Plus I have a favourite pump in Topaz. I always fill until the handle clicks and pump 2 is the only one in town where the petrol doesn't splash back out when this happens. :)

    A favourite pump.......I've heard it all now:pac:

I'd say that'll solve it then FN, battery issues cause mayhem with all new cars.

I'm hoping so, it's the first port of call anyway! Anyone have a recommendation for batteries that I could pick up quick that are decent?

    Varta!

I have a yausa battery in my golf I've never heard of them before that but they are good batteries from what I have read. It certainly has never failed to start my golf even after 7 or 8 days lying up first touch of the key it goes.

Bosch and varta are good too.

I don't think so, I was on my way up there on night, saw the sign off and lights off once I hit the roundabout so just doubled back.

That Spar is across the road from me and I never get petrol there. I did once and I got it into my head that the needle dropped very fast. With that said, I drive a 3 litre twin turbo so it's going to drop fast anyway but the petrol from Topaz lasts longer. Maybe my imagination!

Kinda annoying, I always get my diesel there and only go elsewhere if im very stuck.. I even have one of those cards that ive to scan everytime I buy something :)

What are you driving do you mind me asking? There cant be much roads around Thurles you can have fun with that :D

I need to find a diesel pump like that! I Hate when the diesel splashes out when your taking the nozzle from your car, takes a while to get the smell of diesel off your hands :pac:

If they don't stop asking me for that bloody card I'm going to smack them in the mouth!!! I've told each of them that I just do not give a fvck about it but they still insist on annoying me for it!

I have a BMW 335i. No, there's not many roads where it can be enjoyed, that is true. I have found them however :D

What do you all mean by the fuel splashing out I can't say I've never experienced this. If I'm brimming my car I fill it until it clicks then pull out the nozzle a good bit and keep gently filling it till I can get no more in before it spills out and that's it I can't say it's ever splashed at me.

The man asked me 3 times in the one day to sign up, the third time I just had to give in because he wouldnt let me leave!
Although I did get a free coffee and muffin last week with it :D

Speed cameras on every road into Thurles nowadays! I nearly always meet one on the road from Horse & Jockey into town, and I got caught last month by one at the Co-op on the Templemore road.
Road from Thurles to Twomileborris is lethal too. Always an unmarked van right where the speed goes down to 50, just before the Anner Hotel.

Whenever I take the nozzle out then drops still fall out. And when I say drops, I mean the diesel would get on my hand, shoes and (most of the time) right on the arch under the cap. I'd say it happens 60% of the time to me.

Can't get daysul without getting the filthy slop on my hands. Never had that experience with proper fuel. :p

Fuel never splashes for me, Car's fuel tank is a vacuum, makes a massive whooshing noise like it's trying to steal my soul whenever i remove cap :p

Ah ok get you now what I do is pull out the nozzle until it is just sitting in the filler pipe tilt it to let the excess fuel drain into the tank and then there are no drips. I couldn't deal with drops going everywhere way easier to let it just drain into the tank.

All I do is kinda give the nozzle a shake and then take it out, I should really give it a few seconds though to let it drain!

Its very very noticeable when the car is dirty if it goes on the body when removing the nozzle. Im sure Ive a photo somewhere but I think Ive bombarded boards.ie enough with pictures of my car :pac:

I honestly don't mind the smell of diesel :pac: Probably because I grew up with a tank at the back of the house :P

One smell I certainly do not mind is the smell of petrol and burning rubber.. But thats mostly because I had a rally car for a few years :D

Something I'd love to get back doing!

They went mad putting Tescos in Mayo towns a few years back. One in Claremorris and Ballinrobe and also Westport, could be more in other towns that I don't know. One thing always surprises me is there is none in Tuam, it is a large town by west of Ireland standards and there is only a super value.

Ah ya but it's Tuam......it has no standards... :pac: They have a lidl too mind.

Sorry don't want to go upsetting any Galway people, that doesn't end well. (I spend a lot of my week in county Galway, so it's ok!)

Regarding the fuel thing, never really brimmed the car so don't know how the pump kicks back. I always decide upon a fixed amount to go into the car eg 60 or 70. Never yet had to stop the pump, although the pin does often be at the very top.

Really need to get the car serviced over the Easter break. Gone over by almost 1.5k miles. Just after remembering there today at the last service the mechanic said that the rear brakes I think, had only 30 percent left on them and need to be changed at this service. Started hearing a tiny bit of squealing off them today. It's usually always serviced before time, I'm slipping :o

    Welded diff and Coilovers.
    Hydraulic handbrake.
    Attend the practice days!

2k would easily see you on track :)

Heard on the news there new speed limit signs going up on country roads which are for the driver to decide the appropriate speed without going over the limit obviously.

That may cause some insurance headaches surely?

In Other news, touched up my bumper last night.
I'll still get it sprayed but it's taken the bad look off it for now!

So, dropped a new Yuasa battery into the 5, no luck :(

Mechanic next door to the body shop is going to take a look at the ECU today I think and see if there's anything blown or corroded.

Could be an expensive time ahead.

There's a lot of hope for that!

Worst comes to worst I think it'll need a new EWS and keys. I'll just have to throw it into a specialist next week and hopefully they'll know.

    There's still hope it's a minor flaw somewhere :)

Only Problem is trying to find the fecker!
