So went to maplins, they never heard of what i was on about

None of the two euro shops had them either, and argos wanted 20 quid for one
"cassette to headphone" adapter. They are on the website. But will be 20yoyo plus there too via the magic maplin exchange rate.

Hardly worth it if it's only for a few days.

I have a problem can anyone help me out. When I accelerate and change gears the car goes to the right and when I take foot off acceleration it goes left. I'm only after having the car balanced and tracked so its not that. There is a new tyrod link put the passenger front side wheel yesterday ( I don't know if that's the correct spelling or word but it sounds like that ). Its a Renault Megane Diesel. Any advice.

    Gearbox mounts maybe?

If its a gearbox problem would it be a big job in other words would it cost much?
    Thanks for replying MetzgerMeister.

It depends on the price of new mounts or if the mounts have sheared away it could mean it needs welding.

Bear in mind that I'm doing nothing but guessing. This mightn't be the case at all. You could be turning the wheel left or right for the craic for all I know :P

Just the one side? Could also be your issue....

Did you / do you have a Mazda 323 gt?

It's a 2002 2.0 Sport as opposed to the earlier 1.8GT and yes, I still have it :) I'm going to keep it and if my work life continues to improve I might switch back to it.

I don't recall there being leaves on the trees in February :pac::pac: Maybe in Dublin, but not down here anyway!

I'm finding that the hard part about looking for cars is finding an interesting one that I can afford.

    Everything is in diesel.

It'll be May before I'm buying anything anyway but....

I'd almost buy that A8 and eat the 3k a year tax+insurance. If it wasn't due an NCT too....

So, in the city centre, at the lights crossing Clonbrassil st, go to take off and the car rolls backwards. Clutch making an awful screeching noise, feeling lumpy and heavy. Eventually it moves off, terribly.

I think the clutch is goosed :pac:

Just 1 more week, just one more week....

By the way - I think we need one "My car has failed NCT today megathread" instead of hundreds small ones appearing very frequently. :)

Planning to go back to the 406 for March. I need the engine assembled still, once that's done about a day is needed to have it running again :)

    I can't wait :D

€638.06 for sachs kit + €430.07 for labour (incl vat)

Still better than €1.4k for LUK kit!
