I was only thinking over this the other day, but, you never get to kill Sonny do you ?
He just sort of fades out..

I hated him more than any of the endgame characters and was dying to kick him around and smash his head into a grinder of some sort.

Hopefully they release a DLC or something where he's in it

Picked this up the other day and absolutely love it. I usually tire of these games pretty easily as there isn't much they can keep throwing at you to keep it interesting.

Can anyone let me know how far I am into the missions? I want to try and stretch it out a bit and don't want to finish the story too quickly. I'm currently just finished the mission where you are finally made part of the "family" and made a "red pole"...Am I approx half way through? Further?

Unforunately isn't that long just make sure you complete all the side quests (favours, races etc) before doing the next main mission that's available.

If I remember correcetly that just after the
    Wedding
    mission so still have around
    15
main story missions to go so below half way :)

Just picked up a steam key for this for 15 sterling. Cant wait to get into it later tonight. Whats the best control scheme do people find? KB n mouse or 360 controller.
Used the controller for Batman AC and it was about a million times better than the KB. Kind of thinking it could be the same for this? Just seems more natural for 3rd person games....

Didn't play it on PC, but I can say that the controls on 360 are brilliant, so I'd go with the controller, especially for the combat.

(But then I'm not a major fan of KB and mouse anyway (f*cking WASD is a pain in the balls if you're a leftie :P) so I'm probably not the best to get advice from I guess :))

Picked this up earlier today, been meaning to for ages but time/money/other games kept getting in the way. Only played a couple of hours so far but I'm loving the feel of it so far, the atmosphere brings me back to Shenmue 2 which was always one of my favourite games and the combat, free running etc seems to be very well done, cant wait to get into it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,009 ✭✭✭✭wnolan1992

I started playing it again today. :)

Grabbed a shotgun from the back of a police car, then went to a drug bust where the guys were unarmed.

    Most. Fun. Ever!

They were running at me with pipes and bats, and one shot would knock it out of their hand and blow them five feet back. :D

I just love the fighting though! Definitely the best thing about the game. Wish I could just keep doing drug busts over and over again.

I would've sworn that I would buy any DLC for this game but this can go and shíte. I'm sick of zombies being shoe-horned into games. Give me a DLC with some new crimes to solve and I'd be all over it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,009 ✭✭✭✭wnolan1992

"magical tea gives Wei Shen ELECTRIFIED FISTS" and he'll have to fend off zombies with "a magical sword".

    I've heard enough. F*ck this.

Just give me a few more cases for that female cop or some more large brawling missions.

Is any of the dlc worth getting for this game? Finished the main story a few days ago and still keen to play it, there seems to be a few dlcs with extra missions etc but not sure which is actually worth it?

Have been playing this as recently as last night, turned on the PC today, logged into Steam, and found the game wants to download a 2.5gb update! Anyone know what it is exactly?

Haven't played it in a while but last update that I know was 1.7 which I think was around a month ago.

Actually a game I may now replay as its been a while since I've completed it and it's been updated quite a bit since then.

Finally a decent DLC for this game and something that doesn't seem out of place unlike that Halloween DLC.

Now to just download that 5GB update :(

Picked this up at Christmas for extra cheap on the steam sale. Was not sure what to expect given the mixed reviews I read but I must say I'm loving it. Seem to have gotten into it more than any of the GTA games although did not really give GTA 4 a chance. Must go back to it after I complete this. Anyone who gets a chance to pick it up give sleeping dogs a go.

I finished Sleeping Dogs earlier today. I really enjoyed it. So much so that it might even be my favourite open world game of this generation. I found the Hong Kong setting very interesting, certainly more so than another generic American city. The melee combat was excellent and the gunplay was passable too.

    The story kept me interested
even if it did wrap up a little suddenly and neatly.

Sleeping Dogs. SoLA doesn't even come close. TCNYC was close but still way off the amount of fun that's in Sleeping Dogs.

I actually got irritated by the amount of physical punishment Wei got in the course of the final mission. Tortured, beaten, shot, and still managed to beat the crap out of the bad guy. Sort of spoiled the immersion I guess, but that's just me.

Loved the game though, was really excellent.

Ive a key for this on steam, for anyone following the thread and cant afford to buy it. I have no interest. Have FarCry3 and thats me good for games for a while.
Send me you steam ID and obviously you should not already have the game.

For anyone who missed it in the bargains thread this is €12.50 on steam.

Edit: Even cheaper on Amazon - gives a steam product key.

This is rumoured to go free on PSN+ today. Official announcement is at 1pm. Anyone planning on buying it today for PS3, i'd say hold off until the announcement.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,775 ✭✭✭✭Gbear

Below a certain point - I'd say €10 - it stops bothering me. I'm getting it for PC anyway.

8 quid for what a few places have classed as one of the GOTY is a fair bargain. Same price as a cinema ticket.

My internet is a bit **** so it'll I won't get to play it today but seriously looking forward to this now.

no word on whether or not it's expected for the DLCs to go down in price. could still end up getting the full thing cheaper buying off amazon at 9.99 USD and getting the DLC off steam before end of today for 11 odd euro.

but sure, however anyone gets it, is up to them.

With all the sales and now the announcement of it being free on PS+, I'm rather optimistic about a sequel...

Isn't there new DLC coming out for this game? I think it's more cop levels or something.

The DLC and the game were all discounted during the PSN christmas sale, not sure if that makes it more or less likely as they may want to get a bit more out of people.

I'd say there will be a sequel. Can't believe this game was actually cancelled by Activision on the 2nd page of this thread. I always hoped Activision would be kicking themselves over their comment 'This wasn't going to be good enough' and I'd say they are.

Finished it earlier. Great game. Some great action pieces in it too. Wasn't fond of the camera while driving, particularly for motorbikes (camera swooped around too fast while reversing and driving off, and shook too much while driving fast). But other than that, very little complaint from me.
