Not condoning the incident for one minute but maybe just MAYBE it will make varadkar realize he is absolutely despised by a lot of the electorate.

Time for him to leave public life maybe ?

    A bit drastic

Was under impression, the far rights dislike of the EU,stems from.the.mastrict treaty of 1992 and its freedom of movement

Was the BNP etc, indifferent up until 93/94 until the effects started to be felt??

The far right has always hated it.Eg Enoch Powell in the 70s.

Back then the far left hated it as well of course,

The far left and the far right were both working class then. The radical left is solid upper middle class now.

The far right is whatever can fill a mini bus that day.

Just in case people are confused reading some of the posts from strumms and co.

Varadkar is NOT the “deputy head of state”. That role does not exist in Irish politics

He is tanaiste but that is a different thing to deputy head of state

Funny that, the more economically conservative thinkers seem to think it's just fine for banks to create money freely, then sell it to us as credit!

Aye. Central banks "create" money all the time. See everyone should be screaming from the rooftops print some free money for housing etc but no, instead they focus on the left asking for free houses or other nonsense. Not where they should be focused. They create free money to give to us and we pay it back to them. You couldn't make it up.

Attack on Leo. I'm a lefty and that was bang out of order.

Just imagine the outcry from the resident left-wing scum if he had broken the social distancing guidelines to touch the creature?

Furthermore, God only knows what he'd have caught off it if he had made contact!

Because they can't source the workers here, and south Africans might work for cheaper

Yes. They cant get them because our construction professionals have left or gone into a different field. So our construction industry doesnt have the capacity to build all these houses.

Plus we havent many graduates due to the high drop out rates in construction courses.

Areas such as hospitality and tourism, and engineering manufacturing and construction, also experience high non-completion rates, at 35% and 33% respectively.

At the end of the day it could of been a glass of acid or something. I am not a fan of his but at the end of the day I don't think any of us for whatever reason would like some randomer to come along and throw something in our face. Could of been anything.

I don't like the guy's politics but he is massively popular and will walk the Presidency if he wants it.

He did a good job during Covid19 as well.

Lol. You’re a very angry person aren’t you. He’s not hated at all. Gets voted in every time in local office and has been the leader of the country.

Ultimately I don’t give a hoot about him tbh but people’s attitude on here is hilarious

Not at all angry. Enjoying a lovely Friday evening with my wife and family

Just to say I talk to a lot of ppl from a lot of diff backgrounds - varadkar is despised by many

FYI I confidently predicted FG would lose the last election and I noted there was a huge amount of anger out in the country (Ppl were sick of varadkar and FG) and I was told how wrong I was. Then the results came in....

    Ok, pedant ;)

He’s the deputy head of the government of Ireland, but with everything going on... by all means take a few moments of your day to relate an ‘error’ in my chosen job description, makes you look erm, fabulous ?

    Anyway....

A few months ago he and his party were humiliated in the general election

So no, he is not “massively popular”. Got a bit of a bounce due to covid yes

but lot of ppl hated him more following his “awkwardly shoe horn teen movie references” into his speeches rubbish.

Stop saying he is the deputy head of state then.

No such role exists in Ireland.

They got 2 seats less than the biggest party.

    Hardly humiliated. :D

They are in with a real shot of another 5 years in government in 2025 as FF are useless.

Tanaiste is Deputy Prime Minister. We do not have a Deputy Head Of State which would be Deputy or Vice President as our President is Head Of State.

Don't let the action of one arsehole skew your view of how things are. It's clear by social media reaction and this thread that the majority of us are a sound bunch.

They are in with a real shot of another 5 years in government in 2020 as FF are useless.

Don’t forget that SF won that election with less than 25% of the vote. In fact the ‘broke the free state’ (whatever that means). Then they were reduced to begging other parties to let them into power.
