Would feel very sorry for Suarez if he misses a world cup in his own continent. Dont think its a good thing for Liverpool either - happy player is better for us. Also would hope this injury doesnt persist and reoccur next season.

Yeah, by the sounds of it Barca's and Bayern's full squads are up for sale.

The rags are getting great mileage out it if with fanboys all over lapping it up.

I'm still holding out for us putting in a cheeky bid for Southampton.

Buying Barca would mean negotiating with the fans, and I think we'd struggle there. Best leave that to United, who got good experience with that last year.

Bit early to be panicking about Suarez, the operation sounds minor enough in itself - if he misses a few games in the World Cup its hardly the end of the world.

It's a cartilage tear. not end of the world. Some players have been known to return in 2/3 weeks. For the vast majority its usually 4-6. Once its repaired then there are usually very few problems.

Lets wait and see what the outcome of the surgery is.

It's not an ACL and for us it's happened at the right time (obviously not for Suarez) so nothing to get too worried over.
I do agree though that this should be a wake up to FSG that investing in quality in this window is paramount, seeing as we have an increased load on the players. And next season I'd be hoping for some silverware

Suarez will be back in two or three days so.

I fully expect him to jump off the operating table and nutmeg the surgeon.

Marca are reporting that Barca have expressed an interest in Brannagan and want him for their B team.

I really rate Brannagan and wouldn't like to see him go, but I wouldnt be surprised if he was being used in a deal for someone else.

Wouldn't worry too much about Suarez lads. I seen him get really badly injured against Norwich not so long ago and it only took him 3 seconds to make a full recovery, amazing healing abilities :pac:

That may be the least expected transfer news of the entire summer.

Would suck to see brannagan sold even though its almost certainly bull**** that barca want him. It must be pretty hard for rodgers to look at an academy bursting with talent, weather he pursues with playing young players or does he buy in more experienced players in those positions.

If he didn't go down theatrically at times, people would probably commend him for playing on after some of the hits he takes.

Definitely he plays injured, of that I have no doubt. Even Rodgers has praised his mentality and desire to play when most other players would say that they can't.

Couple of times over the last few months I saw him hold his knee, or walk funny for a while during a game. I'm not massively surprised to hear about this injury, tbh.

The Kroos to United rumours seem to really be hotting up.

    20m the supposed fee.

Could we not be targetting a player of his quality? Would he not be a good fit, for the same price (or cheaper?!?!) than Lallana? Are we not a more attractive proposition than United right now?

These are the type of players I wish we were being linked with, and I feel there's no reason why we shouldn't be in the running.

I mean obviously there's a wage issue. Lallana could probably be offered 50k a week and Kroos might take 100k. So we're talking about 2.5m a year extra, lets say over a 4 year deal, would equal 10m extra.

But surely it's worth it for a younger player, with a lot more top level experience, more proven seasons, international experience, experience playing with top players etc....

Why are we not nosing in here and instead chasing Adam Lallana?

I know it's all rumours and 'reportedly' but there does seem to be truth to both rumours and it's frustrating that we're not attemting to push on, and add proven real quality this year, due to what I can only guess is a wage issue

Kroos for 20m is outstanding value, I gotta say.

He's not really solving United's problem's massively though. They have too many CAM's and not enough wingers, central/defensive midfielders.

You can't say no to Kroos at that value though, so I can see why they'd be in for him. Similar to Arsenal getting Ozil last season even though needs were elsewhere.

£20mil for a player in his last year is top dollar imo and his wages will be astronomical, as they try and bridge the gap of no CL to entice the top end players to OT.

Kroos is one of those players.

regardless Utd are going to be taken to the cleaners this summer as they try and get those 5 or 6 players they badly need.

It's a disgrace and an embarrassment if we pay that much for Lallana while Kroos goes for significantly less money.

I would happily pay upwards of 35m for Kroos.

Lallana will probably be on one 1/3 the wage Kroos will be, but I see your point.

Hmm... Thought he had two years left on his contract. Still though, he's too good to pass on.

I won't even harbour a tiny amount of hope of us actually even bidding for him, though.

Lallana's nationality is leading to alot of fans here underestimating his ability

Not alot between both to be honest.

They are nowhere near the same level, in my eyes. Kroos is almost two years younger and has been outstanding for both Bayern and Leverkusen for over 4 years now, IMO.

Liverpool have never shown any stated, implied or leaked interest in Kroos the only connection has been by hacks using his wage dispute as the angle, so he is an irrelevance on this thread until he signs for another Prem club.

Jaysus Mike. Use that logic and nobody would ever be able to talk about anyone.

I'm not the biggest fan of transfer talk and rumours, but when a player I've admired for years comes up in discussion, I'm happy to give my thoughts, regardless of the team in question.

I think you're going a little overboard, especially for the time of year that's in it.
