You will always have wasters in any society.

Meh. They have it easy compared to 60 years ago. Nearly alf the country didn't even have running water.

Now we are a land of obese drunkards.

While I'd agree on Varadkar, Farage on the other hand made his career out of hate speech. So when that's the the political persona that you choose to adopt, it's fair to view him as a horrible person.

Name one hateful speech Farage has ever made.

A week after Jo Cox was shot he said this.

Another Soc Dem with thinly veiled support for this assault, this time a Kildare county councillor Chris Pender. Unsurprising from someone with "ANTIFA" in his bio. If this is the standard of politician we can look forward to now from the Social Democrats, they will be going nowhere fast.

Is that not exactly the same thing that the other rando said?

Well I don't know whether that would help or hinder her future prospects.

The only two options open to Arts degree holders are a life on the dole, or, if they are lucky, a part time opening at the local 24-hour McDonalds.

What choice was I supposed to make? I did everything. I researched everything. I made contacts, I asked around, I prepared, I pushed myself - everything before ever agreeing to do the degree. There is nothing more I could have done. Then every last opportunity in the field disappeared pretty much as soon as I got my degree, and/or turned out to be complete nonsense lies by the professors. And I was left on the streets.

How am I responsible for that? I did everything right.

Ireland is a country that mocks the hard-working working poor, exactly like you are mocking me. Making it out as if it is my fault. I did everything right.

I don't know you from Adam, plus I mean no offence....but...
It's a good thing you were not born in the 1980's. You're attitude is one which has become quite prevalent among a certain demographic. In the 80's, necessity became the mother of all invention and everyone, and I do mean everyone, worked hard to try to keep good on the table or a roof over their heads. When I say hard work, I mean it. Most had two jobs going and most couldn't afford to go to college. The amount of opportunities available to people of your age today is astronomical compared to when I was younger. The key was adaptation. Young people don't know how to adapt and change. I see it in many of the folks who appear before for job interviews. They keep flogging the same horse expecting things to change. It's never going to happen.
So, it has finally dawned that you messed up on your degree choice. Well, what are you going to do about it? You don't need a degree to be successful. I have a simple diploma, I get by. I've written three books, made two Nature documentaries, write a weekly column for a paper, landscape gardens, work in a garden centre etc. All to keep my kids fed and in school. Adapt and get out of that frame of mind. You are in charge of your own life.

You never know they might catch a lucky break and bag the graveyard shift at the local Topaz and thus become an insider in the oil industry who can then disperse helpful trading tips to all and sundry that post here.

Not condoning the incident for one minute but maybe just maybe it will make varadkar realize he is absolutely despised by a lot of the electorate.

Time for him to leave public life maybe ?

    :D
FFS. No matter who is elected a huge amount will always hate them.

Why would he leave if he was elected? He’s clearly well enough liked to get into office. Plus the FG approval rating is higher than it’s been in the past 4-5 years. Some smelly hippies don’t represent the electorate, they just shout the loudest.

This can make the news, but a garda commissioner covering up 150 murders and its radio silence from media and government

Pretty much sums up,how fcuked up priorities are in this state anyway

Perhaps we should just allow assault and intimidation of any politician once a person doesn't like them? You can't assault the ones you like, only the ones you don't like.

Sounds like a good plan, eh?

FG could bring back the actual Blueshirts again. I'd imagine it would be a help for them if every time the likes of champagne socialist Paul Murphy stepped outside his house he got a few digs for his trouble. Of course, it would only be legal if the attacker didn't like him.......which would differentiate the attacker from all the other potential attackers who do like him.

It is the same as when the bould waster Murphy rounded up the mob to attack and intimidate Joan Burton. Sure he'd only be getting a dose of his own medicine.

SF - well it would suit them too. Sure they have all their "minders" all up and ready to go. They'd probably have a headstart on the blueshirts.

No hate speech there I'm afraid.

Can you define hate speech in a single sentence?

No Not bully him out of it but maybe just make him realize how despised he is and he’d be better off getting off the stage.

    It's the exact same thing.

FFS mate - it's a ludicrous thing to say, noone should ever be bullied out of their position and politics is probably the easiest industry to be removed from if you're not liked as it is literally a popularity contest

Who did Leo "push into homelessness and suicide" ?

The unprecedented situation required prioritizing people over the economy.
If anything, Leo, with his background as a doctor did prioritize people over businesses.
It was one of the most socialist acts he could do.

They introduced a law that nobody could be evicted... so I ask you again, who got evicted into homelessness ?

And anyway, landlords aren't responsible for providing free accommodation when the state fails to provide it. "Someone" has to pay the mortgage.

    Idiotic post...

I hope that mindless, unemployed, hippy, angry individual who threw the milkshake spends "some" time in jail for it.
