Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Ah ok... I'll try that later. I assume that they are the correct regional channels because they used to work a few months ago. But I didn't realise that I would have to save them as favourites again when I did the switch. Cheers!
When you're on the setanta epg just chech what region you have.

    Just sent a PM.

For anyone else reading the posts I was sending a couple of PMs with details of a guy who I had bought a UTV region card from on Ebay. But unfortunately I was told earlier this evening that he doesn't have any now.

All of the Setanta cards are London region cards.

I see Ebay are removing a lot of those card listings also.

If anyone is looking for a UTV card I know somebody that will hopefully have some by next weekend.
PM me and I'll send on his contact details.
If you had a card of any region could you ring sky and get it paired to your box giving a Ní postcode thereby making it a utv card?

I could be wrong but I dont think that would work as Sky will identify where the box is or supposed be anyhow

When I got my ftv card from sky it was itv west. I disconnected the box from the phone line and rang them giving them a Ní postcode it then became utv. Maybe it will only work with an official ftv card.

Sky will only pair one of their Freesat from Sky cards or one of their active sub cards to your box if you have an account with them.

Ok. Mine is one of those freesat from sky cards.

I cancelled my HD sub yesterday so that I can get the card trick back on the EPG. I was told that all my HD recordings would be deleted in 31 days. Surely, as RTE2 HD is available without the HD sub, they cannot delete my RTE recordings? Will I still get the BBC HD channels via the card trick without the sub? Anyone know when UTV is going HD? Thanks in advance.

Happens me with all the "blue button" stations. Some in just a matter of seconds (itv's) and others after 20 or so mins (usually 5, 5* etc).

New software update R006.058.55.00P for Drx 890/5 boxes which is being rolled out since 2am this morning will kill the card trick and the blue button trick as it will now put the box into eco mode or deep sleep mode from about midnight till 6am unless you have a recording scheduled during the night.Which will mean you will have to do the card trick every morning so wont be worth the hassle.

I've given up doing the card trick anyhow. The box kept rebooting with them in place and I was getting recordings that said failed/clashed when there was no reason for it. I was away and not happy....

Does this mean we will be able to keep the blue button card trick as it is now.

If eco mode is same as auto standby it can be turned off under 'options' on hd box

Pity its the rubbish "for the Paddy's" version. Sky always give their Irish customers the thin end of the wedge..........And charge us more than their UK customers...:(

Finally got rid of the HD package yesterday. I have the other channels back on the EPG now. By the way, I still have RTE2 HD, BBC 1 and 2 HD and Channel4HD on the EPG. I assume when UTV goes HD I will have that too!

My box has upgraded and I can't get the card trick to work. I have the UK epg up and running, put the box into standby, put the subscription card back in and switch on. Normally after a short while, the box reverts to channel 998 - the Irish channels are available and the UK channels can be accessed via favourites.

This last bit doesn't happen and the UK epg stays - it's as if the box doesn't recognise the subscription card.

I suggest you may need to clean your subscription card, when you try to access rte1 what is happening?

There is no evidence to suggest that the blue button card trick will not continue to work.

Not after cleaning it but I turned off the On Demand box and it worked after that - not sure if that was a coincidence or not

After the upgrade do have the eco switch, also can you still use the blue button card trick?

Yes I've set the Eco setting so it doesn't turn the box off at night and the card trick still works and doesn't need resetting each day
