Despite being absent today, Mahrez is the obvious player to get in. He will be chomping at the bit next week

    That is true.

But I took him 2 weeks back because I don't see him as the player who will continuously produce

So many good options in midfield .
I think Sanchez, Mahrez, Payet and arguably De Bruyne are all pretty much essential now. It's making it very hard to fit the likes of Mata and Mane in though.

Who did you ship him for?

I'd agree, its not going to last the season but I'd wait until the confidence goes out of his play before shipping him. Nobody comes close in his price bracket

5 good midfielders is the way forward. Especially for random occurrences like today

    Nothing random about today!

Probably gonna do a -8 this week and just get it out of the way. Pedro, Ings & Gomez will all need moving on. Pelle, Mane and Berty the 3 I'm looking at bringing in. With a bit of luck the hit might pay for itself straight away, I fancy the Saints to stick a few past Leicester, and Berty can play in place of Francis (away to City)

Didn't quite realise how good of a run Southampton have over the next few gameweeks. LEI, liv, BOU, sun, STO in the next five.

I think I'll go Pedro -> Mata and Gomis -> Pelle pending the international break. I've £0.4m in the bank so could swallow a couple of rises/drops I suppose.

This is a thing alright. I will watch Martial tomorrow to see what he's like even in the bad fixtures. If I'm not pleased I might make that move.

    De Gea & Myhill

    Nyom, Bellerin, Richards, Kolarov, Francis

De Bruyne, Payet, Hoolahan, Mahrez, Sanchez

    Aguero, Vardy, Ighalo

    1 FT & 0.8m ITB

I have to be happy with midfield & attack tbh but the defence are not getting as many points as I'd like. Kolarov being the obvious culprit and my over reliance on ManC needs to be reduced. Thought are very much appreciated!

Does not having Man Utd attacking options not worry you - Mata/Martial?

The Mahrez no show. And we've seen Silva injured in warm up, etc.

    Sako!

    It was a bad decision

Aguero, Pelle, Martial Vardy and Lukaku would disagree

I jumped from Silva to Yaya and back etc, jumped last week to De Bruyne last week and he's outscored Silva. I imagine Silva is happy to be playmaker to both KDB and Aguero. Sterling will be a footnote.

I'd like to have Mata and to a lesser degree Martial but who do I get rid of considering the price brackets involved?

    Mata:
De Bruyne is the better option
    Sanchez is the better option
Payet is the better option so far (because of the price), could jump if Mata continues and I keep money in the bank to do the swap

Wilson/Vardy & Ighalo continue to produce the goods, and for their price, why change it? To get Martial would require downgrading KDB or Sanchez and I rather have them tbh until they stop producing the goods obviously.

I like Mata he's very consistent but never spectacular in FPL

One player not starting is a random GW?? Nope and Ranieri has form for dropping any player for tactical reasons so its not that random.

Top two pointscorers in the game are midfielders, KDB has 35 points in 4 GWs, and most people think Sanchez is now essential. I'd much rather have Ighalo and 3m to put into a 4th/5th midfielder than two of Pelle/Martial/Lukaku to complement Aguero.

I didn't say it was a random GW, I said it was a random occurrence to drop one of the most in form players in the PL. People with strong front 8s and someone like Ighalo coming off are pretty happy tonight

KDB/Sanchez are probably season keepers, while Ighalo is scoring, he hasn't really scored against any top teams so far - Watford don't look like a team that will score 3/4 goals in a game which limits his weekly return (unlike say vardy with Lecister)

Martial is probably the only attacking option that looks like scoring for untied and he'll get the service - price wise at 8.4m he's value compared to other top players at the top teams. United have scored 12 goals so far this season - 9 of which have come since Martial has been in the team.

You don't have to downgrade Sanchez/KDB - you more than likely have Kolorov - just dump him for a cheap defender, CS are hard to come by this season - is it worth having a 6.2m+ defender - which City's attacking options, is he likely to be invoked as much? defensively they aren't the same without Kompany.

Have had a look and can do

    Sako to Mane
    Gomis to Ighalo

Have exact money now! but I know these two will rise soon

Last Int. break I transferred early & had to take hits because then got injuries.

Really want Mane after watching MOTD

  • Registered Users Posts: 20,553 ✭✭✭✭Dempsey

To get Martial requires 2 FT's in that case. Thats not straight forward given that most teams require the 1FT just for 'regular maintenance of the squad'.

Kolorov to a 2 point specialist (which is all Kolarov has been since getting him) and getting rid of Vardy or Ighalo, 2 players that have got me 9 points each today and 2 berths that have been giving me no hassle and no reason to believe that they wont continue scoring well for their price. Martial is a nice player but the interesting question is, can he outscore the likes of Vardy over the course of a season. I'm doubtful tbh because of his age because physically & mentally, you rarely have that consistency of a 26-30 year old.

Tomorrow, he could blitz Arsenal and I'll be revising my opinion very quickly as his attributes as a player are quite surprising for his age.

    He looked very lively,

If you had to choose Payet or Mane, which would be the better option, i already have Pelle, so thinking Payet? It would be Kouyaté out for one of them.

I don't think any of them are near rising so have a day or 2 to think it over.

Is it worth a hit to switch Yaya to De Bruyne though???

Thinking of Evans out for Alderweirald or Dier...

    Is Evans badly injured?

I'm wondering if I should have Silva + KDB along with Kun!

Like last week a -8 appeals to me.

Haz, Gomez & Yaya to De Bruyne, Mané & Bertrand.

If I'd followed through with the -8 last week I'd have been much better off today.

It would also mean The Kolarov Mané would finally own Kolarov and Mané. :)

Have Payet & Pelle already myself. it is looking difficult to get Mane in & if I do get him in il have 2 attackers each from city & Southampton.. to be fair both teams look like scoring for fun at present

I think it is very tough to pick between Payet & Mane but if I was to bet I would score more goals id bet on Mane all day.

Payet will Hoover up on the bps playing for West Ham

Watched City against West Ham & KDB was class. His movement, always involved & chances created were of the highest order.. he out shown all of city's attack.. I wanted him in last week but being away to Spurs & giving Pedro another chance against Newcastle I held off. KDB for me will out score all of City's midfield because of goals scored & he'll chip in with plenty of assists

    As above defo worth doing

If Sánchez was to get a knock to keep him out for a few weeks, or a red for violent conduct tomorrow, it would certainly make the decision of Mane/Payet easier (could just get both)

I think both are great picks.
I have Payet and would like to get Mane aswell.
If I had to choose one it would be a very tough decision although Payet's sheer consistency and his ability to usually get 3 baps would probably swing it in his favour.

yes imo. I couldn't afford KDB for Yaya for -4 before this gw as I wasn't willing to sell Kolarov so I got Coutinho. So I might downgrade Kol and upgrade Cout to KDB

Only thing is you kinda have to make this move before a 2-weeks international break. Hazard home to Villa next too... I mean having kept him that long for getting rid before such an a priori good fixture.

That said, can't argue against any of the 3 you'de be getting onboard.

I wouldn't do it before the internationals. I only have Hazard for2 games, trying to get ahead of the curve on their 'comeback' but it was a mistake. They are toxic. Something is seriously up in that dressing room.

If I'm to get De Bruyne in for Yaya then Hazard would have to go. Otherwise i could just do Yaya to Mane and Berty for Gomez.

    De Bruyne v Bournemouth > Hazard v Villa -4?
