Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

nice to see a few areas in the far west getting some flakes, total non event here in the east even in high-ground locations. Hopefully we will much better luck after Christmas into January with something proper from the East!

I've just been over the Wicklow Gap, and walked up the road to Turlough Hill to take a look.

A bit of a dusting on Djouce to be seen from the road. Closer to Glendalough, there's a bit on the top of Camaderry and Turlough Hill and heading across towards Lough Firrib. Couldn't actually see Tonelagee or Lug for cloud, but at the top of Turlough Hill there was about 1cm max of hard crunchy stuff lying on the road surface. A few small drifts under the peat hags too. I'll upload some pictures in a minute ...

Incoming potentially from the north for Dublin, Meath, Louth and Wicklow - but will it get here and will the temperatures drop just that little bit?

    16:00 update from met.ie
Scattered outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow will move down over the country this evening with some snow at lower levels, but becoming much lighter and more patchy as it edges further Southeast.

Not cold enough anywhere yet though.

That pisses me off :/, not even a small flurry here in west clare. But the hills in east clare looked to have a nice cover.
The best we got was sleet at around 2:30 am.

    Hopefully this evening.

A photo of Lugnaquilla today on the following link. Doesn't seem to be a great deal up there - hopefully it will be topped up tonight.

There was nice coating of snow on the motorway from Galway to Limerick this morning. Regretably, it caught 3 motorists by surprise as all 3 had left the road within a half mile stretch of each other. A very heavy garda/ambulance/fire brigade presence was on the road there this morning. Couldnt drive any faster than 50kph along it

All i got from that shower this evening was rain, same oul s#ite. I just want the skies to clear now and the temps to start dropping, they were until that useless shower turned up. 3c atm was down to 2c before the shower.

There's a level 2 inches or so at the top of lugnaquilla and all along its eastern side I hear
It is very very icy up there though, below freezing all day

Had a drive up military road to Sally gap and then down by lough Tay to round wood. Very little snow. Up to Sally gap crossroads was mix between very icy and about 1cm of snow but nearer the crossroads the sun was hitting the road so alouth it was -1 the road bar a couple patches of ice was clear. No snow off the road and could only really see some at top of highest peaks and the cliffs near lough bray were patchy white.

Is it me or is the weather forecast for the coming week the exact same as last week.

Monday is cool with around normal tempertures, Tuesday is mild (10-11c) with rain.
    Wednesday/Thursday a bit cooler with showers/rain.
Friday cool with a chance of wintry showers.
