FSA FPL Rate My Team Thread 2014-15

I was in the middle of explaining my team when I realised I didn't like it and had to go back and fix it :pac: Anyway here is the current draft, however long this one lasts. Mainly playing with goalkeepers and defenders and my 8.0 mid:

GK: De Gea and Hamer. It'll be Hamertime if I'm relying on my backup.

Def: I'm still not convinced about my defenders at all. I think I'll stay away from Chelsea until a clearer pattern emerges. I fancy QPR to be tight enough at the back and Caulker gets goals. Clyne may be a bit of a splurge but I fancy them to do well from week 2 on. Bardlsey for Stoke's fixtures and the Tyne-Wear pair for security of starts and decent rotation.

Mid: Ramsey, Mata and Fabregas are what they are and I'm very content right now. Coutinho could be any other 8.0 mid namely Eriksen or Lamela or I rip it up and put in Arnie and Siggy. Marney 5th mid to grab me 2 points and no temptation.

For: Rooney and Costa explain themselves. I've backed away from Studge for now. Listening to my initial reaction of Austin being my 3rd forward. He's been in good form in pre-season and leading QPR's line with decent fixtures.

I have the spine of my team so there's no panic but of those I haven't decided on I really haven't decided on. As I type the Arnie/Siggy combo makes more sense over the 8.0 mid.

Plan is to change chambers to 5m rated defender after first week

Have you 0.5 in the bank to do that transfer?
If not, it'll cost you 4 points and I would switch Rodwell to a 4.5m midfielder and keep the 0.5 for that transfer.

Some may say planning a transfer after GW1 is crazy, planning one that cost you 4 points would be madness.

Don't know about Sanchez I would rather go for Ramsey or Cazorla and upgrade Vaz te to either Bojan or Zarate ( if you want to go for a WHU striker )

Does anyone know if Cameron will start for Stoke? Have him in my team at the moment but want to make sure he'll actually play.

Amazingly my team hasn't changed much in well over a week. Usually I'm tinkering until the last minute. It seems like a lot of people have pretty similar teams with a few differences - Hazard + Ramsey instead of Sanchez + Fabregas, Fletcher instead of Bojan etc. There is so little between these choices and this is where luck comes into it! Just gotta hope you fall on the right side of it.

Here's a thought though. I wonder if everyone can contain their excitement and set a precedent of not starting the Matchday thread until after 6am on the Saturday? I have no idea why but it frustrates the life out of me when people set them up the night before.... It's like it should be a gift to those who have to get up early at the weekend due to kids/work etc

Note: I am never up at 6am on a Saturday... sometimes still out at that time but I'm hardly in any fit state to be posting about FF!

But Sidwell's an awesome shout! First team I've seen with him in and I'm now very tempted to stick him in instead of Young.

Right lads, this is the team with £1m left in reserve. I am not exactly pleased with it. Bojan needs to go as he is not a consistent goalscorer by any means, but I can right work out for who. I'm also a bit unsure on the defense and my second keeper. Any thoughts? Thanks

Fletcher for Bojan? Prove goalscorer at this level, playing for a mid-table side with a decent enough run of fixtures....

Think this is my final team. Bit freaked out not having a Chelsea defender but that allowed me to bring Fabregas back in. Any feedback would be very welcome.

@gufc21 that defence is way too expensive. unless you're inexplicably planning on playing 5 at the back every week!

Hendo. Played every available minute last year, and only scored slightly less than Sterling.

Chambers/Young or Lovren/Marney

The first are more likely to go up in value but will also probably need to be transferred out in the first few gameweeks, and I'd have Young on the bench.

The second pair would just remain in my squad and would free me to make transfers elsewhere early doors.

My Concerns: No Manchester City or Arsenal attacking players has me worried with their threat on front of goal.
