I assume it's the usual "your old console could be worth a fortune" clickbait shyte, which has people think a gameboy is worth €500.

"MINT VINTAGE RARE GAMEBOY FOR SALE. In perfect condition, missing the battery cover, has Fanta residue all over it and does not power on. Asking €725 no offers. Worth over €1000 because Facebook told me so."

I've been playing my favourite PS3 game - Motorstorm Apocalypse in 3D on a 55" TV tonight, and oh boy, what a sight to behold!

The 3D is excellent in the game, and with debri, water, thugs and other objects getting in your face it ads another dimension to the game.

I've also tried wipeout Fury HD in 3D but it's pretty subtle.

Such a shame that Evolution Studios ere closed,
this game would be amazing in VR.

Anyone using Parcel Wizard from DPD for deliveries? Good service?
I'm looking for a change from Parcel Motel and they seem cheaper for the home deliveries.

I used it once and seemed fine. They text you a time slot when they're going to deliver which is handy and you can reschedule too.

Ah cool. So its basically the same as what they do with there normal courier deliveries? I get a good few packages from them and the text and reschedule is very good.
€3.85 just seems too cheap and to good to be true. Parcel Motel offer the same home delivery service(which I use) for €7.95 per delivery.

€3.85 for home delivery? That's pretty good...do they offer a UK postal address ala Parcel Motel?

I think you can re-schedule for a fee or pick it up from the depot.

    Rooting about under a stairwell.

Finally, exclamation mark.. I felt the need to buy this at some point, as a kid.

I never found out if Gay Byrne Distributors Ltd. were linked to the presenter or not. They were based off of Pearse Street, Dublin City, if I recall. Very early to mid 1980s.

Good supplier, any weird cartridges for the Vic-20 or Texas usually came from them, along with stock for oddities like the Oric and MSX. All my Level 9 text based adventure purchases arrived courtesy of them.

I may have picked this up in Harry Moore, bottom of Grafton Street, or The Big Byte, Dún Laoghaire, South County Dublin, I forget.

Quick look at the company registrar says the company was created in 1984 and dissolved in 2003 (registered in Tallaght, but they may have had a shop in the city).

That Big Byte in Dun laoghaire, I wonder is that the shop that I ended up buying a load of old stock from the owners daughter(the owner passed away a year or two ago and had a load of retro stuff from the shop stored away).

Another Kickstarter, though might be some note to a few here.
Mother to Earth is a documentary about the secret history behind one of Nintendo’s biggest cult classics - Mother - better known in North America as Earthbound Beginnings. This game is the first installment in a fan favorite series which brought us many memorable characters, such as Ness and Lucas, which many Nintendo fans may recognize from the Super Smash Bros. series.

It's got the always fantastic Roo involved, so it bodes well for a fan-made ditty.

I went down to centra one morning to get CDR's for legitimate backup's of my full dreamcast set (I always noticed them behind the counter, and tesco didnt have any) and when they were actually pulled off the shelf, it turns out they where CD tapes.
    Pic related.

€3.85 just seems too cheap and to good to be true. Parcel Motel offer the same home delivery service(which I use) for €7.95 per delivery.

I've had 29 deliveries with them since December and don't use Parcel Motel anymore.

I even ordered 100W R80 light bulbs once and they all came undamaged from the UK, even though there was no bubble wrap or filling around the individual boxes.

Obviously your own experience will depend on the driver in your area.

If you pay in advance of them receiving the parcel, you'll have it the next day.

Even if you pay straight after the notification that says they have your parcel, you'll be waiting 2 days.

The map is really cool too, so you can see where your driver is a bit like halo, but its not real time, you need to refresh the page.

The only con is that you cant see how many topups you have on their website atm.

When they received your package they let you know how many you have let.

They have 2 representatives on Boards also who are really helpful.

I'll link you to their thread in my next post.

    Here you go Steve:

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057517076

They're very lenient on oversized and overweight items also.

I ordered this big sucka using one of the my first free deliveries back in December and they didn't charge me anything:

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00KY055GU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I'm delighted with their service so far.

Did you ever miss a package ? Had a look on their website and it doesn't really say what happens

Nope, but they would just bring it back to the Depot in your area. No charge or fine also if it happens i'm pretty sure.

This was on Joe.ie this morning,

    http://www.joe.ie/tech/great-news-retro-gaming-fans-the-commodore-64-is-on-its-way-back/540979

Indiegogo for C64 (called The 64) with games, sounds like more copyright issues.
