That depends on what we want from it.... Each win and draw has an amount of Prize money

Think £1m for win, £500k for draw (this doubles in 2015)
Rnd of 16 has £3.5m in prize money

This is on top of the TV money. 2 extra games in the scheme of things means very little. But to win all 6 group games could mean an extra £9.5m to the club

I'd love a group we get out of and a last 16 place minimum for the ranking points and money if nothing else. Obv I want us to win all our games anyhow.

Realistically though we will be between very unlikely and slight favs to progress, depending on the draw.

Why is that Kate COhen article a source of amusement? Seen it referenced a couple of times lately

    She created Liverpool.

Statically Liverpool have the best forward, midfielder and er defender in the league

So we can't joke or follow an English club. Loads of decent posters still here, who has left?
Nouri is a great contributor, so is mike65, luckylloyd, mozardez(?), Knex when bothered, grayditch is hilarious, some great posters on here. And there's the turd.

If there was much to talk about we'd be here more of the time. Until the world cup starts or a player is signed (or at least very strongly linked) its going to be quiet apart from the Pandas, who don't really care one way or the other.

I'd imagine that's only a factor in a minority of cases.

At the same time, I think most of the top seeds would like to avoid us.

Apart from Real, Barcelona, Munich, we have as good a chance of progressing to the last 16 as anyone.

The club is in a very good place at the minute. Everything is awesome.

We have less to discuss and moan about than previous times.

So I suppose the bitta messing that goes is just to keep the thread ticking over.

Still plenty of good discussion going on though.

    Here's an observation for you.

In 2007 Everything about Liverpool that was considered "right and proper" was Spanish or Spanish speaking - manager, coaches, half the first 11. There was one England player who was considered essential - Gerrard. Now the regular first team hasn't got one Spaniard and half the starting 11 are English and a Welshman with a "British" manager, coaches and more of the same at U21/Academy level with most of the most promising players being home grown.

Just shows how the profile of a team can change over a few years.

Pedro the latest player that the papers have us linked with. I'd love a bit of Pedro at Liverpool with it looking likely that Sanchez will be of to Italy.

Surely they won't let both Pedro and Sanchez go though?

I wanna be the very best,
    Like no one ever was.
To catch them is my real
To train them is my cause.

I will travel across the land,
    Searching far and wide.
Each summer transfer target to understand
    The power that's inside

Summer transfer target, (gotta catch them all) its you and me
    I know its my destiny
Summer transfer target, oh, you're my best friend
In a world we must defend

Summer transfer target, (gotta catch them all) a heart so true
Our courage will pull us through
You teach me and I'll teach you
    Tr-ans-fer, gotta catch 'em all

    Every challenge along the way
    With courage I will face
    I will battle every day
    To claim my rightful place

Come with me, the time is right
    There's no better team
Arm in arm we'll win the fight
    It's always been our dream

    here's the meat of it
Liverpool are lining up an audacious move for Spanish World Cup star Pedro.

The Reds have already made a discreet approach to his club Barcelona over the striker’s availability... and been told the 26-year-old IS available at the right price.

Manager Brendan Rodgers has made it clear he is ready to spend big on bringing a third world-class forward to Anfield to complement his devastating attacking duo of Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge.

And Pedro - full name Pedro Eliezer Rodríguez Ledesma - fits the bill.

He is a World Cup and Euros winner with Spain, and is a proven finisher at the highest level with 14 goals in 37 games for his country.

The fact he is also versatile enough to operate all along the front line appeals to Rodgers, who would love to sign a forward who could play as an out and out striker, but also cut in from wide positions if Suarez or Strurridge play centrally.

Pedro has been told he can leave the Nou Camp, with Barca planning a massive shake-up this summer under newly-appointed coach Luis Enrique.

Well if you a capitalise the "is" it must be true.

Obviously not a very discreet approach if its splashed all over national media, is it?
