So Eli wants to be paid Rodgers money according to Tom Condon his agent. I'll be amazed if he gets a deal close to Rodgers from the Giants. I think a deal will be reached and this is probably just be a negotiating tactic to make the eventual number look better in comparison to Rodgers deal for both parties.

Rodgers is at $22m a year, I know I Eli is a bad word on here, but he compares with the other two he was drafted with, Roethlisberger who got $21.8m and Rivers at $20.8m, so he'll likely be around the $21m anyway, could even top Rodgers is his agent does a good job.

    Still daft!

A bit harsh given he's been pretty good last year or 2 but still funny...

Calling it early - goodbye panthers and hello 20-odd interceptions for Cam. When he misses, he misses high and that's why this will hurt especially... I think this is probably the 2nd worst player their offense could have lost. Yes, even probably over Greg Olsen.

You took the words right out of my mouth Billy. Offensively, that's them fecked now. It's a tough break for the kid and hopefully he'll bounce back and make a full recovery.

49ers converted another one of their TE's into a draft pick, Carrier to the Redskins for a 5th rounder.

What's he like? I see he only played on 11 games last season so probably isn't great but is he good enough to play and not get embarrassed each week? Has to be better than what the Redskins have left standing though but that wouldn't be hard.

Probably more of a blocker than a pass catcher I think. Would have been battling for the third TE spot on the 49ers behind Davis and McDonald.

With the Paul injury probably makes sense for the Redskins but I'd imagine Reed will still be the main guy, Carrier probably coming in on 2TE sets, assuming he makes the final roster.

What do we make of Jaryd Hayne?

His highlight runs are impressive but I can't help thinking he's playing against reserves, and there's a lot of runs like that in preseason.

Everytime he does anything it gets a lot more hype by the media than if it was any other rookie. I'm sure the aussie market is attractive to the NFL so will put his highlights on the front of every highlight show for the next few weeks.

Fair play to him, better to be making these runs in preseason than not anyway.

Mariota is the real deal fo shizzle, should have had a TD but McCluster dropped the pass with no one near him in the endzone

I think he's looking at being the starting punt returner at the very least and will get work on special teams too.

He's making some good cuts in the open field.

I wouldn't rate him too highly at running between the tackles yet, but as a punt returner he's showing some good vision.

to much potential for him to not make the team hes raw but by 12 months time you could have a really really good starting running back there

He's a special talent with the ball in his hands and as he played fullback in League, returning the ball comes naturally to him as he would have a chase line in his face everytime in matches when the ball would be kicked on the fifth tackle. I agree, I see him mainly on special teams and trick plays this year and with a full year under his belt, he could be close to starting next year.

Great news for the Broncos, for what looked like a very weak line. One year deal, reasonable money. Very happy with this. Was hoping we could snag him but didn't look like we were in the running.
