Nope, you take double damage. Ganondorf screws you over. Full amiibo trailer:

Ah cool, I had just read the Eurogamer article that mentioned double damage, hadn't seen the video till now.

Disappointed by that comment. Nothing wrong with what I wrote. I must never say anything about amiibo in a new game? This affects 2 games with no alternative, never mind paying for the likes of arrows(a line of code). My comment is fair game, without being offensive, which it does deserve.

Yes, but everytime Amiibo is mentioned in a game you roll out the same commentaries about paywalls and Nintendo being unfair, yet again.

You can, of course, make any comments you like, as long as they abide by the site rules.
But, conversely, you have to expect people to react to what you say, and those responses aren't always going to agree with you, raising the fact that you have made very similar comments in the past is also fair game.

I find myself reminded, on a regular basis, by posters about several habits of mine.
Not all the time, but often enough.
    And that's fair game too.

This is not the site to be on to expect everyone to simply agree with each other, respect for each other extends to how we deal with constructive criticism, which was my initial post to you.

Won't deliver to Ireland. With Parcel Motel it's about the same price as thegamecollection. It's a good deal if you're British.

Can't see the bundle on tgc's site. Maybe they stopped taking preorders

Pre ordered the special edition off amazon :)

There's gyroscope aiming in TP HD and you only need tap the gamepad to transform between wolf and normal Link.

No!!! Please remove that video. I f***ing hate them. They're clueless and fake. Must find alternate video source. I refuse to acknowledge their existence and haven't watched their videos in years.

Nintendo's daily Tweet from the Japanese Zelda Twitter account. It shows some concept art of Midna.

Looks like Amazon are now able to deliver the Amiibo bundle to Ireland, but not the standalone.

Looking at still images of the new trailer on neogaf isn't really a good thing. Seems some HD models don't look right

That's a nice trailer. I always loved the music in this game. I really like that edited track from the end of the trailer. Which reminds me of something but won't happen unfortunately, the game should be fully orchestrated.

    - view the whole map of a dungeon while inside one
    - freely move the camera angle with the right stick
    - off-TV play

    Miiverse stamps

    - 50 in total
    - consist of Hyrule alphabets and the emotional faces of Link and others
    - post directly to Miiverse from in-game

    Hard mode

    - world is mirrored
    - Link receives twice as much damage

    Wolf Link amiibo

    - put in a record number of your adventure on the figure
    - scan on the title screen and skip save data selection and instantly start the game
    - some sort of checkpoint system that lets you jump to different parts of the gam

    Ghost Torch

    - used on Poes
    - allows you to pinpoint their position even during the day

Finally, it's also worth noting that basic action movements like horse riding and swimming are being improved. There's also some areas that are being tweaked in order to make them easier to understand.

Has it been confirmed that you can use the Pro controller? Or is it to be assumed that it would be standard?

I'd say it will most probably have Pro controller support. Also, Nintendo should make it compatible with the Gamecube controller adapter, it is the original control method afterall and I think that it could well happen.

Zelda: Twilight Princess HD file size, Wii U Pro Controller supported

A separate game page on Nintendo's Japanese website offers up a few extra Zelda: Twilight Princess HD details. The game itself is 4509MB, or 4.5GB. It's actually up for pre-load on the Japanese eShop right now. 3 save slots are available for each user, weighing in at 256KB per file. Zelda: Twilight Princess HD will work with the Wii U GamePad, complete with off-TV play. In addition, the Wii U Pro Controller is supported.

I have to say, the first thing I'd be turning off is gyroscope controls, motion controls have never improved a Legend of Zelda game up to now, I don't think they'll help in this case either.
Pro controller support is welcome, probably wind up being the best way to play the game.
Interesting that, as a part of hard mode, they've included a mirrored world, given that the Wii version was mirrored in the first place.

Speaking of the Wii version, I've had it sitting in its cellophane for a couple of years awhile now, I assume it should be looking at shifting it if this HD version isn't fundamentally screwed?

What's the likelihood of the limited edition not selling out entirely?

Can't really justify paying for it at the moment but want to pick it up at some point.

I think it's very likely. I think it's overpriced. I preordered it back in November when less was known about it. As footage has come out I've been less than impressed, be it the graphics, the unchanged midi music, charging full price for very little work of a 10 year old game, etc. I cancelled my Smyths pre order this morning, still have it pre ordered with thegamecollection. I'm on the verge of cancelling that as well.

Other amiibo bundles have been cheaper after their release, e.g. Yoshi's Woolly World, Mario Party 10 and Splatoon. Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water and Xenoblade Chronicles X were the opposite, going up in price instead but they had small limited production runs and weren't freely available at most retailers. Something that I'm sure won't happen with Twilight Princess.

Zelda is 30 years old exactly today. It released in Japan on the 21st February and it's now that date there.

This promotional video from Nintendo themselves partly shows why I've cancelled my final pre order from thegamecollection for the amiibo/soundtrack bundle. Well, really I asked them would it be possible and when was the last date to do so. But they went ahead and cancelled it anyway. I'll buy it when it's cheaper as I'm fairly confident it will be sooner or later.

You say that, but Windwaker HD has only got more expensive since launch. First party Nintendo for you.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,470 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

True but if you look at the recent amiibo bundles they've nearly all gone down in price. I don't think Wind Waker had a massive print run, the Limited Edition certainly didn't. It was weak compared to what Japan got but that's another story. Anyway, I've ordered in now on Zavvi. I just can't make up my mind on it. I don't want to support amiibo or a mediocre effort and charging full price for a remaster. I could just buy the solus game but I want the soundtrack and it's better value for the bundle.

I have never had so much zero interest in a product as this one, well maybe for the recent Animal Crossing titles.
Problem for me is that the game represents such a marginal improvement over the Wii and GC originals, it should be a budget title bundled with Wind Waker HD at this stage.
I've become slightly cynical of late, and watching the habit across formats to release HD remasters of titles, at least some have had the decency not to charge full price or release as a collection, like the Ico/Shadow of the Colossus pack for the PS3.
In fact, Nintendo seem to have forgotten their very own Wind Waker release on the Wii, which included Ocarina of Time and the Master Quest as well, on a bonus disk.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 33,733 ✭✭✭✭Myrddin

^^ Agreed, it represents poor value (good point about the Wind Waker Wii release featuring OoT & MQ). This needed to be a €30 game, not a full price release. However, us Zelda fans are over a barrel because Ninty know we will buy it, & we will. So the lesson here for any budding Zelda fans is, run, now, while you can...save yourselves...

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,431 ✭✭✭MilesMorales1

Didn't wind waker HD release for 45/50? Cheaper than a 65 quid price tag.

Would this be the same for Smyths? Payment taken on Wednesday? They say delivery should be on launch day. Do Smyths usually deliver then? Or is it a day or two after release?

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,431 ✭✭✭MilesMorales1

Presumably Thursday for Symths? Since it won't have as far to come. Dispatch on Wednesday for TGC, should get it in my parcel motel locker for friday morning.

Dunno about delivery with Smyths, I'd imagine it's done at dispatch. I know with collection they only charge you when you pick it up from the shop.

You can, but you have to request it on the site. It's a bloody pain as it all depends how long it takes them to reply to your cancellation request. Do it now if you want to cancel.

They really should just have a cancel button.

I find cancelling smyths orders was easy peasy. I clicked 'request cancellation' or whatever the button is, no bother.

30 pounds for twilight princess is less than 40 euro, plus parcel motel is less than 45 euro, so I'm happy enough.
