Would it be viable to use another car?

By the end of tomorrow it will be indeed, end of today if I get the time. Seicento needs a set of wheel cylinders... They're sittin at home at the mo. Once thats done it can go back on the road :)

    Then onto me pug! :p

Ah come on, orange with a tan roof? It'd look like a rotten orange.
MK1's are cool but that one sounds manky.

Still though, it is not a patch on yours for coolness/rarity or novelty.
If I was deciding between yours or the golf I'd take yours everytime.

Exactly what I'm thinking to myself.

I do love the looks of it, but they're still plentiful at shows and stuff.

    I like it.

In relation to colours there were some awesome orange / green / yellow paint jobs in the 70's. Blues and browns too. ;)

I was expecting Dukes of Hazard. That looks pretty slick.

You should get it wrapped, a metallic blue would look nice on it.

Like the Golf actually, colour scheme works well. Is it an auto? I'm only seeing a fat brake pedal.

Each to their own, however, I'm very much of the school of leaving classics original as possible :)

I am not saying to modify it at all, But the paint needs an upgrade and a wrap is not permanent, Also I am sure a car of that period would have come in the kind of blue I am suggesting.

Actually it does not look that great in blue, black and white suit the car best.

Golf doesn't look bad. I was expecting something much worse. All depends what you want but I wouldn't consider that a bad swap if it checks out ok.

Although personally I wouldn't swap for it but maybe that's just me.

Am I reading the above 20" price wrong; it's more expensive to get four wheels refurbished than a single wheel? Why would single wheel prices be cheaper than multiple wheels?

Good question! Just remember that those prices are ex. VAT.

    Aye, working out pricey enough.

Looks like a typo/miscalculation. It's cheaper for the other sizes.

It's 95 euro for one wheel yet 385 for four even though 4*95=380 euro. Normally you would get some discount by getting 4 done together rather than one. Is that what you mean?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,653 ✭✭✭Voodoomelon

Must be a typo. 22"s don't work out any cheaper either.

You'd think the fact they were putting the prices on the website that they'd bother to double check them. It's multiplication not exactly complex mathematics. As said don't forget to multiply all them prices by 1.135 to get price including vat. Probably best just to ring them.

    Aye, working out pricey enough.

You not going to go down the Lepson route again? A refurb is on the cards for me and I'm probably going to go with wheel wizards but only because the shipping and hassle for me to go with Lepsons is too much, plus wheel wizards is a 1 day turnaround.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,653 ✭✭✭Voodoomelon

I only went with Lepsons last time because I saw a refurbed M-Parallel they did up on eBay, it was immaculate. I don't think Wheel Wizards did/do diamond cutting.

Would be a straight forward job with the Style 149s.

True! Straight forward job on my Style 189s too.

They powdercoat them and some people have said that the finish scuffs easily but I have a plan for that. A few coats of Gtechniq C1 followed by EXO will have it a lot stronger.

I'm edging towards this kind of finish:

I do like that finish, what paint is it? Do they powdercoat everything?

I think they do as it's a much better option compared to spray painting.

That colour is brilliant silver. There's another silver which is kind of "whiter" if you know what I mean and it's called sports silver. WOn't be making my mind up fully though until I see the colours in person.
