I didnt think CJ was all that likable really.

Claude, Tommy and Johnny are all far more likable. Not much between CJ, Luis and Niko in regards being unlikable.

    Wow - just wow! :eek::eek:

The boyos at Rockstar must be 110% confident in what they are doing to shell out close 3 times as much as what IV cost...crazy money to be spent. It has cost more than the Avenger!! It'll beat its take-in too I bet my house on it

They've already passed the cost of their budget in pre-orders alone. I'd say at least half of the pre-orders might only have €20 or less on them, plus there'll likely be the special edition content released as DLC a week or two after release, meaning that'll bring in even more too.

Have to say, I rarely get DLC for games but I will get anything R* put out for this! I'm also afraid I'm hyping this game up too much for myself as I didn't really enjoy GTA IV but f*ck it, I'm too far gone, Gimme GTA Veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

    Guys the unspeakable has happened,:(

A mate of mine when to play GTA IV on his PlayStation, couldn't get the disc to load, it turns out the laser burnt out. He brought it in to a repair place and was told it's not worth repairing since it was a launch console. (the PHAT model)

He assumed it was working as he's always online playing Netflix or YouTube.
Luckily i have two so i can give him one for a while, Saves him having to buy a console that's nearly E.O.L.

I know its a stupid message, but just make sure your console is working and ready to go for the 17th :o

I've had my slim for just over a year after my launch fatty died so I should be ok.

I'd say it'd be a lot of people here's worst nightmare if their PS died the night before release.

I'd be very nervous if I was still using a launch console.. :o

Dailyedge.ie have the Father Ted reference on their website. They are showing a twitter spat that I never saw before. Father Ted writer Graham Linehan was giving out about the script quality of Max Payne 3. Bit mad!

Yeah my fatty got the ylod about a year ago, managed to get it working for a couple of hours with the hairdryer trick to get all my videos, music, photos and game saves backed up thank feck!

Does anyone have a working fatty? I would be nervous, it will probably explode once a game the size of GTA V is loaded up on it! :P

yep using a working fat ps3 from launch and no problems so far...I'm amazed at the amount of people with issues with both the new and the old.

Even my launch ps2 is working perfectly, so I couldn't tell you what I'm doing right, :)

He's going to save and get the PS4 and not bother with repairing his one, he even offered to pay for my GTA since i was giving him a console

Mine keeps YLODing so I bought a new slim, I'll have it for ages and a PS4 isn't on the cards until 2018. They'll keep developing games for the PS3 for a while yet.

I have a working fatty, have had zero issues with it. In fact never had any issues with a playstation console, PS1 and PS2 launch models all still working.

    1. Are there going to be anymore articles from IGN?
    2. Assuming you start as Michael, do you think you will you be able to switch between to Trevor\Franklin right away.
    3. I think I'm just going to drive the whole way around the island first and see how long it takes to go full circle....I'm thinking it'll be about 10 minutes. What does everyone else estimate?:p
    4. Is Rockstar a private company? I wouldn't mind having a shares in them around now...

Got rid of my Phat 60GB last Christmas after signing up to PS+ and not having enough hard drive space (plus as it was a launch model, I didn't want to just upgrade the HDD in case it YLOD'd on me eventually anyway).

Superslim 250GB should see me through GTAV nicely, and I've enough games and downloaded games for it that it'll probably still get some playtime for the first year or so the PS4 is out Then it'll purely be known as the GTAV Machine as that'll be its only function :D

IGN said Trevor isn't there at the very start of the game, that he comes in later on. So I'm assuming we'll start off as Michael, do a few missions with him, then unlock Franklin and then unlock Trevor.

Or maybe Trevor's just not in the story from the start but you can still switch to him.

Dan Houser did an interview with the Sun newspaper and they said it takes 1 hour to drive all around the outline of the map. Not sure if this was a quote from Dan or a guess by the newspaper

I can see the need now to purchase Jets if that is true

I have a fatty alright and thankfully it hasn't given any problems yet. It only needs to get through GTA V as I'll pick up the PS4 in the few months after so hopefully it keeps going. Would be crap to have to buy a PS3!

Interesting documentary on the history of GTA.

Just noticed, yer man from the start of GTA2 was in Eastenders (that ex-cop whose brother is the balding ginger chap)

<splashthecash shakes his head> Jesus, I need to step away from the computer
