    It's not their mate.
Dash cam is on the bus which those people just disembarked from, so that's why they walk together towards pedestrian crossing. But it doesn't look like they were there together.

I know the car should have been able to stop BUT why did he look then blindly walk out in front of a car travelling to fast to stop??

    Natural order at work there.

I'd assume that the bus was obscuring his view of the car.

I'd say pedestrian didn't see the car.
    He looked opposite way.

In last clip, its interesting how the two people closest to him ****ed off instead of helping! I suppose they thought he was dead and maybe got a shock but still.

I posted a full video from this incident 10 days ago here as I also though it was interesting to see peoples reactions directly after the accident.

    One from today. Read below

In the clip I reckoned there was a Red light and a Green Left arrow for the Mondeo, and that the Audi had ran a red. But was this the case? I am not that familiar with the setup of that junction.

Does anyone know the lights at this junction?
    Cos maybe I am wrong

Ps, the clip is blurry at the start, I think its a video edit or youtube artefact. Might have to upload it again later.

That's pretty common there. Both sets of lights go green at the same time. Usually the cars coming from the Audi's side yield to the car in front of you in my experience there. Silly set-up

You can see the car across the ditch from ages away though

Just because the jeep can see him, doesn't mean he can see the jeep (i think its a jeep anyway!)

You can clearly see the other cars windows - they just didn't look.

As Bazmedic said, both sets of lights go green and the Audi should have yielded as technically from his side he was given a right arrow so was making a right turn across a lane of traffic.

It's a bitch of a junction as the visibility of cars coming from the left is crap.

The Audi had a green but he's technically turning right, as per the road marking, so he should slow the fook down and give way like you would for any right turn.

    You're both wrong, 77km/h. :p

Filmed from corolla, silver car was a suzuki SX4 (reg number can be read) - compact car.

But anxiously waiting for more critics. ;)

    ^^ This! ^^

As been mentioned above, silver car can be seen from quite a distance (and I saw it perfectly and early), and even when it stopped at junction I could see its windows, so driver could see my car as well, especially I always drive with my dipped lights on.

If anyone has ideas on how the junction could be improved, I might stick it onto fixmyarea.com and see if anything comes of it.

I think part of the problem is that the R109 is really no longer the 'main' road, I think the road markings should show a line curving around the corner to convey the fact that if you follow the course of the Audi, you are making a right turn off of the main road.

Just an idea anyway. The other option would be to combine a green arrow for left with a flashing orange arrow for right, instead of the traditional green. But I don't know if that is likely to be approved.

I have seen flashing orange arrows elsewhere (near clontarf for example), along with red arrows for that matter (near John McCormack bridge in east wall area)

edit, this is the location. It is in chapelizod as many already know.

The green arrow to turn right is already there so I think it should only come on where it's red for those coming over the river.
You could also sync up the right arrow going green with traffic going the opposite direction on the R109 (this has a green light & green arrow for right) so you're minimizing traffic delays.

So going westbound on the R109 when you get your green arrow to turn right, traffic going the opposite way get a green light, indicating traffic can go forward without issue or turn right while yielding to other traffic. Eastbound on the R109 get their right green arrow eventually.

This could make the junction safer and improve traffic flow in the mornings through Chapelizod.

And this is what the other fella saw

If you are not familiar with the area that could be a easy one to miss.

Road markings have been updated since that image. If you watch the video that was posted to the end you can see that the lane the audi was in has an arrow on it indicating that he is in a right turning lane. I admit it's still a bit confusing because the right turn looks like you're going straight but officially he has everything he needs to know what to do.

Seemed like largely constructive conversation to me lately.
Whatever about the jibber jabber (the lifeblood of any forum btw), I definitely don't think anyone comes here to read dramatic pronouncements from people that they're leaving the thread. I mean, just leave if you're leaving. Don't tell us all about it.

By the title etc. I thought it was the cars fault, muppet on the bike, hope the police get wind of this and take his license off him.
    "Most dangerous roads"?!?
The only thing dangerous was the rider.
