There are a few marks on the White plastic around the inside on the front drivers window and a bit of dirt in the cup holders et.c . Now none of it is bad the car is quite clean its more just me being fussy but would a bit of warm water and washing up liquid and sponge be ok the clean it with just get the marks off and use a dash cleaner for the rest of the interior.

My car has half LED/half halogen as standard. The rear lights are all LED, apart from the license plate bulbs! I'll try to get pictures of mine at some stage, I'd be surprised if someone could describe them as tacky.

if it lends itself to the car so well, why didn't the manufacturer put LED's there? sounds like they already had access to one or two.

I'm not being dragged into that debate. Sure why does anyone make any modifications to their car if the manufacturer thought the original looks better?

Anyone else pissed off with all the vote yes/no signs lying on the roads?

People taking them off should be ashamed. Imagine having to brake harshly whilst there's a wheel on one...

    YES!

I'm not saying that there's a definitive answer in any case, because it's all personal taste and preference. Just saying I think the way I've done it myself doesn't look tacky at all.

of course it's all personal taste :).

Got my oil changed in my 156 three weeks ago. I'm sticking to 6k miles oil change intervals.... Now I need my oil changed in another three weeks.... Not sure the 156 1.6 was built for this mileage but it's working well.

This has been a chronically expensive few months for the Alfas.........:pac:

in a similar boat myself, doing 5k mile oil changes. There's something very satisfying about doing big miles in an unconventional (to most) car. Until last week i was doing a 120 mile a day commute in the celica.

So I opened the boot today and noticed you know the plastic pieces at each side of the boot that square it of and normally have a light in them and the parcel shelf sits on. Well one side was missing svrews and was loose which there is nothing worse than loose bits of trim. So I went to halfords as I wasn't doing much else got the closest screws I got find the ones on the car are hex head halfirds cross head but other than that they are the same. So at least now I have a secure parcel shelf.

Also when I was in halfords I got one of these new tyre air freshners to see what they are like they clip behind the mirror which I like as hanging air freshners annoy me.

Finally got the laser blue lights and they are certainly whiter than normal bulbs so I'll have to wait till darkness to see Ill through up a picture of them.

I actually need those exact screws for a number plate I think.
I'm sure they're 1000% markup in that package but rather than messing around somewhere else to get em...

Anyone know if there is a standard / common size number plate screw? Do these look right?

Well considering you can buy 1000 standard screws in a hardware store for sub 10 euro they are expensive. But either way are kind of cheap when you think that they are a rather specific screw you are looking for and make for a very cheap fix when it comes to car stuff. Plus I used my axa discount card.

Edit: they had screws with white caps for number plates maybe they would be better.

As far as I know, all that's gone wrong with this engine is a few coils so far. Let's hope it stays that way :pac:

Oh Ye just incase people thought I was joking here is a part of the Clifford alarm there is sensors on each piller too. I honestly don't see the point of it considering the car already has a security system from the factory I could think of better ways of spending 500 quid. Anyway sure at least it will protect my ubber rare highly sought after car :pac:

€500 quid... Minimum of near double that for even a basic clifford supplied and fitted imo.

Maybe the last owner worked in a bad area? was it a woman owner, it could have black jax etc?

Tbh I know nothing about them but the sensors in the front seem to be motion heat sensors which I suppose the car wouldn't have. I noticed wires running around the engine bay granted it is a neat job the wires are running around with the looms not slung across the engine or anything. It is probably the basic system there is no seperate fob so once you have the keycard it will start the car so it must be wired into the cars own system to recognise the keys and stuff.

From what I was told the previous owner was a man who worked in some rougher parts of dublin the odd time. But would a Clifford alarm really make the car much harder to rob than a normal megane 3 with its factory security system.

After some looking in the passenger footwell I found which model is in the car this is it here. So it's a canbus system that integrates into the car own systems.

    http://www.clifford.co.uk/ProductPages/Factory_Upgrades_330X3.html

Just looked up what the starterkill was so once the car is locked and the system is armed it completely disconnects the starter motor so you can't start the car it won't even crank. Which sounds cool.
