I’ve just said I am not referring to him being bullied out of it

I am saying maybe in a quiet moment he will sit down and realize how despised and hated he is in Irish society and depart the political stage

You are using the aggressive actions of one person as a way of justifying your desire to see him leave.

That is exactly hoping that bullying forces him from his positions.

As I said - it's a popularity contest so if people want him gone, then he'll be gone.

Like so many politicians before him?

How do we know she's a socialist?

    Only in small numbers
You will always have wasters in any society.

Meh. They have it easy compared to 60 years ago. Nearly alf the country didn't even have running water.

Now we are a land of obese drunkards.

We've more homeless children now than we ever had before.
A married couple with one or both of them working would be lucky to afford a home of their own.
More and more working, tax paying people are becoming homeless.
We've become the land of ignorant selfish disinterest.

This demented rant has fcuk all to do with radio silence from the media and government about the garda commissioner covering up 150 murders

Like i said....p1ss take of a news story given entire coverage, but 150 murders covered up....complete radio silence....serious mismatch in priorities there

I agree with you. I too expected to click into a thread titled "Socialist throws hot coffee on Varadkar" fully expecting it to be about a garda commissioner covering up 150 murders.

How outraged am I that it isn't!!!

I also had a look into a thread title "Christmas Chocolates & Sweets" in the Christmas forum too and was disgusted that nobody there mentioned it either!

Probably because we’ve a higher population than we ever had before.

    Of course it is.

The direct result is not as serious as Novichok in Nalvany's water bottle but such tactics can be used to the same effect - shutting up or frightening off people who might have different political views.

It is a pity Leo wasn't as quick as two-jags

You have to laugh here how the Politician swings ( at 1 minute 20 seconds ) the Old Woman around for the Cameras. He wasn’t wasting the opportunity !

    Hi old gill

No Not bully him out of it but maybe just make him realize how despised he is and he’d be better off getting off the stage.

He is the most popular party leader in the country.

Not only are you condoning intimidation, but you get your facts wrong!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,748 ✭✭✭ExMachina1000

    It's the exact same thing.

FFS mate - it's a ludicrous thing to say, noone should ever be bullied out of their position and politics is probably the easiest industry to be removed from if you're not liked as it is literally a popularity contest

Cancel culture . I don't like it. It must go

Or probably because our political and economic ideologies are simply fcuked!

Politician in the number 2 position in the government gets assaulted by randomer. If that doesn't make the news, what do you think should?

Of course there'll be a thread on it but for there to be so many posts, to me suggests that some people don't think it's a simple case of some fool doing something foolish. I didn't think it would need much discussion.

Hardly surprising when we have let in record numbers of immigrants.

No, we don't. Homeless numbers are down this year.

Per head of population, we have less homeless than the North (where your friends are in power), than the UK, and than most of the 150 countries in the world.

Is it more violent to throw a milkshake at someone intending to humiliate them - or to push people into homelessness and many into suicide as a result?

Bizarre - hopefully this attack will get him to leave public life but I'm not condoning it or bullying in general?

You couldnt f*ckin make it up.

I have no time for Varadkar but he's the second in command of the state, he should be better protected. What if she'd had a knife?

must be just a tánaiste thing, a remember another one "trapped" in a car too... they seem to have lax security..very strange and not good enough security for the second in command in the state imo

Its a problem all over Europe ffs,

Even in the likes of Denmark and Holland.

    https://www.iamexpat.nl/expat-info/dutch-expat-news/homelessness-netherlands-has-more-doubled-2009

Too many migrants into Western Europe.

So are haircuts, people buying pints and meat factory inspections.

We broke records on the numbers of children homeless.

    Homelessness itself had quadrupled.

Is this the 3rd or 4th time you've spun this particular yarn?
    I'll skip ahead Blanch:

Ditto. They quadrupled over the last few years and went down as expected because of Covid. Told you this weeks ago with links. Told you this the other day with the same links. Same goes for A&E visits and haircuts.

    Forgetful much?

I can post this every few months you raise this like it wasn't debunked before. Now, this is where you disappear for a few days.

Have we heard the Socialist Nirvana Manifesto from the Milk-Shake Launcher ? ?

    ...
FG could bring back the actual Blueshirts again. I'd imagine it would be a help for them if every time the likes of champagne socialist Paul Murphy stepped outside his house he got a few digs for his trouble. Of course, it would only be legal if the attacker didn't like him.......which would differentiate the attacker from all the other potential attackers who do like him.
    ...
That's exactly what the violent right wing groups are: Fine Gael's future allies...

When NeoLiberal economic policies grow bad enough to spur a countermovement against them, that countermovement will be made up of the economic left and the far right. NeoLiberals will always choose the fascists over the economic left. The western worlds politics is transforming into a repeat of the 1930's.

Not condoning the incident for one minute but maybe just MAYBE it will make varadkar realize he is absolutely despised by a lot of the electorate.

Time for him to leave public life maybe ?

I don't think Varadkar is as despised as many people think, otherwise FG wouldn't be 35% in the latest polls despite the ****show this government has given us. Varadkar is probably one of the more popular politicians in the Dail. Not that it would be hard mind.

I'd bet the vast majority of the country can only hope that would be the case for both extremist minority factions/wings/assh*les whatever term you like yerself.

Ireland hasnt the capacity to build houses in huge numbers.

Our construction industry was almost finished off post 2008.

We cant keep letting in non EU migrants with low skills.
