Your first team is actually better IMO as the defense is a lot more solid with United/Chelsea/Stoke and a home option every week from the SUN/NEW rotation. Costa and Sturridge is just personal preference for yourself but if you were to go Costa with the first team the extra money might come in handy? With that in mind you could upgrade Moore to Taylor at Swansea to have United goalkeeper/Chelsea/Home/Home defenders the vast majority of gameweeks.

Chopping and changing between Sigurdsson and Mutch some weeks will drive you crazy as the inevitable Mutch blank at home to Sunderland while Sigurdsson scores a free kick at Arsenal (as an example) would be enough to send you over the edge. I also can't see QPR scoring all that many goals in addition to not being keen on £5m for one of their defenders though I could be massively off on that.

The plan though would be to opt for a United defender when their defence settles - injuries over and any new signings completed. That would leave me with Begovic/Terry/United defender/Newcastle or Sunderland defender every week.

I have decided against Mutch alright. Will take a chance on Isgrove. The 1.5 is there to upgrade if someone around 5 to 5.5 mil has a good start.

I'm actually liking the idea of having 1.5 mil in reserve to make whatever move I need. May save me 4 points.

It humours me how similar so many of the teams already are.

Show us your game changer ;)

I have 1.5 mil in the bank and it's staying there, at least until I know for certain whether Sanchez or Rambo is the man to have. I'm happy with the team I have and any more changes are purely guess work. Like the idea of having a buffer, should I need it. :)

That's exactly the same team as me mate except I have Bardsley to your Pieters, Fletcher to your Bojan and a couple of different subs.

Yeah Bardsley is the safer option, and I guess you could say the same for Fletcher! I want some sort of gamble though :)

I settled on that team a while back and haven't seen any reason to change it.

Team 1 looks better. Change Dzeko for a cheapie, Bojan, Fletcher, Ings, etc and upgrade your defence.

Right last throw at this (PaullyD had a little influence on defs:

    Myhill Krul

Davies Debuchy Cahill Wisdom Van Aanholt

Ram Mata Sterling Siggy Isgrove (Was thinking Wanyma instead?)

    Rooney Costa Bojan

2m in the kitty - tempeted to switch Bojan to Jovetic but I think I prefer to have spare cash to fix the fup ups of gw1. Any sanity in this? Thanks and good luck all

Now that it's a bit quieter, any advice or does this look ok?

    Looks a good side mate.

However, you'll want to have a plan in a couple of weeks for Chambers/Bruce/Hutton once Mertesacker is back fit and Villa's fixtures turn atrocious and Hutton becomes a minus point magnet. Bruce may become surplus to requirements if Hull shift to 4 at the back in light of Long's move too.

Regarding the goalkeepers, from a personal viewpoint I think you should play Begovic every week if your spending £5m on him. There's no need to spend £9.5m on 2 goalkeepers unless you're going for a top teams keeper as part of that 2.

My advice would be to downgrade Krul to a £4m to free up £0.5m and subsequently use the extra cash to upgrade (or be ready to upgrade) one of your £4.5m defenders to a guaranteed £5m starter.

Solid side, pretty much the same as I had a few days ago and I think I prefer it to my current one.

I'd echo what Paully said. There's 0.5 or 1.0 (if you want to go with Krul) to be saved in your keepers. Might be worth doing that now and keeping the money (reduces your transfers) and then use that money to boost your defence slightly... Either now or in a GW or two when you see how the land lies.

Have had a good look over this and I'm going to stick with:

    Begovic
Terry - Caulker - van Aaholt
    Fabregas - Mata - Ramsey - Siggy
    Rooney - Costa - Fletcher
Subs: Gilks - Moore - Collocini - Isgrove
    Banked: 1.5 mil

I've thought about bringing in Taylor or swapping back in De Gea and a Stoke defender but then I'm more than happy with Begovic and the three defenders I have playing this week. I wouldn't be happy to leave any of them on the bench.

The Stoke defence has been wrecking my head all day. Even the four that start tomorrow, with such viable alternatives available will they be safe every week? That's why I've plumped for Begovic.

Also, I have Moore because I want a fifth defender I will rarely play to avoid the conundrum of leaving points on the bench.

Caulker has 7 goals in 56 PL games for Spurs/Cardiff. 2 goals in 16 games for Spurs and 5 in 36 for Cardiff last year. Some mids wouldn't have stats as good as that and QPR have decent fixtures.

Think I have settled on the following for gw1

    De gea
    Debuchy Terry Jagielka Wilson
    Young Ramsey Fabregas
    Rooney Costa Jovetic

Bench is Myhill, Henderson, Rodwell and Ward

Would love some feedback here if someone could weigh in, please.

Draft 1 has Silva & Bojan in with 0.5 in the bank.
Draft 2 has Dzeko & Young in with 1.0 in the bank.

My head says draft 1, but I can't help but think the front line of Giroud, Rooney and Dzeko in darft 2 is pretty tasty. The downside would be Mata & Young in the same midfield.

    Nice team by the way.

This is the team I've settled on for the night.
I actually think I'll stick with this one.
    Goodnight Irene.

Very similar to mine too, except I've jelavic, Shawcross and cheaper subs.

    Think I'm done at....

    Courtois (Gilks)
Wilson, van Aanholt, Hutton (Colocini, Bartley)
    Mata, Fab, Sanchez, Coutinho (Farulin)
    Rooney c, Costa, Fletcher

Taking some wisdom on board from a few of yis and going back to Hutton and Bartley. These 5 will start for now and give three decent fixtures most weeks. GW1 is not great having to play Hutton at Stoke.

Am also a fan of QPR defence but not ready to pay 5m for Caulker, may yet pay it for Isla in the next few weeks though.

1m in bank which is important i think.

Good night. May you all sleep the sleep of the righteous!

Haha no, I haven't seen Community since season 2! Great show tho, and yes Alison Brie is quality! I saw a link that she wasn't back for next season that's why that's there! Got sent a site that plays xmas songs all year round too, that's there also! Did tune in & it's class :)

Thanks I'm happy with the team for now.

    Current team is

    De Gea (MyHill)
Filipe Luis, Davies, Caulker (Targett, Dummett)
    Hazard, Ramsey, Mata, Sigurdsson (Rodwell)
    Giroud, Dzeko, Rooney

Anyone got any improvements I can make? Tempted to drop Dzeko for someone

Been looking at this thread the past hour or so and have changed me team about 4 times during it =/

The anticipation of seeing how the teams we've picked perform is like Christmas Eve when you're a kid :(

I'd go with the first one mate.

With the £0.5m in the bank you could upgrade Young to Henderson to get some Liverpool coverage in if you didn't want to be running with two Manchester United midfielders.

    Bardsley/Matt James/Jutkiewicz or Moore/Marney/Bojan

which is better? i'm currently on the former.

It's late, I'm tired and I'm not mulling over this anymore after yet another total reshuffle.

    Team for tomorrow:

    Begovic
Cahill - van Aanholt - Caulker
    Ramsey - Fabregas - Mata - Lamela
    Rooney (c) - Costa - Fletcher
    (Hamer, Isgrove, Coloccini, Duff)

Need a Stoke defender I think and Begovic is as good a way in there as any. Can't go into this without a Chelsea defender so Cahill gets the nod. I think if it becomes patently obvious in a couple of weeks that Jose prefers one of Luis or Azpil then they'll come in for Cahill.
Caulker seems to be flavour of the month on TotalFPL so he's in too!!

Taking a gamble on Lamela. Everyone and his mother has Siggy but f**k it I'm going for Lamela. I had Sterling in there but just not sure how Liverpool will be with Suarez. I'm nervous though about not having a Liverpool attacker for this weekend. Very nervous. Lamela might yet get swapped out for Sterling.

Attack - Big two + Fletcher. Its either him or Bojan so it was toss a coin time. Fletcher won.

I had Giroud in for a good while and am fearful also of what he might do but I just can't take the risk of Sanogo starting ahead of him. If I knew for sure that Giroud would start I'd then have Giroud/Siggy instead of Fletcher/Lamela.

Big worries for the weekend are what Sterling/Giroud might do. F*** it. What will be will be.

I have 0.5 left in the bank. My eyes are fried. Some of you will no doubt say my brain is too after seeing my team!

If Rooney, Ramsey and Costa flop tomorrow it will make for an interesting first few weeks.

If Costa flops tomorrow I won't mind too much as long as he has it together for Monday ;-)

    Rooney, Dzeko, Costa

For anyone with Geoff Cameron at Stoke, he has 14% ownership so his value could go through the floor if he doesn't play as most sites are predicting.
