Either the greatest thing ever or best joke ever - Quake 3 AI grows semi-sentient and embrace pacifism: http://i.imgur.com/dx7sVXj.jpg

Wow! The scary part to that is when they all ganged up on the new player attacking them.

Don't try to take Skynet offline

So is the guy who left that Quake 3 server running actually Miles Dyson?

Maybe you should get a load of combat gear and go take him down?

Watch out for his kid with the RC monster truck :pac:

Well the other option is that first he gets shot by you, then his family are traumatized by the knowledge he's responsible for killing billions, he's then riddled by a swat team and ultimately is blown to pieces in the research lab - his family forever thinking he's a terrorist.

Probably best to put him out of his misery in his home :pac:

I still havn't bothered with it yet, the inevitably low hype to disappointment ratio with modern blockbusters just means I'm never in a big rush to see them

Most of the ending is especially terrible, but Fassbender and Theron made it watchable. I enjoyed about 60-70% of it.

As far as the Alien cannon & genesis goes, I'd rather it remained unexplored. (I found the ambiguity around the the xenomorph far more interesting when we didn't really know that much about it. Find it always gets boring when people try to explain out things which don't need to be explained)

Reminds me of Silent Hill straight away, the later games.

Prometheus was a let down. I enjoyed it though because I have a thing for noomi rapace :pac:

Yeah, why do some people need every tiny detail explained and wrapped up in a neat little package?

It's far more interesting to leave things open ended so you can speculate!

If you said AvP2 then I'd agree with you but Prometheus was a good film. As a fan of the previous 4 films it was nice for the universe to be expanded upon I thought. Hopefully it get's a sequel.

I thought Prometheus was good for what it was, a Sci-Fi movie set in the Alien universe, that just touched upon the Xenomorph genesis. I think people went in expecting it to be an Alien prequel, and were disappointed when it was more a standard Sci-Fi movie than Sci-Fi/Horror.

I certainly thought it surpassed Alien Resurrection, which again, was a decent movie, with a ridiculously bad ending.

I actually enjoyed it too, though it would have probably been received better as a separate movie from the Alien franchise altogether.

The AvP films were in a world of their own for crapness. I try to forget they exist.

Did you like Resurrection? I only recently watched Alien 3:Assembly Cut and wow, does it turn a mediocre film into a great one. Real shame it wasn't first released like that, I think it wouldn't have received nearly as much criticism.

Yep I liked it as it was good to see Ripley back
even if she was a clone
    . Her
    alien offspring
was very meh though as was the ending.

Alien, Aliens and Alien 3 were all great. I thought Dutton was great in 3, it also spawned a brilliant Snes game too. ;)

I had Alien 3 on the Megadrive back in the day. Couldn't get very far in it due to the damn timer! There was always a hostage somewhere I couldn't get to in time.

I could never get over the killing of hicks and newt in such a washed over way in alien3. It made me like Aliens slightly less, because you know she is just wasting her time saving them.

    EDIT: Spoilers.. I guess.;)

I was expecting a film that made some sort of sense. What I got was absolute nonsense which featured Hollywood's least convincing scientists since sigorney weaver abused a micro pipette in Avatar.

Hah, that reminds me of the time I was at that Michael Biehn Q&A session.

Some eejit at the back wouldn't shut up asking him questions about how he felt about being killed in so many films. At one point I thought Biehn was going to run up the back and give him a box :D

I don't like the fact that Newt and Hicks are killed...however at the same time, it does add something to the film. It's so bloody oppressive and dark when compared to the upbeat ending to Aliens. As much as I hate to say it, it kind of works.

    What a cynical bunch.
I really enjoyed Prometheus, even the end.
Alien Resurrection was good aside from the fapped up ending, with the hybrid alien thingy.
Plenty to enjoy there though, not enough Michael Wincott though, that guy is bad ass!
The universe of the Alien is so large that there's plenty of dark nasty stuff yet to be filmed, never mind the Xeno stuff.
AvP made a passable effort at reproducing an excellent comic book series on screen, I don't seem to meet many who have read the comic unfortunately, and most think me mad...
