Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

You it is, keeping a nice steady pace up past the Topaz, I certainly wouldn't be going up that drag so fast.

Hmmm, "fast" is not a term I have heard applied to my cycling abilities - maybe not me after all....

it was relevant, I was driving for a change so everyone on a bike seemed fast.

Think a repeat of this at about 8.05 this morning heading north on Harcourt Street. Didn't catch the bike make this time but everything else seems the same enough!

Nice to bump into rollingscone again yesterday, later in the day when he's a bit more articulate. :D Sorry I had to dash off, I only made it to the event with about five minutes to spare in the end though, so glad I did!

Green/Pink kit spotted twice today on the GDBR - between Clontarf and Sutton and later at the food stop in Naul.

That was me. It only occurred to me after the food stop to give a name.

I was about 20-30 metres behind you as far as Malahide when I stopped for a nature break.

Then again I was maybe 5-10 metres behind you on the old N2 to Hollystown and you just disappeared into the distance.

Edit: My first Wishbone Ash Sighting, like busses, you wait ages for one, and then 3 in the same day.

That was myself. I was in a bit of a daydream at the time hence the late reply and the reason I ended up at caught at that junction instead of leaving the cycle track earlier! :)

Passed a striped Boardsie at an ungodly hour this morning on Clontarf cycle path. It was dark but my money is on rollingscone on a pre-work leg-loosener to Howth.

Pink and black kit with white Helmet southbound on Clanbrassil st at about 0825 this morning.

Gave a shout and a wave but don't think it made it across the traffic noise.

    At Leonard's Corner?

I thought I heard a faint shout alright but couldn't see where it came from so I just gave a delayed 'neutral' wave of my hand.

    T'was

I've finally joined the WA spotting club!

Not the most expected sight when cycling kids to school through streets broad and narrow, yet full pink kit has been spotted and acknowledged at 8:40, Leinster Road, D6.

Obviously it was no one else but Sir WA himself.

I gave a shout to a Boardsie in the green jersey in Howth village today at 1.05pm.

Pink Boards jersey spotted around 10.50am this morning close to Blakes Cross. I was in a car and the mrs was driving so couldn't beep.

Not a Jersey sighting, but I did bump into (not literally) Mercian pro on the commute this morning. Lovely chap.

Good talking to you too droidus. Your cool bike really caught my eye. The combination of the Alfine hub, belt drive and disk brakes looks quite minimalist without going to the extreme of a fixie. Seems like a great combination for a commuter bike.

Couldn't wear cycling gear as I was on an exam board in UCD. Not sure if all the candidates would agree with your last comment 😊

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,545 ✭✭✭droidus

Yeah, it is (IMO) the perfect commuter bike, and yet there you are on a beat up cannondale and 140km in your legs leaving me in the dust after every light!

Seen a pink/black jersey crossing the N11 near Stillorgan yesterday evening, on what looked like the most comfy commuter bike in history

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 68,317 ✭✭✭✭seamus

    ^^
Both could have been me. MTB shorts & single pannier?

And it's a pretty comfy commuter alright, that's my tank.

Yep, silver mudguards and MTB shorts. I waved and then thought, that person doesn't know me, better stop. I also look creepy when I wave as its done with too much enthusiasm.

I'm almost certain I saw a boardsie on the Clontarf/Howth cycle track up around Baldoyle at 5:15pm yesteray. They were heading southbound, as I was heading north.

Yes, that was myself. Another cyclist overtook me very closely which startled me a bit just as you shouted.

(Someone gave me a shout just a few minutes before that - possibly cdaly?)
