Tough, tough week over - turns out that I'm not doing as well as I thought I was according to my line manager, even though everyone else has said I was doing okay and had given me better observation reviews. Really left things go this week, so absolultey need to clamp down on things this week. Two weeks to Easter!!! Another inspection before Easter - I'm so going to prove him wrong, if its the last thing I do.

I decided to start the 30Day Shred - 30 mins later and I can still hardly lift my arms to type - the cardio wasn't too bad though

That must be really tough to hear. I hope he gave you constructive criticism so you know the areas you can improve on. :)

It was very difficult - I ended up heading back to the office, then to my room - when one of my colleagues came down for our weekly meeting, I absolutely lost it. Not really no tbh - I had a read of his email and in one part he criticizes me for not following the plan, then down a small bit he criticizes me for following the plan when I needed a plan B. Tbh, none of the staff have a high opinion of him, anyone I spoke to said he was a lazy overpaid power hungry idiot - but the problem is I have to get a good enough grade with him to pass my induction. I'll prove him wrong yet!

Easy enough day tomorrow, have my year 9's planned, not teaching 10s due to exams, and 11 is project work.

Not very helpful, is he? Try not to let it get you down and like you said, focus on proving him wrong.

He could hardly give you a bad grade if you ace your inspection?

    How'd you break the glass?

Fingers crossed for your next assessment RG :)

I had an umbrella drying off in the bath. I took it out and swung it by accident and it hit the glass. I'm a bleeding disaster. Hopefully it can be replaced. More money.

    Oh dear :(

You just reminded me, I used to live with a girl who dried her umbrella in the bath. I thought it was the weirdest thing the first time I saw it.

Obviously it makes sense but it had never occured to me to do it.

Another place I lived, a girl didn't like me putting my umbrella up to dry indoors at all because it's 'bad luck'.

I'm a bit tipsy. Friends had to cancel due to an unwell child, so we drank all the drink between te two of us then walked the dogs (to the off-license)

I'm listening to eircom music hub (GREAT!) but on clicking on a paddys day song I saw one that reminds me of my grandad and I'm a bit weepy (in a dancy drunk type of way )

Witnessed a crash on the way home, still kinda in shock. Everyone was ok. By some miracle. Drunk driver going at least 60mph onto a main road, hit another man. Its amazing no one was hurt. Cant believe the stupidity of the guy.

Mind yourself, doesn't matter you weren't involved, it's still a very shocking experience.

I emailed my Masters course head about my new job and how it might be a thesis subject, and am so flattered at her interest and encouragement, really really chuffed :)

Makes me more determined to succeed!

Just spent the last 15 minutes of a niteclub with a friend of ours telling us we MUST have a baby. He deemed us great parents to be (even though every time he said "STOP" to make us listen we broke into "Hammer time!" and danced in circles) and said we owed it to the world. I used every phrase I have, we hate kids, we can't have kids the way we do it, I like swallowing too much (I was trying anything to shut him up!) he just kept on. We ended up scarpering when we could. I hate this assumption that everyone wants and should have kids. I promised I'd get loads of kittens if that would do, he said no.

Why can't people just bugger off and mind their own business?? I hate kids, go talk to someone who wants them! I spent all night nodding and smiling at people's stories about their kids, all I wanted to do was dance and mind my own business :(

I don't understand why people have to expect others to do things a certain way. If you don't want to get married/have kids/move/stay/whatever it's no one else's business whether you do or not. Same way it wasn't when people started judging me for deferring. That was my decision not theirs.

It reminds of a post I saw on boards once. (MODS: I hope it's ok to bring this up. It's just an observation on an old post. If not you can delete this part.) Someone was talking about how their OH didn't want kids or to get married and how he was obviously going to change his mind when he saw how happy his friends were. I just felt it was so unfair on the OH in question that his personal views were disregarded like that just because it wasn't the 'norm' and that 'everyone' wants those things.

Right now, I don't know what I want when it comes to marriage and children. I've had to rethink my views on them a lot lately, but I'd like to think that, if I were to decide that I didn't want either, others wouldn't feel the need to make me do it or judge me because I don't want to.

Oh no, what happened? My weekend was a non starter. Made me feel really homesick because I wasn't doing anything special for St Patrick's day. :(

I'm like a broken record on this one. The world would be a much happier place if people just minded their own business.

Mam is really sick. Can hardly get out of bed so I've been by her side since Saturday. Ill be staying in hers till she gets back on her feet which doesn't seem to be anytime soon.

Jamie was 11 yesterday so got to spend some quality time with him while mam was in bed. Watched puss in boots and x-men.

Thanks guys. It's a big pile of crap but she'll get better. No thanks to her other 3 kids who think calling her us helping her get washed or go to the toilet. Fcuking pricks.

That's the worst. My Dad's sister was the same with my Nan. Like I said, make sure you look after yourself because it's going to be hard on you too.

I am so not looking forward to this bolloxology after we get married but I am going to keep all of your excellent responses in reserve and hopefully scare people off :P My sister got married 3 years ago and surprisingly she hasn't had to put up with too much of this but i think a lot of her friends, in fact the majority of them, don't have kids themselves.

I hate the assumption that you think you'll be a bad parent and that's why you don't want kids. I hate the assumption that everybody must follow the same path. The world would be so boring if everyone did.

Yeah pixiebean it's such crap, I had another friend going on and on last night, she's a funny mix, she thinks I hate her child because it's a child, but she's my friend so of course I like her kid! The fact that she is a no nonsense mum most of the time helps, kid is very well behaved. But then at the same time while we were chatting -in a niteclub, I just wanted to dance! - she was saying how cute our kids would be, omg so adorable... Not my style of niteclub conversation, luckily my bro in law was there asking my opinion on various girls boobies :p

Seriously who wants to talk about that kind of thing on a night out? You think they'd be happy to talk about adult topics of conversation with other adults. Also, know their audience!!!
