Great news for the Broncos, for what looked like a very weak line. One year deal, reasonable money. Very happy with this. Was hoping we could snag him but didn't look like we were in the running.

His salary matches the paycut Peyton took in the off-season!

In other news, I see Sky Sports has tied up Sunday night football for the next 2 years, giving them complete dominance on live NFL. I thought the NFL would have liked to have one of the games on Free To Air, guess not!

Bad News, Sky's coverage is awful, much preferred C4 for the late Sunday game.

Eurosport was terrible anyway so no loss there.

Was there not a big thing last year about C4 or BBC or something signing some new deal to show NFL?
Sky Sports will be showing NFL's Sunday Night Football live for the next two years, bringing viewers an additional game a week and taking the schedule to more than 100 live matches a season.

NFL fans with Sky Sports can enjoy more coverage than ever before across TV, online, mobile and tablet devices with at least five games a week across the regular season, every play-off clash, the Super Bowl and the Pro Bowl.

Also new for this season is Monday Night Football, which alongside Thursday and Sunday games, provides viewers with more matches during the regular season. Sky Sports will also be showing exclusively live pre-season coverage for the first time in seven years, as New Orleans Saints host the Houston Texans on Sunday 30 August.

Yeah, not sure I can handle a third SS game on a Sunday night, I enjoyed the turn of pace on C4 with Nate and Carlson. I presume they will keep their highlights show though?

with regards the mathis deal its worked out pretty poor for him he left the eagles because he was not happy with his contract and he's ended up signing for less.

I'd heard that Sunday Night Football on C4 was over but it is still a shame for the NFL that they haven't been able to get any FTA football on TV in Ireland and the UK. Didn't they practically give away the Monday night games to the BBC a couple of years ago for that exact reason? seems strange with the popularity of the game and with the BBC under so much cost pressure that they or C4 couldn't work something out.

That said I've no idea what the ratings for the games are like.

I'll miss the c4 games, used to like sitting up watching em on the big tv, thankfully I'll just hook up the 42 inch monitor to the pc now and not miss a thing.

Still though I did quite like the coverage in c4, I find that sky kinda talks as if you are an idiot with no clue about the sport, like we're up at 1 am on a sunday night, we follow and understand it ffs

Looks like Orlando Scandrick is the latest victim of the dreaded ACL tear! A massive loss for that Dallas secondary

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,794 ✭✭✭raze_them_all_

Acl tears are the worst, especially in nfl as most of them occur without contact and there is **** all you can do to prevent em

Fantastic pick up for the Broncos there. A badly needed acquisition.

Hoyer named starter for the Texans. Not exactly a surprise but like with the Browns, I was hoping they'd roll the dice on the unknown QB. Hoyer and McCown are good game managers but esp with Foster out, I think they might need a bit more of an X-Factor that maybe Mallet could give them. He will certainly see some game time though as I can see Hoyer getting hurt or losing form during the season.

There is a 3rd Sky sports NFL game but have eurosport lost their monday night game too?

Is it from this season or just next?

Use to always record the C4 game and watch it over the course of a couple of days in the evenings - would really miss that

Yeah seems to be sky, 1 on Thursday, 3 games on Sunday plus 1 on Monday.

Loved the C4 coverage with Nat, Mike and the other contributors they had on.

    Huge loss.

They're both absolutely crap. It's like choosing to bleed out from a stab wound or a bullet wound. I'd rather play Timmy Mallet than Ryan.

Yeah they certainly haven't looked too hot so far anyway. I'd still like them to go with Mallet though and Manziel in Cleveland so we will find out just how crap they are. Neither team are winning the Superbowl this year so better to find out if you have a decent long term project at QB which Hoyer and McCown certainly aren't.

    +1.

They only started the highlights show and now they've no coverage (are they still showing wembley games or is it zero coverage?). Big shame.

It's the end of an era with C4 no longer covering American Football. I remember when they started covering the NFL way back in the Eighties. Long before the Sky monolith arrived on the scene.:(

Add Junior Galette of the Redskins to the list of players likely out for the year. Torn Achilles.

"Wilson insists that the Recovery Water “works well,” and that a teammate used the water to heal a knee injury. And if that makes Recovery Water sound more like a scam than a miracle cure, well, Wilson admits he can’t prove that it works.

“Well, we’re not saying we have real medical proof,” Wilson said."

That is seriously reckless. Some high school kid will suffer a concussion playing football, hear that and not wanting to be a pussy, will drink the water and go out and play the next day and get brain damage.

All this talking to god, holier than tho crap was bad enough but now nearly every time he talks he comes across as an arrogant self serving scumbag. Blatantly lying about his water curing concussions to sell his product is disgusting.

Probably my least favorite person in the league.

I love to watch him play, but since the Superbowl win or thereabouts it has just become increasingly unbearable month on month.

Brady has done the exact same thing apparently :o

Though I am skeptical about the claims.

Nano bubbles. I mean for **** sake. That's some dangerous nonsense to be pedaling, if the NFL are serious about concussions they have to come out and assert that he's talking through his nano bubble.

I serioulsy doubt that myself, because unlike Wilson, he has too many brain cells to believe in hogwash.

No, he just preaches about crazy strict dieting and workout regiments.....even I cringe when you hear him talking about it.

His "cheat" is "ice-cream" that's made entirely from vegetables....
