Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

A dumbass boss who assigns a 110lbs woman to exercise a ex racehorse, who only knows 2 speeds, stop and full fledge gallop. And who has a knack for getting his tongue over a bit and flash. She comes off in 30 seconds fracturing her arm. And all he says is it comes with the job.

The Brexit countdown timer on the RTE news. I've a feeling we'll see plenty of these count down to zero with no result in the next few yrs. A bit like the "Time in the Slime" back in 99. An utter waste of time.

Waking up at 3.30 after about two hours sleep and now wide awake.

Also, booked a return bus Galway to Limerick on Saturday. The confirmation email doesn’t give the times I’ve booked and is very shouty on caps lock.
THE DRIVER WILL ENTER A CODE ok great, what time though??

Set my alarm for 7.30 am. Woke around 6.50 after dreaming my alarm had gone off and that I'd fallen back to sleep. Ran into shower without checking time until later. Then realised I didn't need to be in work until 10 anyway (commute time for me is 5 minutes!).

I could have had an extra 2 hours sleep this morning

Work group asking me about that poor man in Drumcondra(as I know the area well),
one turns around to me and says, aren't you so lucky that you have somewhere nice to live.

So many ta's about this, the least of which strangers presuming ANYTHING about my life.

In the same vein, ppl asking where my 'family' are now, and how I must be this and that as an 'empty nester'.

I've a stitch on my back - it started on my neck on Sunday night, and it's now spread to half way down my left shoulder blade. I can reach it to press on it but not with enough pressure to "un-knot" it, and using a pen to reach it without straining my arm won't do much. I need a door jamb, or someone good with opposable thumbs. I'm also wondering if it's a bra-strap-related issue... :/ Anyway, ouch!

A tennis ball works well too :)

TA, I made a mug of coffee and it tasted like there was no sugar in it. I knew I had taken a spoon of sugar out of the jar, so I stirred it and tasted it again and there was no difference. I went to get more and saw that I had put the spoon of sugar into a bowl beside the sugar jar.
    D'oh :(

Drivers beeping at learner drivers. Your beeping will not help them move away from the lights any faster, infact they will probably get more flustered and stall the car again.

Must be great knowing how to drive from birth.

No, I'm not a learner, passed that test many moons ago.

Every now and then my parrot Charlie goes through a naughty phase where he tries to destroy things he knows he's not allowed to touch. I turned around today and found him with the cord of the laptop charger in his beak. Luckily I got it off the little sh!t before he chomped right through it.

Yesterday he got hold of a pen and I don't care about the pen but he managed to pull out the ink cartridge and if he chewed that he'd poison himself. The little brat thought it was hilarious and wouldn't give it to me and I was chasing him around the house like a mad thing. If anyone had seen it.

Today he also shredded the zip on one of my hoodies. It's like having a toddler with wings. If there's something he shouldn't be doing, he'll find a way to do it. Why can't he just behave like Ruby?

    Everything is annoying me today.

People who arent even in the queue, standing behind the person that is.But they are miles behind them, and dont move up.

Old biddies getting on and asking the bus driver a million questions. Why did the other bus not come.Cause he probably knew, you would be there.

People on buses paying but not moving over to let the Leapcard users do their business.

Im going to bed.Maybe tomorrow be a better day.

At least when the parrot is getting on my nerves I can just leave the apartment. I don't think you can take that approach with toddlers :pac:

I have a clothes horse that goes horizontal rather than vertical. The height is about waist level.

White wash drying away on it. Unexpected visitor arrives. Proceeds to pick up the free "area newspaper " from the pile of post. Opens it out on the clothes horse reading away.....damp white clothes + freebie newspaper ink... What could go wrong!

I kind of thought that but I've always heard that migraines render you pretty much incapable of doing anything whereas I'm able to sit here reading quietly so I presumed it was just a really bad headache. Going to go up and have a bath with the blinds closed shortly. Feeling very sorry for myself indeed.

I get ones like that when the weather turns cool and my sinuses get blocked. A nasal douche with baking soda helps to clear it

No, I'm not a learner, passed that test many moons ago.

Even worse happened to us yesterday. We were directly behind a driving school car with an obviously very new driver at the wheel. The learner car didn't pull off immediately the light went green, and the f***wit behind us beeped, so I assume that the learner and instructor both thought it was us doing the beeping

Fair play to the instructor though, after his student had finally got moving, the instructor put his arm out of the window and gave us the finger, which I appreciated even though it wasn't us doing the inconsiderate beeping.

I really, really wish there had been some way to communicate to the instructor that it wasn't us acting like a***holes.

While you do have a point about technology, it can be extremely frustrating when you get on a bus/train/plane and just want to tune out and the person beside you strikes up a conversation and won't shut up. There's a meme on the internet of people on a bus years ago and they're all reading the newspaper. Strangers enjoying their personal space isn't a new thing.

I'm much more along your lines of thinking when I see a family or a group of friends out for a meal and they spend the whole time on the phone. That drives me absolutely mad. My sister is social media mad. We were out for my other sisters birthday and she wanted to take a photo. Fair enough but we had to take it about four times because she wasn't happy  Then it was take another photo at regular intervals until I just refused to be in anymore photo's and got accused of being no craic  I miss the days when you went out with a disposable camera and it was potluck if you got good or bad pictures :D

@ragnor, same happened when I was learning to drive and I said to my instructor fairly cheekily can they not see the L plates and he replied doubt it's the car behind you, but ones further back! So your good character is probably safe :)
