Their T&C's seem to suggest they're liable in such a case:
Our Liability howsoever arising and notwithstanding that the cause of any theft, loss or damage be explained or unexplained shall not exceed:

    a) The replacement value of any goods or merchandise stolen, lost or damaged OR

    b) EUR €100 (one hundred euro) whichever shall be the least

We shall not in any circumstances whatsoever be liable for indirect or consequential loss such as (but not limited to) loss of profits, loss of market or the consequences of delay or deviation however caused.

Do The Game Collection not have proof of delivery themselves? I had something similar happen before and it was the place I bought it from that I took issue with, not necessarily Parcel Motel. If it did arrive in Parcel Motel and it did go past their system than definitely their fault but without being able to say it arrived there I can see why they wouldn't be liable as, imo, the burden of proof for delivery is on The Game Collection.

Well, looks like being a bit mean works.
The package has had a proof of life photo sent to me from Parcel Motel :pac:
I should have it tomorrow, and let the suffering begin.
Does mean I have this evening to finish Batman Arkham Knight though... While Fallout 4 sits in its wrapper....

    Or maybe Dark Souls 1 & 2? :p

    Or Demon's Souls....
So, 12 hours, enough time to clear them all???

In my defence, I finished Bloodborne... not the DLC but the main game...

Don't bother opening it. It's good but not exactly essential. It's more post apocalyptic farcry than actual RPG and it's a game I suspect in a few months we will look back on and think, 'it wasn't that great' like with GTA4.

I enjoyed every moment I spent in GTA IV, and Fallout 3 was fantastic, though I treated it like a big FPS rather than an RPG, similar to Mass Effect 2 in this respect, but it was a game I spent an awful long time with nevertheless.
So, finding time to play Fallout 4 is going to be nigh impossible, but I'll get to it, someday

Quite liked Far Cry 2, would have been perfect if not for the respawning enemies at the checkpoints dotted around the landscape.

Eventually got moved into the new house. It's a house of boxes and bags for the moment, but I'll get unpacked over the next 2-3 weeks(5-6 months probably).

Question, how would one go about safely removing brown packing tape residue from a plastic bezel on a candy cab? :(
Don't know how it happened, but some got on my Egret 3.

Brillo pad any residue off should be grand!

I think I used some window cleaner and a microfibre cloth to get some of the leftover brown parcel tape off something before, it was years ago so not 100%

Wouldn't a Brillo pad be a bit harsh for the plastic? It's just a bit of residue, but more than enough to bug the hell out of me :)

Sorry I meant to put a joke face after the brillo pad comment haha!

I could have used something like goo gone, or our tesco equivalent to be more accurate

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,790 ✭✭✭eddhorse

Goo Gone seems to be good on the other forums and interwebs.

Brillo pad will take the shine off also. As will wet dry sandpaper.

I used stove cleaner for shifting the grime on the Astro.

I'd try Goo Gone first. Not sure on alternative.

Cheers guys, I'll take it slow and try some very light cleaning to see how it goes. I think I have some of the goo gone stuff in a box somewhere.

Steve your inventory is like Batman's utility belt!

I wouldn't be surprised if you actually had Shark Repellent Spray in storage and forgot about it!

We still talking about GTA IV here? Yeah, it was such a massive letdown.

All the disappointment at the time must have been lost in the sun bright glare of near universal praise!
I know there were elements that people didn't like but it was an ambitious project that no one else came close to replicating and the only games better at doing what it was doing were other GTA titles.
Certainly it was superior to the bloat that was San Andreas.

I never really enjoyed it. The new car physics just weren't fun at all compared to the more exaggerated Hollywood driving physics of previous games. Every mission was a variant of drive here, shoot some guys, drive away and lost the variety and silliness that made previous GTA games so much fun. The friends mechanic was a disaster while the focus on a more 'mature' story was completely at odds with the gameplay and was just badly written, terribly so in parts such as Bruce which was trying too hard to do comedy. The DLC at least let the player have a bit more fun and GTA5 was a return to form.

As for nobody replicating or coming close to what Rockstar was doing at the time, a few weeks before GTA4 was released Saints Row 2 came out. It wasn't the technical marvel GTA 4 was but it was a far, far better game that was actually fun as opposed to whatever GTA4 was.

I feel the media really got caught up in the hype machine at the time and many of the better ones have acknowledged that, eurogamer has done some very good articles about it.

Haven't really bothered with any GTA stuff since Vice City, not sure if I'm missing out on much..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,388 ✭✭✭Doge

Didn't feel GTA 4 either. The cars handled like boats, and had far too much understeer. The characters and story felt bland and it was like a chore to complete the game.

GTA V was an immense improvement, but you know what?

I got bored with it and haven't gone back to it yet!

I think I'm just too used to the GTA formula by now, and it doesn't do much for me anymore.

The usual drive here, do a mission, do a side mission.

It could also be that I just don't enjoy video games as much as I used to and find it hard to concentrate on one game for hours. I tend to go through phases with interests.

I might go back to it again someday,.haven't played the FPS current gen version yet, just the PS3 one.

I thought GTA V was great, everything IV wasn't.

Still don't think any of them come close to Vice City though, that game was pure magic.

I agree with the negative GTA IV comments, it didn't do it for me at all.

Less than a year later I bought GTA Chinatown Wars on release for the DS and thought it was vastly superior.

Sure it was a simple top-down GTA rather than a big blockbuster like IV but more importantly it was fun.

We've been here before, but I'll happily continue to defend GTAIV in one key area: its gameworld. I never got bored of simply driving around its Liberty City. The sense of scale, detail and place was at the time unparalleled, and frankly for all its improvements elsewhere it's something I don't think GTAV captured quite as well. Driving through IV's equivalent of Times Square remains a remarkable sort of experience - a perfect cacophony of visuals, noise and people. Even just driving from the opening area to the 'Manhattan' island feels like something really special - each of the districts has its own identity, layout and feel.

It was absolutely a deeply flawed game, but yeah Liberty City remains one of the great gaming worlds IMO, and it easily sustained my interest even despite the endless bland gunfights. And while GTAIV didn't quite succeed with its more serious minded tone, I think the puerile, OTT nonsense of Saints Row goes the opposite direction and is silly to the point of mere stupidity.

I'm another that feels that they've never been better than in Vice City. That was a masterpiece.

Agree with Johnny that IV floored me with it's world, but I disagree about V on that regard, I spent most of my playtime in V just exploring and having fun that way. (Let's face it, the story itself was not that fun for the most part). I really enjoyed taking a motorbike and following dirt trails over the mountains, or making my own way where there were no trails. Or taking a sports car that should never have been able to get up there to the top of the mountains!

Saint's Row has gone completely stupid but 2 had the perfect balance for me. It was an actual open world and it embraced that fact. Recent GTA games once you start a mission the game world becomes scripted, something that started since GTA Vice City but it's every mission now. The designers seem to want to tightly control the experience for the player, making it much closer to a scripted linear game whereas Saints Row 2 embraced the open world mentality which made the game a whole lot more fun and interesting.

    I'm sure I've a can around somewhere :)

Oh, warm water and some fairly liquid removed the packing tape residue. I went for "quiet" packing tape. Quiet being that it doesn't make that horrible sound when pull large amounts off the tape roll quickly. Maybe that's why it came off with just soap?
