I'm a little concerned if Varadkar wasn't joking. I mean who sees a random young woman walking towards them and thinks Avril Lavigne?

No I didn’t. I was referring to an article another poster linked to, published by PBP which called for an extended lockdown.

    Please stop making stuff up.

He's having a tough time defending this assault on the Tanaiste, most likely supports it but is busy trying to muddy the waters and engage in whataboutery.

An attack on an elected representative is an attack on the state which is an attack on everyone.

He's just said it was a smoothie and it got on his face and suit.

I don't think that makes a difference, at all.

He is the countries' Tanaiste for starters, he should be getting protection going forward, the country is far too polarised at the moment.

What happens if that was acid or other chemicals or scalding coffee either?

It’s not even whataboutery. The poster seems to be replying to comments that exist only on their imagination.

There may also be a racist and homophobic element to this.

its not really, but she should be charged, our politicians need to be protected

Anyone who throws a drink or anything in a politicians face has a fairly high-to-certain chance of being arrested and potentially imprisoned for it, and knows this - so while it's certainly not a brave thing to do, it can hardly be called cowardly.

Implementing policy which destroys or enormously harms thousands/tens-of-thousands or even hundreds-of-thousands of lives - making the country near unlivable financially for many - and suffering no personal consequences for it, likely ending up in a lucrative private financial board position after office? That is enormously cowardly and treasonous.

    Of course it is.

The direct result is not as serious as Novichok in Nalvany's water bottle but such tactics can be used to the same effect - shutting up or frightening off people who might have different political views.

No, I will not give that information. Because it doesn't matter. It's not a liberal arts field or whatever you are immediately getting ready to accuse me of. What matters is I have evidence 100% to prove that by every stretch of what I could have researched and found out, there were supposed to be opportunities for hard working, well studied people to get their foot in the door. That was all a lie. And when years later I eventually contacted the university again they told me "you're doing the right things, just keep trying."

It is a criminal circle, one partly funded and entirely defended by the government.

You made a mistake, you, nobody else.

Don't go down the blame game route and get stuck in a rut, learn from your mistake and choose wisely the next time.

Think the vast majority of people on thread have condemned it, including the dreaded lefties. Generally people are not okay with it from all spectrums. So I'd say get over yourself.

  • It's certainly a socialist, many of them are on twitter cheering it. A woman in 20s/30s on a skateboard dressed in such a manner throwing a drink on a FG politician is unlikely to be "right wing".

Given that it was a milkshake, will you apologise for spreading fake news?

what a coward. arrest them please,

He would have had security with him but obviously opted to not have them beside him.

This is why the security decisions should be made by the security team and not the person

    This is great.
    Why?
Because it makes the snivelling left look bad,

At the start it was stated on twitter it was coffee. Varadkar coffee was trending. Only until Leo stated there it was milkshake was it confirmed otherwise.

Do you think it makes a difference whether it was coffee or milkshake? The liquid is irrelevant, assault is assault. Thankfully the Gardaí will likely find, prosecute and charge this individual.

I sincerely hope that this woman has no children.
Imagine having that low life for a mother.
Me too, the childless women I know are way more satisfied in their lives.

What about those of is who have worked hard every single day of our lives, gotten degrees, studied, achieved things, improved everything they can improve, yet are still paid like absolute dog sheit with no prospects? All the while the rich get richer in this country without hardly breaking a sweat?

You know nothing of hard work and injustice. Nothing.

Why dont all you big babies start a co-op?

Loads of other countries have them but it seems to me you prefer to cry and want to live in victimhood.

Could have been a disgruntled neighbour for all you know.
Want to see him assaulted because it makes the other team look bad. With friends like you...

In the case of the next generation, we never start worrying because existence is too unaffordable to even consider trying to support another entire person.

The land of people who get up early in the morning to support children they never see and then they wonder why children are rebelling against them.

No because FG are a far right party and minorities who join them are traitors.

You know the FG that increased public spending by 12 billion since 2016, brought in and supported referendums for abortion+gay marriage, allowed record non EU migration into the state etc

Is it more violent to throw a milkshake at someone intending to humiliate them - or to push people into homelessness and many into suicide as a result?

I'm unsure why my statement got that reply. Do you think the top members of government don't have security?
