I wonder will players come if moyes is still manager, I know people will say money talks

Yeah Identifying/buying players is probably the strongest aspect of moyes in my eyes. Say what you want I think Fellaini is a good player and will come good. Mata bit of a no brainer really he was one of the best players in the league since arriving in England.

However there is no point in handing moyes more money to buy "His players" if he continues to not get the results. As I see it if he is handed his warchest in the summer he will buy his players and continue to struggle because he is tactically so poor and has almost every player in the squad playing at a level below what they should be. Cue new manager to come in and now moyes's players might not suit the system/tactics the new manager might want to play.

All fairly hypothetical of course but from the evidence given by the team/Moyes all season he should be sacked now. Lets not waste time money to continually back something that will inevitably not work out unfortunately.

Yeah Moyes will buy the right players. The problem is will he get them playing? It doesn't look like it based on this season, particularly since Christmas.

That would be a worry for me as well, spend 200m and still end up playing slow motion football.

Fellaini does have the legs, he's a very good defensive midfielder, the problem is the manager and tactics, a more mobile partner instead of Carrick would help too.

So build the team around Fellani? Out of curiosity which game has Fellani shown he has the legs and how did you come to the conclusion that he is is a very good defensive midfielder? His fitness looks terrible and is miles off the pace.

I reckon Moyes could be gone soon enough. If you cant trust him to put a team together with the players he has how can you trust him with 200 million?

Fellaini gets a hard time on here. You have people defending Mata, Rafael, RvP etc on the basis that they are playing poorly due to the tactics/system yet this doesn't seem to apply to Fellaini and a few others who have shown their worth in the past.

Watch a Belgium game or two maybe.

Looking at Sunderland there. One thing is that there are new players needed. A lot of the current squad lack any bite. Bardsley, a former youth player, could be taken back. He's a tough nut with a bit of oomph. Boys like him and Cattermole are hard things. The squad is too limp at the moment.

    Doesnt matter about Internationals

Messi wasnt very good for Argentina for some time but yet he is the best player in the world

Judging by Valdes' reaction to his injury, I'd say he's out of the world cup. Will DDG get a call up or will Diego Lopez be picked?

Yeah and what about Landon Donovan too???
    Wasn't that your other one?

    Of course it does.

Your point is moot anyway as were talking about different players.

Donovan makes a lot more sense then those other two jokers!

I think you should find a new gimmick, the current one is boring now. Can't you find a few hipster players to keep talking about instead?

Was watching the build up to the Classico and the same point was made about Neymar. Plays well in the international set up or Santos set up but hasn't done it at Barca yet, they said he probably feels more comfortable in those two set ups.

Could be the same with Fellaini.

That's Neeson's thing. He comes in here with suggestions of average/below average players that would improve United.
    It's tiresome stuff really.

Bardsley was not on my previous transfer list I don't think. Especially with the injury problems he'd be good defensive cover

He shouldn't be on anyone's list. We need an all rounder.

    Not Phil ****ing Bardsley.

That may be true. But all rounders are not easy to find.

If David Moyes is still Manchester United manger for the first game of next season, it will be out and out negligence from the board.

I think the blame will be shared and ultimately save his skin this season.

Neymar and Fellaini, Neymar and Fellaini, not seeing the similarities.

Is this another one of those Ferguson got a chance and became great so everyone should type arguments?

I get the feeling the club aren't comfortable sacking him until the season is over. Maybe it's compensation reasons or just to save some face (although that wouldn't make much sense if it is the case as they are losing much more credibility as a result!)

Until we get a vote of confidence i think we are stuck with what we got.

Not disputing he hasn't impressed yet, just thinking of reasons why he hasn't done it at United. I find it interesting people use his international form as the bar with what to judge him and not his Everton form. He hasn't always played the forward role with Everton.

He wouldn't my cup tea as a footballer from what I want to see being played by United, lots of pace through the center and wide areas a combo of Carrick and Fell are so far the the other way :(.

there will be clauses that allow them to sack based on performance. as long as a CL place is possible its probably will cost them a lot more to sack him now than in a few weeks when we're likely to be out of the CL and 4th is mathematically impossible

a 6 year contract will have these clauses. the Glazers arent idiots

On a slightly different note, there is one common complaint that I would be happy not to hear again, the idea that Fergie made a bad choice in selecting David Moyes and that he should take some blame for this situation.

Its not Fergies fault, because it wasn't actually a bad decision!

I wasn't hugely excited by the appointment, but it was clearly made with some justification. They appointed an experienced premier league manager who had a history of developing a club with the long term in mind. Thats what they wanted and David Moyes had as good a CV as any. Bear in mind one thing, if a manager likes Moyes should not have been considered for the United job, then Brendan Rogers should not have been considered for the Liverpool job, and who would argue that?

It was not an intrinsically bad appointment. The problem is that Moyes has turned out to be rubbish at the job and you know what, it happens! HR departments across the world will tell you that sometimes appointments just don't work out. You could scout a player a thousand times and think he is perfect for the club, then he comes and never settles at all. It happens. In the corporate world new managers come and just never gel with their staff or their directors. It doesn't always mean mistakes were made in the interviews, sometimes new hires just don't work out.

The problem is not that Fergie et al made the wrong choice, because that happens. The problem is that the club are ignoring the abundant evidence that the choice made just hasn't worked out! Bad choices happen, the trick is to recognise this fact and deal with the consequences, not to bury heads in the sand and pretend that United aren't like other clubs.

So don't blame Fergie. Moyes was not a bad appointment, he has just done a piss poor job, and they are not the same thing.

Valdes out of the world cup squad, will DDG get a call up? He would make the most sense, get him used to the international set up as the other keepers are all coming towards the end of their careers.

At least Moyes has the excuse of Barcelona after we get hammered home and away

Just saw something on redcafe that made me chuckle.

    David Moyes, ability vampire.
