I dunno, I think Conor would do well in WWE

    He'd make a great DIVA

I've no interest either, but the option is there for him to make money if he chooses. It would be a step back for him I think.

True, he certainly has the mouth for it and he's athletic enough to pull off the stunts but I agree, it'd be a step back and I'd be fiercely disappointed.

I'd rather he simply retired to sit on his money pile than see him join WWE.

I'd rather watch him fight a few cans in Boxing than join WWE.

There's no money to be made crushing cans in boxing, unless your name is Anthony Joshua.

Hes out for dinner with Peter Queally and co for steak right now and doesnt look too bothered by all of it.

I'd say they would have to make the Diaz fight a title fight now to justify it being top billing.

    So Lawlor maybe?

I agree with those saying talking about New York though. The whole thing about being the first UFC night @ MSG is probably what Conor has in his sights now. Don't believe a word about the retirement aspect of things. He said he decided to retire young, but sure that could just mean in his mid-30s and he's thanking people for the cheese which will allow him to do that.

Well he is the pound-for-pound king at looking for a reaction:

    *Gobsh**e Alert*

I feel dirty just embedding a Tweet of his here, but I think it's funny that he doesn't see what a tit he's making of himself.

It's cute that he still think he's relevant.

As I said, I'm only posting it because he doesn't seem to realise how moronic and bitter it makes him look, and that makes me happy to be perfectly honest with you. :)

I'll cover it up a bit though. EDIT: And done.

would agree with this - 4min to 5min.
McGregor waits for all the advertising stuff to get laid out and the promotion to kick off and reneges on his deal and tries to get more money. but they called his bluff. you can't do business like that.

This isn't accurate. I'm not sure how many Kobe original retirement tweet has(or if he even made one) but his retirement has been known for a long time. Secondly the tweet he made after his last game has more retweets. Conor currently has 150k.

    https://twitter.com/kobebryant/status/720726913350668288

Then we have the fact that Kobe has 9.2m+ followers vs 1.5m for McGregor. He aint in Kobe territory and he never will be.

I was never convinced that Conor wanted to rematch Diaz at 170 lbs. It seemed a little too brave.

He realised he was gonna get messed up worse this time so he shat his little panties, and pulled out of the fight.

Yeah that makes perfect sense. Good job, any more insight Columbo?

I'm very suspicious of this. It seems an odd coincidence he'd make an announcement in such a jocular way at the same time an interview is being aired with the bro of the man killed in the recent MMA fight.
Is it just a ploy to ensure the conversation is hijacked by this "will he/won't he crap" instead of letting another opportunity to have the dangers of MMA make headlines?
Today that interview has got zero airtime anywhere and this vague announcement is everywhere.

If it's a publicity stunt and he suddenly changes his mind about retirement I hope no one ever gives him a shred of respect again. It was very insensitively timed regardless of the motive though imo.

Not that it matters at all, but this is the Kobe tweet it's being compared to

Also the comment above about whether the amount of tweets is significant or not, because 'does it really matter if you don't have a twitter account' or whatever is hilarious.

Aye, sure I don't read the papers or listen to the news, therefore if someone is grabbing headlines on those formats, it is not significant.

If a bear sh*ts in the woods and no one is around to hear it, does the turd landing make a noise? or something to that effect ;)
