I can't remember which embedded episode it was, but it was during the phone call that I felt Chad got to Conor! Not the other way around. Chad seemed relaxed and like he was having fun. When Conor got out of the car he called him a prick (or something similar) and looked visibly annoyed!

Either way, I'm really looking forward to this. Ordered BT sports for €5 for June and July. Didn't think I'd like Chad as much as I do, but if anyone was to beat Conor at 145 I think I'd like it to be him!

Where dare I ask did you get BT for a fiver?

How are people feeling about Pendred-Howard?

I've one person telling me Pendred will win easy and another telling me he'll probably be beaten. Haven't put too much time into watching him myself.

Howard's on the decline. Pendred will win by split decision, in bland fashion as usual though.

Where can I watch? Anyone have links? (the press conference)

Chad could do so much as change facial expression and people would go wild, I really don't see how he seemed rattled at all in that press conference.

Some good answers, I liked how he answered the Texan. They bounce off each other nicely, with Poirier I just felt bad because he was getting bullied in these media exchanges but Chad can handle himself.

Got to say I'm sick of the American media coming up with crap like "McGregor is the biggest sports star in Ireland", "the greatest athlete that Ireland has ever had". It's nowhere near accurate and completely patronising. And if another Irish fighter comes along and challenges for a MMA title at some stage (which is a well within the realms of possibility IMO) then that fighter will be the "greatest athlete in the history of Ireland since Conor McGregor'".

Really gives you the impression that the MMA media are completely removed from other sports, particularly non-American sports.

Ariel Helwani is more than just "someone" in the world of MMA bud. :D
One of the leading MMA journalists, but he was exaggerating a bit in fairness. An All Ireland final is bigger every year than any MMA fight, no matter what anyone says, let alone Italia 90!

See the official UFC account put up the EA sports simulation of the fight? McGregor wins in that so it must be guaranteed!...:D :D:D

You can cancel before the 7 days are up.
The free trial won't give you the main card though so you won't see McGregor v Mendes with it.
It's another €18 to see that.

They really are going out of their way to jinx this fight!

First Conor's "champion" fight kit for sale online already, and now this. He's under such pressure to win this, I don't think UFC think they know what they'll do if he loses.

True, someone at the presser referred to the fight as monumental for the country and the biggest thing since Italia 90 :pac:

That sounded very much to me like Helwani asked a couple of Irish fellas how big a moment in Irish sport this fight is, and they gave him the Italia '90 answer. It's unlikely that it meant anything in and of itself to a Canadian born mma reporter who was 8 years old at the time

"Chad's last gate was $545,607. That's absolutely embarrassing. That's less than my show money."

Anybody know if you can just sign up for a month with the Setanta sports package and then cancel it after the fight if they have nothing else that you want to keep?

Or are there cheaper ways of watching the fight.

    Cheers.

You can buy it on UFC.tv for 15 euros, not sure if you get the prelims or not.

Two very good SevereMMA interviews, very rudely interrupted by Gareth Davies. What an absolute arse.

    :pac::pac::pac:

Because comparing a fight night to UFC189 with an interim belt on the line that was supposed to be a title fight involving the champ is fair :pac:

Whatever about money, at least Mendes has worked his way to top the right way. So excited to see this fight, would love for Mendes to shut that gob up.

Mendes journey to a title fight was certainly no tougher than Conor's. This seems to be a mantra repeated by people who don't like Conor, despite the fact that's it factually incorrect and has been pointed out many times.

That's hilarious, Andrew couldn't have dealt with him any better the second time. Ignorant stuff from Davies, deserved to be called out on it.
