    I'm enjoying State of Decay.

It's like Animal Crossing with zombies.

Yep you can use it, but games you buy over there won't work. Your charger will work but you may need a transformer, which you'll presumably have, and if you decide to buy a charger over there it'll work fine, and be less hassle to boot. Spotpass should work, and streetpass definitely will.

1st world problems and all that but I'm in a quandary.
A retro game has come up, a nice set in fact.
Comes in at around €80 posted.
My problem is I've spent far too much lately on this great hobby and made a pact with myself to curb spending for a while.
So I haven't bought End of Us, Dishonored or any of the other myriad titles out there.
So, do I jump in and make another covenant with myself afterwards until the next unmissable deal arises?
Or do I develop some backbone say no?

If its a good deal that saves you money, & if holding off & buying them again later on will cost you more...then go for it.

I tell a lie, on enquiry it works out at €100!
I'd have to swear off buying more stuff til September!

Is it something that's going to give you €100 worth of gaming? I know this is possibly the wrong attitude to have in this place (:pac:) but certainly Id be super reluctant to spend that much money on something just because it was rare or hard to find as opposed to something I genuinely was going to devote a chunk of time to. €100 to just have something gather dust or be sold on at a later point after a play or two (although if it's going to be profitable later on)... Better investing in something you'll definitely play through.

If its something you're going to eventually buy anyway, then you may as well get it now if its priced well.

Well it's a complete Namco Museum set, in the Encore limited edition box.
    It's quite lovely.
The aesthete in me wants it my collection.
The common sense bit, a sadly much neglected part of my mind, says I have then all already elsewhere, several times over, not to mention on the AWSD.
I don't have the time to play the games I do have.
At this stage a lot of purchases were more for the comfort of knowing they are there, as mad as that sounds.
Hence why I have the likes of Xenoblade and The Last Story on the Wii but know I'll never play them.

Guilty of that myself, but I've gotten better at saying no to myself over the last year :o These days if that particular bug bites, I try wait a day or two & see if the desire remains after that. 90% of the time it doesn't ;)

Buy it, put it on the credit card and let future ciderman worry about it.

Seriously though, if it is something you really do want and it is at a good price and you can afford it then go for it. The likes of the last of us and dishonored will still be there in a couple of months and possibly cheaper.

So...as you may already know, my cousin's team just won the Leinster Senior Hurling Title. No. I'm not bragging.

Any of you Gamecube aficionados know if this is an ok price for an rgb scart cable? Free shipping with Parcel Motel.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 16,096 ✭✭✭✭the groutch

    iirc gamecube & n64 cables are cross-compatible
if this is the case it'd be better to buy this one from ConsoleGoods

    http://www.ebay.ie/itm/Nintendo-64-N64-Scart-TV-Cable-AV-Lead-UK-PAL-NEW-/151074749104?pt=UK_Video_Games_Cables_and_Adaptors&hash=item232cc1bab0

cheaper, and the company has a very good reputation.
