Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Having spent over a week on the phone/pm/email and practically living in arrivals.

I finally have the last of my brood safely back on Irish tarmac!

I may have to lie in a dark room and cry for some time.

    * Edit, seeing this written down makes me wonder my girls have travelled so much further out into the world that the boys have.

If she's headbutting your hand it's true love Seph!

TH thinking of my Junior Infants giving their Mums their tissue paper flowers this morning. They had such fun making them in school and planning places to hide them before Mother’s Day … I hope they all remembered where they hid them!

I sneezed out a tiny fluffy clump of orange chicken feather this morning. I've been sleeping under a 1930s eiderdown. Coincidentally my headache isn't as bad as it was, which was fairly bad. I feel a lot better without feathers in my sinuses.

Also TH clothesline drying in the sunshine.

I'm sitting out in the garden, watching himself cut the grass, the dogs running around, the birds stuffing themselves at the feeders and soaking up that bit of sun for the good of my immune system. :)

A little while back I posted in the TA thread that I'd been losing earrings and worst of all my necklace from my fiancee (instead of a ring, because I don't wear rings) disappeared.

I'd been in off humour at the time. When covid 19 caused the wedding cancellations it seemed like the missing necklace had been a sign.

Ive felt much happier and more enthusuastic about our plans withthe pressure of a large gathering, and we were thinking of having a small, forest wedding instead, until this issue is fixed. Today a load of books crashed off my bookshelf and a missing earring was among them. Noidea how.

I replaced them securely, sat down, and other books at the other end of the shelf flew violently off. It looked like something had pushed them. I expected to see my cat actibg the idiot but no sign of it. I collected upand replaced them and sat down.

Then noticed I missed one book, standing up staring me in the face. Its a local history book about a place that was connected to someone significant to my life last year. I then noticed my engagement necklace lying on the ground where the books fell.

I dont really know what to think, but it feelsl ike a good sign if anything and I'm TH my missing things have returned to me in such a dramatic manner :D

There's talk of turning Rottnest island where tons of those happy little Quokkas live into a quarantine zone. Hope it won't affect or displace them too much. Sorry not a TH but you were all chatting about them recently so when my sister who lives near there told me I thought of you THers.

I was out walking last week with the kids ( not anymore because I believe it’s so important to stay at home now and stop the spread) Anyway On the walk the kids were by me warned to stay well away from people.

So they turned it into a game. When they say people walking towards us from a distance they announced to me ‘Attention Attention human alert human alert. ‘’ I had to smile because even though it’s awful but necesssy to live like this they turned it into a kind of new game or coping mechanisms. I am proud of that resilience or whatever it is. Sorry for long post.

There’s a lovely picture of two children with a lamb who’s wearing mismatched socks (yes, I do mean the lamb!) on the front of the Sunday Times today. It was World Down Syndrome Day yesterday.

Puts it all into perspective, for me anyway. A good reminder to me of what’s actually important

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Th seeing a family of kids down the park trying to build a stepping stone bridge across the shallow waterways using rocks they got from the embankment, brought me back to when me and two of my brothers would do similar in castle Freke woods in a stream, except we would also try to build a damn with rocks so the water couldn't get through :D, happier times!

Had a hastily organised skype with four of my oldest friends last night because we were all feeling a bit low. After half an hour of virus chat someone said "enough", and we spent the next two hours playing "stop the bus", the minister's cat, and other car games we used to play as children. It got very, very competitive and there was a lot of laughter (and a few scurrilous accusations). So TH for good friends and simple distractions
