"• Goldberg was arrested in the storyline for assaulting Miss Elizabeth. He was scheduled to be in the main event and was arrested near the beginning of the show. Eventually he was released but the question was, would he make it back in time? The trouble was that earlier in the show it had been revealed that the police station was just accross the road from the arena. Somehow, Goldberg did not make the 30-second walk back to the arena in time."

If even half of those are true it's a miracle WCW lasted as long as it did.

Imagine what that locker room must have been like.

ROH has listened to your complaints and has CANCELLED doing iPPVs.

RING OF HONOR CEASING LIVE iPPVS
by Mike Johnson @ 5:35 PM on 6/24/2013

After the issues with their most recent iPPV event over the weekend, Ring of Honor has made the decision to discontinue all iPPV broadcasts live and will instead present them as VOD offerings the day after the live event.

The official statement from ROH issued to PWInsider.com reads as follows:

"This past weekend at "Best in the World" in Baltimore, MD , Ring of Honor proved once again from top to bottom why our talent is truly the best in wrestling today. Unfortunately, there were some issues with the live iPPV stream that wound up distracting from the energy and action in ring. For this, we sincerely apologize to all fans that encountered problems.

Because of how much we value the support of our fans, and understand the imperfections of the live streaming technology, "Best in the World" will be the last iPPV stream that we will be broadcasting live. All future main event shows will now be offered as a Video On Demand, which will allow Ring of Honor to present a flawless show and truly depict the excellence of our product.

From now on, fans can watch ROH Wrestling on TV, VOD, or DVD, however there is still nothing like seeing Ring of Honor in person. We thank you for your continued support and are excited to be moving forward.

    Ring of Honor Wrestling"

Ring of Honor popularized the iPPV craze within independent pro wrestling with their 2009 Final Battle event.

    Boo!

Haven't investigated. But it is probably true.

As is annual tradition Davey Richards said he not renewing with ROH.

Haven't listened to this yet. But Jim reverts to type and buries the company he leaves:
Jim Cornette's in on Mike Johnson's show today. Its quite something. He's doing his post-firing burial like he did with WWE and TNA. He goes off on Austin Aries, calling him a miserable mother****er, he has a go at Kenny King saying he should never have trusted him, he goes off on the ROH fanbase saying they dont have any patience, he says Mike Hogwood and Dave Parzak were the worst announce team he's ever heard. He's ripping on their iPPVs, he goes off on the venues they booked. All of this by starting the interview by saying "I'm not going to knock Ring Of Honor". And I've only listened to the first 20 minutes.

    :p

In non-ROH news Alex Riley seems to have replaced Matt Striker on Superstars.

Davey Richards is leaving to become what now an astronaut, a kerry hurler or maybe a horse dentist?
Where will the Briscoes go though WWE wouldn't touch them i'd say after the recent homophobic comment, I just can't see them in Tna (tbh they do need some fresh blood). Would NJ go for them?

Checking..... checking..... checking..... Nope. Nothing to do with Benoit the wrestler. For me, I dont give a fcuk what a wrestler does in their private life. I dont know them that way. I know them as a wrestler. If an actor did something similar, would you hate the characters they played? No. Perfect example being OJ Simpson in the Naked Gun. Whats the difference unless you knew him personally?

I choose to remember Chris Benoit the wrestler. The one I knew. Not Chris Benoit the person. The one I never knew.

I personally agree, but this is already a circular debate. Either people can separate them, or they can't : everyone's made their minds up dealing with the Benoit Tragedy, so there's no point in discussing or explaining reasoning. It just leads to people being annoyed with each other.

    http://www.wrestlinginc.com/wi/news/2013/0623/563626/former-nexus-member-talks-issues-with-john-cena/index.shtml

Former Nexus member Michael Tarver recently appeared on Wrestling Heels Radio.

When he realized he wanted to become a wrestler: "I remember as a kid growing up watching. One of my favorite moments was a match between Eddie Gueuerro and I think it was Kurt Angle. I think it was SmackDown. Match was finished, and he lost the match but got a standing ovation when he stood up. I was amazed. And knew I was extremely interested in that moment. It spoke to me."

Signing with WWE developmental (FCW): "When I signed the contract I was homeless. I literally was homeless. I had just come out of a very rough situation personally. I was working three jobs around the clock and training, body-building and wrestling. Traveling two days a week. I wasn't sleeping. I had to choose between saving money and getting an apartment or paying child support to take care of my children. I chose the latter of the two. I would drive to Philly (an eight hour drive from OH) just to get a shot to work with PWX.
"So when I got that contract, I cried. It was surreal. I never thought anything like that could happen to me in my life. I was literally sleeping in my truck or on a friend's couch. The contract became effective two days before my birthday in 2008. I moved from OH to Tampa FL that month and it happened to be the week of Wrestlemania 28. When I got that I found myself on with. the Big Show. I literally went from being homeless to being on WrestleMania. I didn't expect it. I was feeling something big was coming because things were starting to go right but I never would have thought in a million years it would be WWE. I was very, very thankful for it. And every year I was on WWE I made it my goal to work arder than everyone else and not let it ever be said anyone worked harder than me. I'd stay after practice sometimes. Sometimes turn the lights off. I worked hard to keep this opportunity to take care of my children that I would never ever thought I'd get."

His reaction when he was going to be put into the Nexus angle: "Well, we didn't know. We had no idea about the Nexus until the night it debuted. And there it is. The idea came from a SmackDown episode. WWE is entertainment, but Wade Barrett is a legitimate, natural-born leader. He was approached with something that ended up becoming the Nexus. He approached us and he handled ambiance and told us to go out and destroy everything. And if we did not destroy everything we would get fired and lose our jobs. Told us not to tell anyone. No one was supposed to know. We got back there that night in Miami. And we destroyed everything. It was a very special weekend. The night before that was my daughter's birthday. It was a very special experience. I am very thankful for that experience."
What caused the Nexus angle to fizzle out: "There's always something going on backstage, but what's important is the product. The product is the most important hing. Well, really the fans are the most important things. But regardless of what's going on backstage it's about what you do in that ring in front of the cameras. We did everything we could. The Nexus was a wonderful story line and great opportunity.

"There were a lot of things about my issues with John Cena. I have nothing against John Cena. I'm his biggest fan. I still watch him every week. It's all about what you do in the ring. At the end of the day, you need to be able to do your job, no matter what's going on. I believe a lot of things could have been done differently. But it's not about what I believe. It's still something that was very different. We were different because we were 'rookies'. What we were doing had not been done. The way we did it had not been done. The honor of being compared to the ranks of those people is something I'll always be grateful for. It is what it is. I'm proud of those guys. They're great guys. Those guys are extremely talented and I'm happy to see that. The Nexus was something very special. There was a match on SmackDown and all you heard was 'We want Nexus.' It's very special."

His thoughts on the current product: "I'm always watching, I'm always studying. I always want to get better. I want to show the world that I'm as talented as I know that I am. I whole-heartedly believe that I can go toe to toe with John Cena and CM Punk and get the microphone and go toe to toe with them. And I know from experience that I can hold my own with anyone in the world. But me knowing I can is different from the rest of the world knowing that I can. So I always keep that chip on my shoulder and I train extremely hard and it keeps me hungry. So I keep that humility about me. If it's 50 people or 500 I pretend it's five or ten thousand people. I found that at the end of the
day I know how to perform."

His potential dream matches: "Kurt Angle is a dream match. I'd love to be in the ring with Kurt Angle. I've been in the ring with Randy Orton, but I'd love to have a face-to-face, one on one with Randy Orton. I've been in the ring with him but would love to go one-on-one, go strike to strike. Bobby Roode... we could do somethingspecial. James Storm. A lot of guys. Legendary and current."
If he would join TNA: "I don't know about that, but. (Chuckles). I visited TNA a year or two ago. It was cool. It was fun and exciting. Don't know you'll see me, but I will always be a fan. I used to watch TNA years ago. Bat girl used to come out. Been watching it from back then. Definitely a huge fan and they definitely have my support."

Is that the Bella twins in the Summerslam poster? They look strange. Bryan looks like the only one who fits in there.

As for that Tarver interview, I notice he didn't answer the Nexus fizzling out question.

WWE superstar CM Punk has obtained a restraining order against his estranged mother -- claiming she constantly hits him up for money and then threatens to kill herself if he doesn't come through ... TMZ has learned.

Punk -- real name Phillip Brooks -- claims in legal docs filed in Illinois that he's tried to break off his relationship with his mother for more than a year "due to repeated financial demands and years of abusive, harassing and threatening behavior."

In the document, Punk says he's made an effort to help his mom -- who he claims suffers from bipolar disorder -- giving her more than $100,000. But Punk says her "abusive/threatening behavior" escalated when he cut her off.

That's when Punk's mom allegedly unleashed a torrent of nasty emails -- telling the wrestler, "You don't give a s**t about us. You just care about your money and money hungry/fame hungry friends. You would sell us for a nickel."

Punk also says his mother threatened to release potentially embarrassing information about her son's past. Punk suggests the information has to do with arrests when he was in high school.

In the docs, Punk says his mother has threatened to commit suicide on at least 4 occasions in 2012.

Punk says, "I wish for the harassment to stop and am requesting the assistance of the court in this regards."

The judge in the case granted the temporary restraining order back on June 10 -- but the wrestler is due back in court today where he will likely try to extend the protection order for several years.

I definitely think that parents, if they reach a certain point of manipulation and dysfunction, should be cut out of the lives of their children. Parents can completely poison the lives of their children if the parents are messed up enough. The children have every right to want to be healthy and free of that kind of stuff.

Taz isn't a dummy although he plays one on TV! He knows how to play the leverage game and the Wrestling media. Would be shocked if he fed that story to PWInsider.

The next set of taping are supposedly his last. Interesting how this plays out given they could ring Kennelly, sign Matt Striker or give Jeremy Borash another thing to.

Send Tenay off with Taz and try a trio of Kennelly, Striker and Borash. Tenay has been getting worse every year while Taz hasnt been good in ages. All three would be an upgrade.

Tenay's better than those three. He's been steadily dragged down by Taz for years now. Watching older TNA and seeing how awesomely passionate Tenay was will always make me choose him over Keneley (who was decent but not great) and especially Striker who became more and more insufferable for each show he did.

Bar bringing Don West back (which isn't going to happen), JB and Tenay would be my preferred combo by a very long way.

It looks like the WWE is going to have a Hall of Fame location at TNA’s old home, the Universal theme park in Orlando. Word from the park is that the NBA City table-service location is shutting down. There is talk it would be remodeled as the WWE Hall of Fame. Those in WWE say they are not aware of any plans.

Chillax lads. This conversation will go nowhere like all the other times.

Looks like this lad has burnt every bridge:
Brandon Sylvestry (Low Ki/Senshi), 32, has been telling promoters that have contacted him that he’s retired. He’s moving on into voice over work. He had been in talks with All Japan, but had asked for a huge guarantee. At one point they had an agreement but All Japan backed off. He did say that with the right program with a major group, he is open to coming back, but not unless it’s something major.

Low Ki the story of someone who pissed away masses of talent being a gob****e.

In his latest “Art of Wrestling” podcast, Colt Cabana addressed the recent rumors of a potential move to WWE as an announcer:

“Something was reported about myself this week about myself and a position in the world of professional wrestling. And, I will just say this. This podcast is probably the best thing I have ever done for myself in wrestling” For my own sanity, this is what has made me happy… This has allowed me to find people who enjoy what I do. So, I have to protect myself no matter what comes and I have to be smart about what I’m going to do in the future.”

    Cabana continued:

“Yes, big corporate wrestling machines have reached out to me and inquired about my services, but it’s not just them, other big corporate wrestling machines have also reached out to me. And every time I think about what happened before and how I’m doing now, I keep that in consideration and the realization of my sanity and how much I enjoy it. This is what I love to do. And, I don’t plan on stopping this any time.
“So, take that how ever you want it. Just know that I am a podcaster, I’m proud to be a podcaster, and in the foreseeable future, I see myself as a podcaster. Was that cryptic? Was that weird? Listen, I ain’t quitting this podcast for nothing. You get it? Good.”

Can I just state how very, very happy that would make me feel? Currently planning my 5th visit to Florida in 8 years (for next summer), so know that area pretty well. There's a crazy amount of foot traffic pass by that building, and it was be so very, very awesome to see a WWE attraction right there, right beside one of my favorite restaurants in the world (Hard Rock Cafe, Orlando). Would make my favorite place in the world even more fantastic.
