticks out from ones side view of it and is visible.

Would love to know what it's like to go as I've heard not as good a handler as it's sister.... The infamous markIII

Shame they're not a bigger engine ,(or even better the E.V.)
my money would be on the Kona in terms of reliability (compared to the landrover anyway )
