Possibly a silly question, but does anyone know if parking discs are transferable across issuing jurisdictions, i.e. is one purchased in Cork usable in Limerick?

I wouldn't say so. Would be very strange if they were.

It would be very bloody handy if they were, for those of us who keep a small stash of the things in the door-pocket and regularly find ourselves in Cork and Limerick cities. :D

You should get a parkmagic sticker.

How would you deal with different prices? It's not even possible to have consistency between the various councils in Dublin and, for visitor parking discs, they are limited to certain streets. How would the revenue be split? What would be easiest is broader more consistent use of a telephone/parking app across various jurisdictions within the state.

    I thought that. Hate Maw-zda.
Then I thought. I'm irish, we pronounce lots of foreign things wrong.
Is the way I pronounce it the right way?
Should we pronounce it the way the Japanese do?
In that case, I'm pronouncing most Japanese stuff wrong.
If I do it right, people will think I'm an idiot....

Far as I know its math-ztha

Option three: Again another red car. Again I'm told this one is really clean but haven't seen it myself. It's a black interior but again that can be changed out. this one has an NCT but the problem with it is is that it is a 3.0. That means it's about 800 a year more on tax and insurance. This is the most expensive of them so far too...

Don't think I've ever posted here, so first of all, howdy folks!

Option 3 is parked on my driveway. For what it's worth, I'm not fixed on that price. Once the remaining tax is up in march, It'll be advertised on donedeal at 1500ish on the current alloys or a bit less on the original 17" ones. Insurance was surprising. Only a couple of hundred more than my last car (it was a 1.4)

Its the way Americans pronounce most words beginning with MA, I here this also when they pronounce Manga, they call it MONG GA.

Does anyone rate KWP water pumps as being good quality?

Looking at this one on ECP: http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/BMW_7+Series_4.0_2005/p/car-parts/car-cooling-parts-and-car-heating/cooling/water-pump-gasket/?201110475&1&a7572be7534b3efbc73cd294d4df01145e3a9fe0&000366

Supposed to be an OEM manufacturer to VW and less than half the price of a BMW one. I normally go OEM but sometimes I wonder if there's any real difference.

The thermostat that went into my E39 a few months back was a BMW unit, you could see the logo and serials shaved off :pac:

Can't see much wrong with something like that KWP, any reviews online?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,661 ✭✭✭Voodoomelon

You mean it was a KWP unit from BMW?

They seem to get decent opinions online.

Had a very quick look at that red golf this morning. Didn't get a chance to talk to anyone but had a quick look around it. Was sure it was a 5 door, but it was a 3. 6 speed 2.0 diesel. Motorcheck says it's a gt tdi, but the front grille doesn't represent that...

Seems to be pretty common anyway, when you search BMW KWP you get a lot of various BMW parts for their cars.

Did it look standard? If so then I doubt it's Simon's as he has the whole TRD kit and different alloys on his which makes it really stand out.

It wouldn't, back then they all had a standard grill. The GTI was the first to get a different grill. It's basically an Irish sportline with air con or sometimes climate control. The GTI got the grill, then the GT 170s and then the face-lift sportlines.

Just ordered 5W LED White markers for my Angel Eyes, anyone know what would be best for white Fogs? Philips WhiteVision?

Assuming it's an e90/91/92 and not an e46?

Looking on donedeal. There's two private sales at 7k and one in a dealer at 10k - which is ridiculously overpriced. I paid that for an '06 535d two years ago.

    Thanks, yeah its an e90

Coming back from Castlerea from NCT was behind a MK1 TT Quattro, roads were faily icy and it was snowing but was going at a fair tilt, it left me for dead, 4wd cheater :p

It was passing me traveling in the opposite direction on the swords dualler, there were bushes in the way and I couldn't really see the wheels or skirts either, only seen the car at the last minute :-)
