It's horrible to see/watch and even worse when fights are ended as a result of this.

Dan Ige with the quickest KO ever? Right on the money

    Shame

Where did the quickest Ko ever come from? DC was going on about it too. It was the first punch Ige threw, but it was after 20 seconds or so.

I was thinking this when watching until the replays as they were counting 4/5 seconds so i was wondering had I daydreamed the start....

NO IT WASN'T the first punch he threw!

DC and bisping are such idiots between not knowing the rules and crap like this. Looking at a slow motion replay and counting the seconds, my god!

lol, that genuinely made me laugh when he started counting during the slow mo. i like DC, he's a good guy but that was next level stupidity. Can't stand Bisping though, and both of them together is like tweedledee and tweedledumb

A women's BW contender collapsed at weigh-ins just now. After they revived her she attempted to weigh in again whereupon she promptly collapsed again!

Terrible main event. Holland looked clueless talking smack while being unable to do anything on bottom.

Imagine how anyone must feel if they had money on him.:pac:

The Holland run last year was cool, but if you look at the five dudes he defeated , bar Souza not exactly hall of famers was it? Arguably Darren Stewart was his second most impressive win and he was very unlucky that night which puts the streak in perspective.

That might have been his ceiling, skeptical he has the work ethic needed to be anything more than a fun undercard fighter.

Bizaare stuff between Ruiz and Buys at the end. I know a lot of people are saying it was a terrible fight but I found it really entertaining.

    Twitter comments are utter gold.
Cheyanne Buys heard saying “I’ll follow you home bitch” to Canejo and her middle finger... I’m crying, you’re gonna follow her home and get taken down in her driveway with that same head lock
Cheyanne Buys is gonna wake up in a cold sweat trying to fight off imaginary scarf holds for the next two years

    Holland is mentally very weak

His talking while losing is to give himself the excuse that he is just having fun and to act like he doesn't care or isn't trying ,
If you watch he does it more in fights that he is clearly going to lose ,He is afraid to look like he is actually trying because he mentally has to give himself and excuse,

He was on Rogan's podcast and after 10 minutes I turned it off, you learned exactly what you need to know ,
He kept saying stuff like he hates 5 rounds it to tough and he doesn't like to train and he doesn't train hard Blah blah, Making excuses for it to be ok for when he losses ,

His coach the Travis Lutter ( the Jordan of BJJ haha ) kept apologising for him ,

He clearly doesn't have the mind set to be a truly top fighter ,

4.30pm kick off for today’s UFC with the main card at 8pm for anyone who was unaware.

Quite a decent card with some fun fights.

I think because Till was originally on the card and they were catering to the UK time zone.

Mackenzie is the female Damian Maia.
If you end up on the ground it is game over.

Dean looking suspiciously ripped IMO, she always seemed to carry a lot or fat and I don't remember that amount of muscle on her in the past

Did I actually hear in-between round 2 and 3 Joe Schilling saying to Rodriquez "remember that kick, when we were in the ranch on mushrooms".

Loud crowd noise came in a split second later. I don't know if the censored something else out or were just too slow censoring it.

She wasn't long off having a baby when she first came i to the UFC. she struggled with her weight cut for a while. Looked in much better shape this time around and her arse was noticeably smaller :D

    Great win by Allen.

Always love when I see a toe stamper lose. Something I really hate about it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,280 ✭✭✭✭mdwexford

Yeah Allen is very technically sound, he’s still young could well be a title challenger in the future.

Fancy Holland a bit for the upset in the main event.

Holland is in the wrong weight class

I now fancy Holland to get the KO in the 5th.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,096 ✭✭✭hawaii501

Surely Holland has to try 170? Just not strong enough for the takedown defence these last 2 fights, nothing to do with ability too much.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,931 ✭✭✭✭mailburner

Never have I been so disappointed about a late replacement. Original fight would have been a cracker
Till will have a field day on social media :pac:

This is a browse while you watch fight if ever there was one

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,280 ✭✭✭✭mdwexford

Holland is 6’3 and has missed weight at 170 before.
He’s very lean looking to me, not making welterweight unless he chops off a leg.

Jesus Vettori is boring and Holland’s takedown defence is non existent.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,096 ✭✭✭hawaii501

Yeahbi was thinking he's probably another Till where he'd struggle to make 170.
I'd say Till would have KO'd him considering Holland landed quite a few times there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,964 ✭✭✭Podge2k7

Another Holland main event stinker. He needs to change camp, take 18 months off and drill tdd.

Edge of my seat, I thought that Holland nearly had him in that first exchange in the 5th.

Holland has a terrible takedown defense, great on his feet.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,931 ✭✭✭✭mailburner

Should be next for a shot when whittaker doesn't want it and you can't put costa in there again

    Till the big loser though

I fancied vettori to take till but after watching that I think till might have put him away

He missed weight nearly 6 years ago though which may be down to many things and not just a reflection on his ability to make 170.

He mentioned after the Brunson fight he'd like.to get a nutritionist and go for 170.

Still doesn't fix his lack of TDD but he's gonna be bullied at 185 so it's worth trying to go down

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,004 ✭✭✭FileNotFound

His big mouth and poor performances don't mix well.

Foolish rushing back in the ring.

Maybe if he dissappeared for a year to learn from this. Maybe the weight drop.

Either way as is he won't go far in the current division, road map to his defeat layed out for everyone.

I can’t see where he loses 15 pounds from, not many welterweights that tall.

As you say it’s the lack of any takedown defence that’s the major problem with his game.

Holland looks like he could add some muscle and still make Middleweight ,

He was on Rogan recently before his last two losses and kept talking about how he hated training and barley done it & never tries in practice , ( he was on a win streak & being cocky ) Well guess what Mr Holland it showed . In the interview it came across like he had an awful mindset but seems to be very naturally talented,

Next fight for him is huge now its win or take up something else to make a living ,

He didn't come across quite as badly on with Ariel last week before the fight with Vettori. He's a bit Jekyll and Hide that way though.

Dropping to 170 would be doable albeit difficult. Or he adds size and stays at MW. When he was on with Ariel, he said he took a week off training after the Brunson fight and was 193 almost a week out from the Vettori fight. He's going to be bullied by physically bigger people unless he makes massive improvements in his game.
