Oh, warm water and some fairly liquid removed the packing tape residue. I went for "quiet" packing tape. Quiet being that it doesn't make that horrible sound when pull large amounts off the tape roll quickly. Maybe that's why it came off with just soap?

Glad the cabs are ok after the move and that you didn't take Jack's advice of using a brillo pad to remove the tape! :pac:

Presume most of you saw the below over in the ylyl thread, thought it was funny. Actually, regarding controllers, only just noticed Ghostbusters 2 featured a NES arcade stick to pilot the Statue of Liberty. Useless movie trivia fact I guess. :)

I love these kind of stories. A rare animation has been discovered in Super Mario Bros 3 after all these years.

When Mario picks up the hammer suit it takes away his ability to slide but there is a very specific place in the game where it can actually be done.

Does anyone if there is a way to disable ad alert emails from adverts.ie whilst retaining app notifications for the same alerts?

I would prefer to just get app notifications on their own in other words

I asked them before in the Talk to forums only to receive an unhelpful response!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,790 ✭✭✭eddhorse

No idea, i just use a bogey email for all notifications.

In other retro news, is it me of is G-Darius very difficult, even on easy mode?

I got around that by just setting up a filter on my email inbox to send anything adverts.ie related off to a black hole never to be read.

Nintendo have an amazing ability to make you want something you really don't need. It's quite impressive.

    :D

Congrats anyway! In the final stages of organising our wedding, and I don't know why people stress so much over it! Granted we're keeping it fairly simple, but it's been all good!

100 quid, registry office and bam, all done. All the money I would have wasted with a big wedding feeding people I don't know or like was spent on us. :pac:

Different strokes for different folks of course. Long as the both of you are happy. :)

    And congrats Jack!

My wife and I had the wedding planned, way back in 2000, in the traditional way, but in the end we said feck it and went to a little town in Scotland called Stoneyhaven, about half ways between Edinburgh and Aberdeen and got married there, with just my and her parents along with.
We had a great time, it was the first catholic marriage in the town in years and the parishioners all turned out too, place was nearly packed!
Lovely meal afterwards too, I had steak topped with haggis. yum yum!!

So, which one of you is dressing as Mario and which as Peach?
Come on now, the Nintendo mod simply has to have a Nintendo wedding!
Or, maybe, just save the first dance to be to the opening theme of Mario Kart DD!

For our upcoming wedding the tables are named after cartoon and video game characters from our childhood. The name and a character pic on each table.

Representing games we have Mario, Sonic, Yoshi, Bowser and Donkey Kong.

Cartoons are Tom and Jerry, Animaniacs, Noddy, Snoopy, Garfield, Bosco, Pinky and the Brain, Turtles, Micky and Minnie Mouse, Taz.

Thanks lads! Well I've taken the money I haggled off the ring and bought a few tonnes of gravel and cement for a new floor for my games room..so I'm not licked yet.

Wedding is all pretty much planned out. Registry office on a Friday and a party on the Saturday. I've zero time for churches and stuff like that so I'll be going and very untraditional route, things might get wierd....I sold one of my pins to buy the ring so I've been informed that I'll be getting a new pinball as a wedding present...which is nice

Which ones? The "I can get that for 10p" ones or the "I still have my MD and (unprompted list of their collection)"

The kicker being that ladbib article just straight out lifts off Racket Boy's guide, which hasn't been updated in eons since Racket's pretty much moved on and the site's on the downward ever since.

I've said it before, but if I ever inherited or won millions, one of my first actions would be to buy the Lad Bible and replace its current stream of nonsense with serious cultural & literary criticism.
