Just the one bet today - so far - I wisely kept away from the Munster game but still can't make up my mind about Pumas vs ABs. Might keep away from the betting here too. I'm just over 110% on the start of the weekend thanks to throwing everything on the Boks to get more than 13.5 points in the first half. :D

    Old Balance: 38.6 units

    - 4 units (10/11) South Africa -11 :D
    - 1 unit (10/11) Leinster -17 :(
    - .5 units (15/8) Ian Madigan try in 80 mins :D
    - .25 units (11/1) Devin Toner try in 80 mins :(
    - .1 units (175/1) Cardiff Blues to win by 13 or more :(
    - 1 unit (10/11) Munster -14 :(
    - .5 units (10/11) Northampton -18 :D
    - 1 unit (10/11) Edinburgh -1 :(

    New Balance: 30.75 units

    New Balance: 40.78 units

Could have been a little bit better if Leinster hadn't given away a cheap intercept and Munster hadn't been pretty shíte. Anyway it's a slight win and with the betting season I've had I'll take it!

Not made any bets in the last 2 week as preoccuopied (although up 20+points on my original 50 units) going away to the Caribbean for a week this weekend, so unless any super tips before Friday will be bowing out until the 14th of October

It's going to be a fantastic Saturday of rugby whatever about the betting - Toulon vs Clermont first up, followed by the Springboks vs ABs, then Munster vs Leinster and winding down with watching Argentina pile on the misery with a wipeout of the Aussies. :D

I'm far away from deciding on my bets but will be definitely be going with Argentina to beat Australia by more than 5 at 15/8 and more than 8 at 11/4.

Do you ever give reasonings for your bets?
    Would like to hear some.

What reasoning would you like? The Aussies are in woeful form and the Argentinians almost beat them in the first match at home (14-13) and the way they played against the ABs I reckon they could run out convincing winners.

Wasent having a dig and i fancy the bet myself.
I just like some reasoning when i place bets.
Wish it was wet but the forecast is dry and only 6mph wind.

The last game is oz was there for the winning but Argentina bottled it.
They could scrum the ozzies into submission and could possibly be the last time Contemponi plays for his country hope they send him out on a high.
Geni is back but his form has been poor but on his day is superb.
Will never have a better chance to get a maiden win in the championship.

    Treviso
    Dragons
    Arg +10

    7.5 units.

Some tough calls this weekend but I'm leaning toward the following.....

A small bet on SA to win the title @7/1 (would be some finish to the tournament if they get a late 4th try that puts them 8 or 9 points ahead!!) This is more in hope than belief but I do think 7/1 is a bit on the big side seeing as the game is in Ellis Park and SA know what they need to do.

Treviso - Should be a comfortable win for them, the h'cap of -10 is a little higher than I wanted but will probably take it on.

Dragons -12 - tempts me slightly but will most likely leave it alone.

Leinster - I think this game will be tight but Leinster to shade it. I think Leinster are suspect this season so far in defence but Munster (for me) seem to lack a cutting edge and sharpness. Having said that this is THE derby so all of that can be thrown out the window!

Arg - I think this is my nap for the weekend. Yes, Aus can pull it out of the fire and have the players to do it (Genia, Falou, Cooper) but none of them are playing well and up front Arg will destroy them. They pushed the ABs around last week and only for some typical long range brilliant tries by the Blacks this would have been far closer. I think Argentina could do some real damage to a toothless Aussie side. Arg to win and I will also be having some of Arg -3, Arg by 10-20pts and Arg to score over 20.5 points in the game. They will score a try or two and they will get quite a few penalties from scrums.

Treble of Arg, SA and Leinster pays around 11/2

Add Ospreys, Treviso, Dragons, Racing and Bath to that in an accum as well pays 23/1 or so. Would pay for a few pints.....

    Happy gambling y'all!:)

    * Edit - also did Perpignan(13/8), Castres(5/4) & Stade Francais(5/1) treble.

Toulon -10 added to earlier post. Clermont resting some players.

    And Racing -15

    Evens(ish) treble of
    Ospreys
    Dragons
    Treviso

Hopefully no egg on the face with this one

Double of Ulster + 5 and Australia -1 to kick the weekend off

    pays around 3/1

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,549 ✭✭✭✭Judgement Day

Scatter gun over the Ospreys vs Ulster game:

More than 19.5 points in first half
Ospreys more than 11.5 points in 1st half
Ulster more than 8.5 points in 1st half

    All at 5/6.

Weather damp and rain likely so a definite gamble.

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

Ospreys have been very high-scoring to date, Ulster started low-scoring but have upped it in recent games and with a strong side out, I expect them to do well.

    So I'm going for

    Over 40.5 Points Ospreys V Ulster @5/6
    Ulster Over 1.5 Tries @5/6
    Zebre +15 V Dragons @8/13

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,442 ✭✭✭its_phil

    Went for an accum with:

    Ulster over 1.5 tries
    Zebre +15
    Bath -2
Connacht over 7.5 points first half

    which is just over 9/1.

Also went for Connacht to be winning at half time 11/5. They have been leading at half time in three of their first four games.
