Which engine did he put in? Your BMW might have more bhp but the light weight of the civic would mean he would take off faster and leave you for a while till he hits the 180km limiter. Damn Japs and their speed limiters.

B16A something or other gone into it, it is definitely much faster than the E39 0-60 and onwards but I'd say mine would pull away eventually. He has it completely stripped out too, hilarious yoke. Mine has 192 but is nigh on 1.5 tons, compared to the shoe of a Civic with at least 160 and mind's automatic too which doesn't help :pac:

It actually came up on my Facebook news feed I didn't look at it but looking the ad there it's crazy looking.

Surly it's not physically possible for that to go over speed bump of any sort it looks seriously low in the pictures pot holes would even be a huge issue I'd imagine.

Power to weight is what it all about on the backroads. A big quiet cruiser is the only job for the motorways. I'm envious of a few mates with their fast jap cars when I'm back home but as soon as I'm 20 miles out the road and onto the motorway for the next 150, I'm glad to be able to relax in a big cruiser.

I had to get a new tyre today. Another hole in the sidewall of a goodyear efficient grip :(. Went for a hankook ventus prime instead. Side wall is much more solid and better reinforced. Lovely tyres the GYs, great grip and wear slowly, but I wouldn't recommend them if your doing any sort of heavy duty driving (rough gravel, ****ty back roads, mounting kerbs to park etc.)

Because Raceism. I think that whole scene is a bit silly to be honest.

A B16A can certainly make more power than the 525'w putting out, calculate loss from rear driven wheels and the auto box, the Civic is probably putting down the same or more power on the road.
I really doubt it's limited too, why modify that much and leave the limiter on it? :p

    Also, love the VIO Lexus.
    Love VIP anything.

A comfy big cruiser is the way to go on our roads I think, throw a tow bar on and bring your Civic to Mondello then!

It is still limited, he hasn't gotten the time to remove it, he thinks it's only at 160 or so now, still only stock.

I've a towbar alright. Just need to get the trailer and track car. Me and two mates have plans to do get one on the go for next summer.

I've had Goodyears and found them good. I had hankook ventus prime on the astra and they were a good solid tyre too although I found grip was greatly reduced when they wore down a bit I suppose that could be said to a certain extend for every tyre. My favourite all round tyre at the minute is the Bridgestone turanzas T001. They are some serious tyre overall and not bad money depending on tyre size.

160 is right for a good stick engine alright. They make power fairly handy, you know who to get him to talk to anyway, or Honda guru. ;)

Here's fairly sorted with his own Honda head anyway alright, now I just have to draw up plans for a Civic project or something equally go-karty :pac:

Ye I think I'll get a set of them bridgestones for the front at some stage, once they've a decent side wall on them. They get very good reviews. I've a goodyear, michelin, bridgestone and a hankook on the car now .

I think there is a bit of give and take with different features on tyres. The hankook seems a small bit noisier and harsher alright but I'll take that over another sidewall hole. I was driving all around the roads of kerry last week where the bumps have names. The axle breaker and the chassis snapper in particular were pretty rough going!

Strange, I had the exact opposite experience of GY's and Hankooks.
Bridgestones are better than both, but noisy on a 159:(

Surprised at the attitude towards the car, thought we were less close minded around here.

I really like the vip look, I love old presidents and laurels etc!
It is getting a bad going over here!

I can understand the guys attitude though.
It's a well known car in the scene and it has a lot If money in it so you can imagine how annoying it would be to have idiots offering him "€7k tonight."

If you are selling a matchbox on wheels you'd get idiots offering you stupid money it comes with the territory of selling.

Once in my life i sold a car as rare as this only one of it's type that i knew of in Ireland/UK and probably Europe, my opening line to the Ad was to point out how rare/exceptional it was - this guy needs a lesson in how to right an Ad, he's not alone though the standard of Ads on donedeal and forums in this country is shocking.

I'm a big fan of the VIP style, I honestly thing that looks and would run terribly, I like cars that look good and are perfectly functional.

Yeah, but the insane camber, which if you want to drive anywhere you'd have to adjust it every time.

Totally drivable like that, there are cars with much more severe camber out the driving.

Yeah but to me it's ridiculous, really the reason I don't like it, just not my kind of car.
