Fingers crossed but getting past Bayern to have a shot at anyone else will be a big ask onto itself.

Oh, I know. I'm Mr. Negativity, remember :P

But honestly, if we got through, I think I'd rather a Spanish team; Chelsea have already done well against us this season (a win and a draw against us), and won't have the "fear" so to speak. I think we do better against teams who show us more respect than we deserve this season, so think we might do a bit better against a team who doesn't know us so much.

Ancelotti would have been a good candidate for the end of season chop had tonight gone sour for Real. Mkhitaryan brutal finishing saved him for now.

Some Serbian paper saying we are signing a Serbian player, to be announced tomorro. Anyone hear anything? Heard nothing myself. Subotic us the only senior player I'd be aware of any interest in.

Lazar markovic maybe? Seen him be linked with Chelsea & Liverpool in the last few days

    Prediction from Bild itseems.

IMO there is nothing much wrong with the team with the available squad but I think it would be Welbeck left wing, Kagawa behind Rooney.

Klopp has to be the man for United
he is the Samuel Jackson of the football world
    cool as ice..

Moyes can cut the grass, if he wants to hang around for his six years..

No, you need pace up front. I watched Bayern a lot this season and they do hold a very high defensive line. Dangerously high. A pacey striker like Welbeck can run in behind and cause them all sorts of trouble, or knowing that he's there they might play deeper, creating a gap between the defense and midfield, which we could exploit. You need to stretch teams, it's something we haven't done enough of in the league this year.
Bayern are favourites in my view. I think they're a fantastic side who play great football, but they are far from perfect. The defence is weak enough. I think it was Mainz that broke them down time and time again with fast counter attacks, but just couldnt finish. I was amazed watching the game. It was clear Mainz were destroying them with these fast counters, but Pep did nothing to change it. Bayern should have been beaten by 3 or 4 that evening.
    Anyways, fingers crossed for tonight!

Perhaps you should suggest this at OT wehn you are hurling abuse at Sir Alex Ferguson and Sir Bobby Charlton.

The clamouring for Klopp on this thread reminds me of the clamour for Fellaini.

Yeah, can't you read? Mainz should have scored a few - they couldn't finish on the night. I suggest you go read it again.

Just to be clear for you. Mainz had about 5 clear chances and they fluffed every one.

I love how you ignored my next post.

still havent provided me with a final score for this game referenced..
also, were you expecting a response to your 'next post' - i wasnt sure there was a question included tbh.

bayern won the game 2-0, I believe. What's your point exactly?

You only respond to posts with question marks at the end of them?

Bayern won a game in which they were clearly over-run by the opposition.
thats intersting. hopefully we can convert our chances this evening.

and yes, i think one should only expect a direct response to a post when it includes a question directed at a specific individual. this is a busy forum after all

Everton Fellaini was a beast! He destoryed the United midfield lasts eason in OT. It's not Davey's fault that he decided he wants to be in Thin Lizzy instead of being a footballer all of a sudden.

or perhaps destroying the united midfield was no major feat last year..
    (on occasion)

I'll make sure to put a question mark at the end of it next time. Just so you can get your head around it.
