Did you double the favourites again? Mine is much improved especially using the second press. I got 998 once in an hour and a half on ITV 1HD

yes doubled my favourites again after re doing the card trick,Ive noticed that when i go into other channels after doubling my favourites its empty, strange but it doesnt matter as i dont need to use other channels as my blue button channels are working fine,As i said earlier it just jumps to channel 998 once a day at 7pm .

Thinking of upgrading from my Amstrad drx780 to a box with larger capacity, does this trick work with the newer, larger boxes?

The full trick is working for me with a DRX 890. I have the trick channels on the main EPG.

Has anyone had any problem playing back programmes that they recorded before they performed the card trick.I tried the card trick but put in my ire card without putting the box into standby and i couldnt play back anything that i had recorded and also if i tried to watch any channel apart from the freeview channels, the screen would tell me i had a problem with my card and to contact my local dealer. What i really want to know is,if i put the box into standby before i put back in my ire card, will it stop this from happening. Thanks Alo34

One of my boxes does this after doing the card trick. I just keep pressing 101 until rte1 appears. It usually takes about 2-3 attempts.

Both boxes updated last night. Card trick much better. I can actually get the full trick epg if I do the trick with the UTV ftv card and then use the non HD Irish card. I'm delighted.... Now to cancel the HD..

Another way to avoid this problem is to do the trick while tuned to 501 as its common to both epg's.

It doesn't need to be a FTV card, any expired UK card will do. A UTV expired card will give the "full" trick epg to nearly everyone (non HD subscribers only)

I have the channels working on the blue button using a UK ftv card. I've just subscribed to setanta on another HD box & they sent me a card for this box to receive the channels. I've now done the card trick so as to have the UK & setanta channels available without going into the other channels.
It's all set up & I can view all the channels using the blue button.
The thing is after a while in standby the UK FTA channels disappear from the favourites list. I keep having to reinsert the ftv card followed by the setanta sub card. Anyone have any ideas why this might happen? Thanks

Check the eco mode is turned off. The box is probably turning off during the night.

What cards will do the full epg trick as opposed to the blue button trick? I have an East Midlands region version which gives me the blue button option,I can get a hold of a Scottish region card, would it work?

Same here... plus I get RTE2, BBC 1 and 2 and Channel 4(Amongst others) in HD on the EPG so therefore recordable. I also get ITV1 in HD through other channels. All this without a HD sub. I dont have Sports or Movies so the HD sub was a waste of money!

I see sky have a new box with built in wifi. I wonder how the card trick works on it? Will have to cancel the hd pack today, couldn't watch Whitechapel last night.
