NCT is due in July. If I get it done and pass it between now and then will I still have to do the July test?
I want to sell the car but don't want to wait until July.

    Thanks

If you NCT it now (and pass) it'll be valid until July 2016 or 2017 (if car's less than 10yrs old).

That door looks all wrong. Did they let an auctioneer do the photoshopping or what?
    Looks good apart from that.

Parking it at the end of the karussel is a nice touch but the car itself should never make production for all our sakes!

I've some Hella spots for the Jimny to pick up during the week. Figure out a system to wire them up now. And a mounting bracket.

I think I need my glasses tested again, but I think it looks like a dyson if I squint hard enough

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,306 ✭✭✭Mycroft H

If I've a car with it's NCT expired since 31/8/14 and it's NCTd now, will I end up with a cert for 12 months? Is it considered early testing.

No. You'll have to wait until the 01/09 to get a years test.

If I test it any date beyond 31/5, I'll get the cert for 15 months no?

Do think so cheif, you'd have to do a second one afterwards to get it for 15 months . Stupid, but not the end of the the world, should fly the second one if you do it a week or 2 after :).

Happened me when I bought the last car. Choose to drive it without an NCT for 7/8 weeks so I got a years test intstead of only a month or so.

Thanks everyone for their nice words and congratulations :)
Just got back from the hospital and the car seat is ready to go.
Congrats, as a side note; usually when people have their first child logic goes out the window and they suddenly feel the need to go out and buy a people carrier, just incase you get that urge I can reassure you a normal car is just fine. I have been there.

I just had to answer this... I will not neigh NEVER buy a people carrier.
The Accord SW will do just fine until she calfs over and even then I won't buy one.
Don't like them at all :)
So far my sanity has kept me away from stupid purchases but there is this nice 80s Masserati for sale next to me which I'm putting a deposit on :p:D

Congrats. A daddy is a girl's first love. And you're the only guy who'll never break her heart.

That's a lovely post, very very nice indeed.
Congrats bear1. Hope that thesis comes with isofix.

It does, I've the other car seat set up in that as well as I think the wife will use that for a while cause the Punto is a bit on the small side.

People complain about a bird crapping on their car came out this evening after work to find 9 on my car no exaggeration 5 on the front / bonnet, 2 on the rear, 2 on the passanger side. How is it even possible now maybe they were on it this morning as at 6.15am I wouldn't be paying much attention to the outside of the car just straight in and head to work.

Wrong type though  Id say it must be a form of punishment for buying silver. All joking a side I actually like the silver looks well when it's polished up and kind of suits the car.

Whatever about bird sh*te but arriving to the car and seeing fat pigeons using it as a super fun happy slide is a bit more irritating... And they're still waddling over my cars! :(

I got stopped under pearse st bridge yesterday morning

The freshly washed car was then **** bombed from on high by some sort of mutant Bird

The bonnet, windscreen, every door, rear windscreen and boot were all hit

Car was destroyed windscreen alone had four giant blobs

Agreed. Was driving out of town the other day, was talking to a friend in the car and I genuinely thought I knocked someone down with the noise from its sh1t hitting off the bonnet, all over the windscreen and on the roof. And of course, I had the car washed two hours before this incident - just my luck!! :p

It's not too bad if you wipe it off within a day but if you leave it too long it becomes a disaster.

I could weigh in here, but I don't want to jinx anything. :P
