The investor thing is interesting. I'm wondering now if the Jarrett/Toby Keith rumours were just to throw people off. 99% sure Davey said "they", implying more than one.

Is next week's show live too, or taped? Some big matches so you'd expect it to be live, but they tend to record at least two at a time so I'm not sure.

No clue why they didnt do Genesis as a real PPV. Easily enough to fill a PPV and that's without a tag title match.

Really? The opening was boring until Sting got involved, and the main event was weak, but I thought everything in between was good. At worst, it was still 10 times more enjoyable than most Monday nights.
Yes really if you think 3/4 quarters of a show filled with stupid backstage segments and in ring promos that make WWE stuff look Oscar worthy then I guess we differ over what's more enjoyable.

    You disagree?
Mainstream pro-wrestling has become too sanitised and PG lately. The TNA and WWE products need their edge back.
Hardcore wrestlers like New Jack would be awesome unpredictable additions, dig up Balls Mahoney and Vic Grimes too.
Unless you're happy with watching 3 people putting Daniel 'I have nothing' Bryan over per night. Yes Yes Yes it's the worst gimmick ever.
Orton putting over Kingston on Raw a few weeks before Rumble? Cmon.

    What's your beef Insect?

In relation to workrate, yes Danielson has some skills in ring, his gimmick and mic skills are appalling though. He could work some decent programs, as a cruiser weight, mid to lower card, but main eventing? No chance.
The Wyatt heel turn had promise, but typically creative killed it almost immediately. Danielson is going the way of Cena, being rammed down the fans throats as a face. Cena and Danielson are massively over with the crowd these days because the crowd now consists largely of 7 year old children and their mothers, and they lap that lightweight drivel up.

Don't get me wrong, there is some good talent still working in the WWE, none of them are being used correctly in my opinion, and as long as it stays PG, the product will continue to suck.

Yes bring New 'four justifiable homicides' Jack to spice up things, out of all ECW history you pick three fat guys, with a history of drug and alcohol problems and no wrestling skill.

Balls and New Jack are fine wrestlers, probably a bit too rough for a Fandango type fan like yourself. New Jacks still working Indys so he must be doing something right.
Pretty much every great pro wrestler in the last 25 years has a history of drug and alcohol problems, it went with the territory.
This wellness crap is also contributing to turning WWE into a cartoon.

New Jack is nothing short of an awful wrestler. Never saw him as a bright light in ECW. Jerry Lynn, RVD, Dreamer, Raven..... not New Jack though.

Hardcore wrestling is not whats needed to make TNA succesful

Just an idea beak. They need a new booker at least.....using Angle to pull up Rick Rudes kid? Come on!!

Btw you must have taken too many chair shots and gone a bit Benoit if you think New Jack is a weak in-ring worker.

It looks grim for them on that basis, they need a change but I don't know what could reinvigorate the promotion.

Putting over "Rick rudes kid" ??? Im guessing you mean Bobby Roode. They aren't related.

Who would you put over instead ? New Jack who is a liability for any promotion hes ever been in and has aged horribly? Really?

Better booking. On the whole they make money from these shows.

Id like to think the signing of Richards and Edwards is positive and that the repackaging of Derrick Bateman is being handled well. I have faith that they can slowly turn it around.

The same problems that have been plaguing them for nearly 12 years are still there. Terrible finishes, overbooked matches and overarching stories that take over shows and make everything else that happens background noise all on top of weak foundations. They need to fundamentally change their approach or they'll continue the same way they've been going.

Apparently they are still holding house shows in venues that can hold up to 10,000 people. That's a massive waste of money. No need to be booking anything more than 1,000 unless they are certain they will exceed that. The TV tapings are usually only in the 800-1200 range so the 10,000 seaters are just retarded.

Also doesn't help that they have a horrible habit of running three or fours shows one night after the other, with only about an hour's drive in between cities. No reason to do more than one unless it sells out, in which case you add a second nearby for a couple of days later.

Apparently they ran radio commercials but never once mentioned TNA or Impact or anything to let people know what exactly it was.

So many little things that can slowly but surely make a difference over time.

The original plan back in December time was AJ Styles.

So I will go with AJ even though I think he is sincere about leaving TNA and given he has indy bookings up to April at least.

If he does return he can tape most of the TV up until Lockdown in the UK and he doesn't have any indy dates on Thursday's in March and April as well as nothing the day of Lockdown so he could fulfill all those dates while being back in TNA.

If it is Styles a compromise must have been reached to allow him to work other dates. It would make sense since they are asking him to take a pay cut. Hopefully they have him signed up and arent still trying to convince him now.

Are they doing the six or so weeks to Lockdown in the UK?

Yup, two in Glasgow (including next weeks show which will air live on Challenge), two in Manchester and two in London.

The Title vs. Contract (and well built cage match) popped a rating, 1,555,000 viewers. The highest in a fair while.

The average since Destination X in July has been 1,238,536. They've been doing 1.3ish for the last few weeks.

Was the match well built or are you complimenting the Cage structure itself?

TNA are back in Orlando after Lockdown:

    MARCH 13 – IMPACT LIVE
    MARCH 14 – IMPACT Taping
    MARCH 15 – IMPACT Taping
    APRIL 10 – IMPACT LIVE
    APRIL 11 – IMPACT Taping
    APRIL 12 – IMPACT Taping
APRIL 26 – One Night Only Taping
    APRIL 27 – TNA Pay-Per-View Event
    APRIL 28 – IMPACT Taping
    APRIL 29 – IMPACT Taping
    MAY 7 – IMPACT Taping
    MAY 8 – IMPACT Taping
    MAY 9 – IMPACT Taping

The April 27th one is interesting because it's a Sunday show. Also a couple of these clash with AJ Styles indy dates.

Could it be another ONO? I think Sacrifice was the April one and that would just be random to bring back.

Five days of taping over the space of two weeks? I thought it was about three days per month, are the May ones for June's shows?

I think we're getting a live Impact this week. Unless it's airing at 4pm in the States, we'll be getting it first. Challenge are advertising Impact for Thursday at nine.

That'll probably take them up to the Slammiversary PPV in June. And TNA are live on Challenge on Thursday from Glasgow before the US, they announced that months ago.

    Interesting iMPACT! quarter hours:
Q1: Impact opened with a show-high 1.42 rating for Dixie's attorney backstage, Sting confronting Magnus, and one commercial.

Q2: Impact dipped to a 1.26 rating for Dixie/Spud backstage, Gunner vs. Storm in a briefcase match, and one commercial.

Q3: Impact increased to a 1.29 rating for Chris Sabin vs. Austin Aries for the X Division Title, plus one commercial.

Q4: Impact dipped to a 1.19 rating for the Wolves’ video package, Angle/Roode hype, and two commercial breaks.

Q5: Impact jumped to a 1.39 rating for Kurt Angle vs. Bobby Roode in a steel cage match.

Q6: Impact dipped to a 1.21 rating for EC3/Spud backstage and an in-ring promo featuring the Bro Mans, Zema Ion, Eric Young and Abyss. There were also two commercial breaks.

Q7: Impact dipped to a show-low 1.13 rating for Samoa Joe vs. Rockstar Spud, Kurt Angle backstage, and one commercial.

Q8: Impact increased slightly to a 1.14 rating for Magnus vs. Sting for the TNA World Title, plus one mid-match commercial.

So either there wasn't that much interest in the main event or TNA drove them away before they could get there.

Sting was never winning, and it was never going to be anything better than decent. As such, no real reason to watch. Angle vs Roode should have been the main event.

They need to start an "Our Year" campaign every year around January.
