I remember when GTA San Andreas came out, Xtravision refused to sell me the game because I was under 18 yet they where fine to let me pre order the game  Had to get someone else to buy it for me, Was raging at the time.

I was a month away from being 18 , i was terrified he wouldn't sell it to me. I had this whole plan about asking the guy behind me if he would buy it for me.

My mother was in work and not home till 5 o clock

After all that he just asked if i was 18 to which i said yes in a really awkward voice. He let me away with it. :pac:

Can't believe that was in 2008, I'm 23 at this stage, been waiting too long for this. I never get excited for games but this is making feel like a kid again. I cant wait :D:D

Just got an email from GS telling me I had to have the money in my account for the game tomorrow... I could have sworn they took payment when I ordered...

I got that email too and mine is definitely paid off, I double-checked my order form and bank statement to make sure.

I presume it's an email they're sending out to all who ordered GTAV, but it only applies to people who paid by credit card or PayPal (I used my Visa debit card). This is a quote from the order confirmation I got shortly after purchasing:
Important: Please note that for pre-orders purchased via MasterCard, VISA or PayPal we now take payment at time of shipping so please ensure you have funds available in advance of the release of the game.

Might contact customer service to make sure though.

I'm jealous of all the people saying they're taking the Tuesday (and the rest) off. There's no way I can take the Tuesday off. May be able to take the Wednesday and/or Thursday, depending on how everything's going and I'm off the Friday anyway. Then I've to work two 12-hour shifts that weekend.

Really have to hope to be able to take the Wednesday and Thursday off or else I won't get much GTA time in that week!

I bought off the website so I assumed they'd have debited my account like they always do... must have a gander at my bank statements just to double check, maybe they do an Amazon...

    It says,

in the confirmation email. Hopefully they'll ship tomorrow. :p

This is the way my local GS said it was going to happen for them (and probably all the others):
They will be open at 11/whenever that link says.
Those who have paid in full before 11:45 ish will be able to walk up and get a "to be collected" receipt.
They then go out and create a priority queue.
When 12 o'clock hits it will be a case of walk up, swap your receipt for your copy and head home.

Those who havent paid in full and expect to have a secondary line of those going in to pay off the balance and then join the priority queue.

The ones who expect to swan in at five to 12 will be put in the secondary queue and they will have to pay and pick up one at a time once 12 o'clock comes.

Of course, there could be different limitations to different stores, but check with them.

Assuming your local store is the same as mine (Scotch Hall), surely my best bet, as someone who isn't overly bothered about being the last in the queue (though if they tell me they have no copies left, and me after paying in full, I'll very likely be charged with aggravated assault) is to aim to be there for about 12:05 - 12:10, and, taking advantage of the large benches in scotch hall, have a little lie down until there are only 2-3 people in front of me in the queue and get my copy then?

Or is there a reason that wouldn't work?

This is my plan for Dublin City anyway!

Then home with a few beers and play into the wee hours!

Yes, I would also like to know if this is serious...?!?!!

This really pissed me off about IV...you would get all the way out to the airport and then you spend the whole time running from the airport police trying to get into countless planes..

    Jesus, a jumbo jet!!!!! :D:D:D

There is a huge GTA V Billboard by the Bus Station in Cork City. I got a snapchat of it today so I cant post it unfortunately but id imagine someone else will be in the area some time soon.

This time next week I'll be waiting patiently in line staring through xtravisions windows longingly at the GTA V boxes all laid out ready to be given out...

If my fatty PS3 gives up trying to play this game I will be in the mental hospital with the breakdown I'll have.

I haven't played GTA since San Andreas, my favourite was probably actually GTA 3 when i first got my PS2. i have only really played sports games the last few years as ive gotten older, but find myself wanting to see what this is about due to the hype and happen to be off work the week it comes out!

how accessible will it be for someone not a hardcore gamer? will it be pick up and play?

Had a similar experience with SA, about 5 of us went up to xtra vision during lunch in school but they only had 4 copies left. Of course we were all under 18, so we had to ring our folks and put them on to the guy in xtra vision. I was last in the queue, but my mate ahead of me couldn't get his parents on the line, never seen somebody so devastated. I on the other hand, was fooking delighted!
