    UK - 4cyl engine : 1500 pouds exclude VAT. it looks like VSI not VSI2 - http://www.prinsautogasuk.co.uk/conversion-price-list.php
Germany - 4 cyl engine with promotion : PRINS VSI €1790 and STAG 300 premium same price : http://www.autogasmuenchen.com/preise

the details make a difference :
Silver line is much cheaper, Stag 300 premium with cheap Italian injectors also much cheaper.

Lads is it true there there is a smell from the lpg through the Catalytic Converter, I told a mechanic to day that I was getting the lpg conversion and he said stay away from it that it smells, is that true.

Once you drive behind a car running on LPG, you might feel something.
    Not from your car though.

I never noticed any difference. The LPG in unburnt, raw form smells.. when its combusted there is no smell. Does a home heating system running on LPG smell? I would think if this was a problem then people wouldnt be heating houses with it.

He's right though. Why should the smell of the fuel make any difference? All fuels smell to some degree. I always liked the smell of burnt lpg.

If the installation is done and certified by an approved installer you will never smell lpg in the car.

    Burnt lpg is practically odourless.

Unburnt lpg stinks and the actual stink chemical added to lpg is so distinctive it can be smelt in tiny quantities

If you can smell lpg ONLY when you are driving you have a small leak somewhere

Did your car was converted by one of "Conversion Centres" listed on Folgas.ie or ilpga.ie ?. There is only one requirement to be on their list - to be insured with "Public Liability". It means : no matter how conversion done. Important only is that, if something happens the insurance company will cover it.

If you over fill the tank (max 80%) in warm weather and the car is left sitting you can get a smell of gas as the tank vents due to high pressure. Apart from that I have never smelled gas while driving or walking around the car while parked with the engine running.

Last year in the July heatwave I noticed an anomalies with the LPG system, I was filling the car one day in 30c+ heat from empty and I noticed the tank took more LPG than ever before.

The pump will usually cut-off after pumping 48 litres which is 80% of the tanks capacity. However on this occasion the pump filled 52litres and I stopped the pump myself as I was getting afraid of it and it was very hot that day. I'm not sure if this was a faulty pump or heat related but I stopped it from pumping before it got the chance to cut-off itself.

As I was far from home when I filled and I drove 80 miles after filling which took the tank back down below 48 litres of lpg so there was no venting anyway.

The only time I get the smell of gas is when you disengage the filler trigger and it gives a quick blast of LPG vapor.

I think blancha is saying he has no insurance and in case you haven't figured it out i suspect he is an Autogas conversion center. He also doesn't know what public liability insurance is for

i'm trying to open LPG station with conversion center, but it isn't so easy.I also wanted to be listed on ilpga.ie web as installer. They need only insurance.Experince isn't important. I think, experince is the most imprtant thing that I have.
Spakks, which conversion centre listed on ilpga.ie could you recommend and why?.

Do you need proof that ilpga.ie needs insurance only?.

Conversion Center listed on ilpga.ie website :

    The Blackchurch Inn
    N7 Naas Road
    Rathcoole
    Co. Dublin

This is LPG station - pomp and small barrack only.
In that place never been converted any car...
Why this "conversion center" is listed there for last one year?.
Because insurance for place like this is 10 times cheaper than for garage.

Insurance, that ilpga needs to be listed on their website would cost me about 6k euro.
I never broken any car before, but even if it'll happen, €6k cover this...

Spakks, do you need more funny stories about conversion centers in this country?.
    I know many.

That filling station has a conversion center at a different location as you well know
And public liability insurance doesn't cover damage to cars.
And 6k is way to much for pl insurance try a different broker

Google it see what people are saying all i can tell you from my experience is that if you are putting up the miles you will save
You will also have to take into account the availability of gas on your journey

Look at flogas callor gas and ilpga websites for car gas filling stations

You will also find more filling stations not listed yet on donedeal (new conversion centers)

I've been using gas for a year now and realistic savings are 40 to 45%

right I got my car converted last week to lpg, excellent job, it only cost me 9e to drive from cork to Limerick it shutters a small bit when driving but its just a matter of me getting used to the revs. i, delighted with it anyway. cost 1360e and it only has to be serviced every 50k km

I'd be concerned if it shudders. Mine doesn't. The only way to tell if I'm running on petrol or gas it to look at the led.

The service interval would worry me. My friend services his STAG300-4 every 15k kms.

It's probably a Prinz. They have a long service interval.
