Press the yellow button to place a tick beside the channel you want to add then press Select and then select again, then go other channels and should be there

The yellow button are ticked, as they are by default. I didn't untick any channel.

You must have a tick beside the channel you want to add then press select and select again when prompted.

They are not ticked by default, you must tick them to add them

    Did you get it sorted?

No. In the first page of this topic it appears I may need a FTV card.

  • Registered Users Posts: 484 ✭✭DigiDec

Channel 5 is Free to Air so you wont need a FTV card

These are the settings I enter into my Skybox:

This is what I see after I press "Find Channels". Notice the channels are all ticked.

I then press Select and this comes up:

However when I go into "Other Channels" this is all I see:

I havent had Sky for some time now but I do recall having to press the yellow or green buttons to save after adding the channels. Maybe its changed now but have you done this or is there an option to do so?

Go into Help and select Sky+ rebuild, that will bring them all back.

I don't think the instructions in this thread work any more to get the UK EPG on an Irish Sky+ HD box?

So what is the cheapest option to get the UK EPG working now on the box?

I just want the BBCs and ITV's etc on the EPG so I can get some reuse out of an old Sky+HD box for a smal tv

Thanks for the response, do you need to keep the UK card in the box at all times or do you only need it once to switch it over?

    Thanks...

The UK channels will remain until the box is turned off after which the Irish EPG will return so yes you do need to keep the card in the box all the time PLUS there are a few channels that will not work without the card in the box.

i have two sky plus boxes which hold the uk epg even if the card is not in them. I just make sure not to power them off at the mains. Haven't spotted any loss of channels either but could be wrong

I have two sky boxes and one with paid Sky for the living room the other two are in bedrooms, I removed the card from the main box put it into the other two boxes tuned in all the FTA stuff lined up correctly, removed the card and put it back into the paid box and the other two boxes have never lost the UK channel line up and there are no cards in them.

If you have older non HD boxes then you're fine but there's still a dozen or so channels you won't get without the UK card, otherwise, it's fine until the box reboots or has a software update.

We used to pay £25 for these cards back in the day, it was a bargain then and now you can pick them up for a fraction of that it's silly not to have one.
